Match Thread Dundee v Rangers - 20:00 Wednesday - Sky Sports

Another 45 minutes of dreadful football. Defence all over the place under the hint of pressure and an undisciplined midfield that are so easy to play through.


We dominated Hearts the match after going top but this run of really poor performances really started once we went top of the league. Hard to feel like that's a coincidence with the history some of this squad have.
 
It feels like we are back to the Beale days where we are just carrying players who contribute absolutely nothing.

Silva and Lawrence just don't add anything whatsoever either going forward or tracking back.

Tav is pretty much just a dead ball specialist (except corners) and not much more at the moment.

Cantwell looks busy but just doesn't actually impact the game other than getting to close to players and giving away cheap free kicks.

The only players that look like creating something are out of position Sterling and Souttar.

If we don’t get a result tonight. Then we won’t get a result there. But it won’t matter
 
Seems like a team that know they will not win the league. This was meant to to be first of the cup finals, we are playing like it’s a pre season friendly. Hopefully Clement has a go at them to wake them up. I think we need matondo on. So many doing nothing. Dundee just sitting hoping for a chance. Funny how the opposition always somehow manage to find space but the only space we can find is across our back line.
 
Forget the result tonight. Regardless of it, we have serious problems. We're a mess. So many players in that side are past it and yet we are paying them a fortune.

If we're not putting Lundstram out on Edmiston Drive alongside Roofe in June then we deserve all we get.
 
Woeful. They’ve been closer to scoring than we have.

Sima with a few pass backs. One vaguely decent attempt at a corner.

No midfield - team full of passengers that look like they’ve chucked it.

In their own hands to win a Treble. How is that performance possible?
 
No effort, no creativity, nobody willing to have a shot, take on a man, make a run, or just do something positive. Arrrrghhhhh

But yes you're points are valid
Sterling needed in middle but not trusting Barisic an issue. Why even have him on the bench?

Fact is we were still in it even losing those games at the time. Tonight it's all or nothing.

But you're right, it looks like the last days of a manager - I'm absolutely not saying it is or will be, but the players are playing that way.

I sincerely hope it's not that the win or draw bonus is a lot higher for Europe wins or draws. However you never know these days.

Diomande and Yilmaz are our only resellable assets and it's no surprise to me that take them both out and everything becomes disjointed.

I think it’s a reflection of the squad quality. We’re tinkering with an average bunch of players and you could easily take 3 or 4 of them off at HT.

He could have started Borna, Matondo, Dessers? All players who we regularly say shouldn’t have started and should be subbed off in games.

Trying to get a tune out of not a lot of quality. Brutal.

There’s not a chance he’s meant that, a cup semi coming up and although it’s a long shot the chance of a league. If he’s chucked it which I really doubt he should pack his bags along with half the squad as well.

Should be: Davies on for Lundstram, Sterling to midfield, Raskin on for Lawrence, McAusland on for Silva. He’ll I’d maybe even throw on Dowell for Cantwell too I’m so scunnered with this lot!
