Ye Chinese/Hong Kong betting scam backed heavy to go down but form was to good . Administration and points deducted regulation makes bet better .
That's my thinking aswell the Whyte takeover should never have been allowed to occur if proper strict legislation for club owners was enforced the vetting procedure's need updatedThe FA have got to be held somewhat responsible for approving it in the first place.
You'd be surprised just how much of the world gambling percentage is in Asia. (Maybe not when you consider every casino has Asian translations available)If I'm reading that correctly, the bet on Wigan's relegation must be worth significantly more than £45m.
I find it staggering that even in the Asian markets that bets are being laid with that kind of liability.
Even if it was several sizeable bets with different companies or exchanges, it surely attracts attention?
I'm with you mate, if they are gambling those numbers there is no way it's their last £100m and they need to make sure it comes in! If you can gamble £100m then you have another £100m somewhere. If I'm reading that correctly, the bet on Wigan's relegation must be worth significantly more than £45m.

I think the fit and proper test thing (unless linked with us) is basically how much money can you say you have and will invest in the club, without any real way of backing it up. It reminds me of a conversation I had with someone about the old golf courses in Scotland having a minimum handicap required to play, and someone telling me that the Asian tourists who come over and play, their handicap number is their credit card number. All checks go out the window when someone is willing to splash the cash that they may or may not have.So the EFL guy would be equivalent of Doncaster?
He has heard rumours of a large bet on Wigan to be relegated. Heads must be rolling with this fit and proper person test they do ( or don't do by the looks of it). Would love it if they won a few more games and beat the drop!
Is it not the EFL who govern the league and sanction owners via fit and proper person tests? I don’t think the FA are involved. The FA have got to be held somewhat responsible for approving it in the first place.
It's always the Far East. Everything is linked to them, plus this corona virus.
Then we've got the Irish!
My mistake. Is it not the EFL who govern the league and sanction owners via fit and proper person tests? I don’t think the FA are involved.
Yeah, I read that earlier. Sounds very far fetched but why the %^*& would you spend £41m on a club to immediately stop funding it and put it into administration, likely losing the money invested? That just doesn't make any sense at all. There's still a lot to come out on this and it's worth keeping an eye on as it's going to get very interesting.
