totally agree mate , same with fashion jr imoIf you want to maintain standards and motivation you have to let guys performing keep the shirt.
Bassey is doing that and his confidence is flying.
He’s been part of a back 5 that has let in 1 goal in 4 games.Let’s be honest. He has filled a hole, and did well but of course big Leon comes straight back in.
Easiest question you will be asked all week.
Disagree, The specialist in the position comes straight back in for me. Then we debate wether it’s Calvin or Borna starts LB.He’s been part of a back 5 that has let in 1 goal in 4 games.
I’m not his biggest fan at centre half but he deserves his place in the starting 11
As I said I’m not his biggest fan at centre half. But he’s looked comfortable there recently. That’s the plus points of having a strong squad I suppose.Disagree, The specialist in the position comes straight back in for me. Then we debate wether it’s Calvin or Borna starts LB.
This was Gerrard’s issue too, on one hand he would talk about setting standards and motivating guys to go again yet played guys irrespective of performance.totally agree mate , same with fashion jr imo
100% in agreement here. This was Gerrard’s issue too, on one hand he would talk about setting standards and motivating guys to go again yet played guys irrespective of performance.
You can’t do both.
No for me Bassey should not be dropped. It will be great to have another option at centre back again but Bassey has been outstanding in that position since coming in and has shown a level of consistency that I don’t think we get from Balogun. Barisic is also getting better with every game and we look defensively strong for the first time this season.
With Helander starting to train again our CB position is suddenly not looking that much of a problem again although we really need to address the Goldson situation in January.
No Bassey deserves a good run in the team.It will be great to have another option at centre back again but Bassey has been outstanding in that position since coming in and has shown a level of consistency that I don’t think we get from Balogun. I think that's more to do with our full backs not bombing on and leaving us short at times than it is to do with Baloguns defendingNo, we suddenly look comfortable and more organised when teams attack us without Balogun.
I had resigned myself that it would be like that until Helander was back but Bassey has done the business.
