Gio Wasn’t A Bad Player Either

I remember stating when he was appointed as manager that we’d actually managed to get a man with a better footballing pedigree.
Doubt many would agree, but let’s be honest, it’s true. Premier league winner, la Liga winner, CL winner, captained his National side to a World Cup final. Incredible career.

One of a select few who actually went on to better things after leaving the famous!

scored a cracker in a draw with the paddies in a qualifying game I'm sure, our 4th goal against the enablers that sunday afternoon at Ibrox was a damn fine finish as well,

Gerrard was a player, no doubt about it.
His legacy hampered only by him failing to win his league.
I guess his CL win gets him a plus point or two though.
Despite my post, if I could sign one of them, I’d go for Gerrard.
More than the sum of his parts, a John Greig, if you see where I’m coming from.
Put it this way, Liverpool wouldn’t have won that CL had Gerrard not been playing.
