Expected fee to sign Sima?

If he was our player, would you accept £4m for him this summer ?

Neither will Brighton. He'll be double figures minimum.
They wont get that atm. Far safer for them we shop window him with another loan or we give them a percentage of what we sell him for in the future and or a buy back clause.

There's nothing official but the usual uninformed, clickbait internet type sources have speculated £10m, or possibly even having to match our highest ever transfer fee (£12m).

Hopefully a deal can be done for much less.

Wouldn't surprise me if they give him to us on the cheap but want a buy back option. That would be smart business from them

Or just get him to go back there, sit on his arse for the first half of the season and offer him £2m as a signing bonus for a pre contract in January.

Looks like he'd want to stay but the fee might be too much for us and I'd imagine there will be other clubs with more resources into him.

He could sign a pre-contract with us in January (or any other club) and could go for free next summer.

I saw a story online saying that his club is looking at 1 of our youth players, pretty sure I said it on here a few weeks ago and a few guys said who it was, so I think there may be some substance to it. So our youth player could be used as a bargaining chip, and the money they have down in England could mean that they are fine with taking a chance. Suppose if it is true it could come down to a case of Brighton looking at Sima and our youth player and deciding which 1 has the better potential future.
Technically you can't do that we have been fined before for using youth players in a make weight by forgoing the development fees until they have a professional contract.

Was I think to hearts or raith

We also mentioned in b the Chelsea case with gilmour

Utrecht fans might be saying similar for Lammers but we won't be hard to deal with and he at least pulled on a first team jersey for us.

Reality is he's never kicked a ball for them and had a couple of unsuccessful loans prior to this one.

They need to be sensible and it'll probably be down to him whether he wants to come back or not.

Is another team going to come in and spend £10m or more for a guy who's been a success in Scotland for 1 season? I'm not so sure mate.

Granted he done well for them to sign him in the first place but that's a while ago now.

I’m not sure about that.

Failed loan at Stoke and Angers, and last year of his contract doesn’t exactly scream making a profit on this one for Brighton.

Time will tell but I think £7-8m gets it done.

Whether we can pay that will depend on whether we win the league or not.

He’ll also have racked up decent loan fees for Brighton over the last three moves. Selling at £5M will probably see them being close to break even with them all combined.

Bring the title home Abdallah, and we’ll pay whatever is requested

Brighton won't have put him out on loan 3 times without getting a loan fee from some or all of the clubs involved, including us so they'll have had some recompense towards the fee they paid.

I'd definitely take him but if we buy him and Cortes, along with Diomande, that'll be £15M to stand still, although all 3 could possibly be sold for a profit further down the line if they develop as hoped.

If we don't sign him for £5-6M plus a sell on then someone else will.

One thing to bear in mind is that it's not just Brighton we need to worry about. His stellar performances for us may well have caught the eye of a few other teams as well. Bear in mind he was also recently called up to the Senegal squad for AFCON (annoyingly, as that's where he got fecking injured). He's likely not gone unnoticed by other scouts.

So whilst Brighton may accept 6/7 mil from us if we're the only ones interested, our issue could be that other teams sniff around too and start the dreaded "bidding war".

FWIW, he's a tremendous player and we should push the boat out to make him ours permanently if finances allow.

The Arthur Daley, car scrappy “I’ll take it off your hands” approach?
That’d be brilliant.
Nilis on the phone saying “How much?, he has been playing in Scotland for the last year mate, we ain’t paying that kind of money for someone from a pub league!” “We will give you Scott Wright, a specialist in scoring v teams from the Capital, so play him v Chelsea, Arsenal etc, etc. A bag of balls and 10% off Castore leisure wear.

Need a new striker.

Danilo should nothing to suggest he’s good enough to lead the line for us as the main man.

Don't want to derail the thread but agree strongly with you here.

He looked erratic at best when he played and people had him hyped up purely because he wasn't Dessers/Lammers.

I'd expect an improvement under Clement though as one of his strengths seems to be giving players clarity on their role & simplifying things for them.

Fingers crossed that's also the case for Danilo.

This, highly unlikely he has a future at Brighton, but there’ll be a number of clubs with deeper pockets than us that’ll be in for him. Sadly we have more chance of signing his son.

I would love to sign Sima and play him as Centre Forward but the simple fact is unless they are looking for less than 5m for him and we sell Lammers for what we paid for him, we are not signing him.

We are also not signing Silva.

Sima I will be more sad to lose, not Silva is bad but Sima was really starting to get going and then he got injured and we have missed him.

I can’t see it, we are due to pay out for Dio and Cortes in the summer. - As much as I want and hope for Sima to become permanent, I think the price would probably take our whole summers budget.

Sima will be 8 million plus.. as said our only hope is win the league and champions league money helps pay the deal..
This is the sort of players we should be looking at..Cant get a game for parent club but stand out for us…
And he will have a good sell on value…

The player will really need to push for the move to us for it to happen, it would not surprise me if an English championship team offers £10-12m because he is quality player.

He is out of contract in a year and seems to want a move to us so it is possible but it will be at the top end of our budget with a lot of add ons

Don't really buy into this 'spend £15m to stand still' idea.

If we bring them in to sign for us permanently, we could then go get 3 other loans that don't cost us much to begin with, that if successful we could buy the following year.

Then rinse and repeat.

Each year, the team should be getting stronger, or we sell a player for big money.

If we win the league and are guaranteed 30 mil then we can afford it as you don't pay all at once. winning the league is so important to the shape of our team next season.

They paid 7 million for him. Brighton have a transfer model that they make profit. Your looking at the very least 15mil.
I might have went too high here :))

But it'll be closer to that than the people saying 3mill. He's a quality player.

Come the summer they’ll be plenty options up for grabs, we may get better than Sima in a few months.
sure someone else might prove even better than sima but we could easily spend 5 million + on a player who proves to be worse.

This may seem an obvious point but we know what we're getting with Sima and there is enormous value in that because usually every signing is a gamble in football. with Sima we know he plays well within our team, under our manager, has room for improvement in years to come, has a good attitude, scores big goals on big games etc. none of that is guaranteed bringing in someone else.

After his contribution yesterday and over this whole season, it would be hard to find a Rangers fan not desperate to sign him.

What kind of fee do we think it will take to prise Sima away from Brighton in the summer?

They signed him for 8 million in 2021 but in 3 full years at the club he hasn't made a single appearance for them. Since he's nowhere their first team, he's three years older and he will only have one year left on his contract, I'm thinking his fee will surely be in the 4-5m range.

Whatever the fee is, the board simply has to stump it up because we'll likely sell him for double that fee again after a couple of years of Champions League goals and further improvement under Clement. Get the deal done Rangers.
If bought for 8 mill, then is likely on their books now at 2. Doubt they'd take 2 but that should be the starting point.

If he is 6 or 7 million I can't see us signing him unless we were to sell Butland for a massive fee.

A lot of our spending in recent years has been funded players sold and we don't have many I see us getting much of a fee for.
