Hibs raise sporting integrity concerns after the game is postponed

Surely a local park in Dundee had a better pitch we could have played on?

Any rain due next week? It is Scotland after all.

I'd have a lot more sympathy for Hibs stance had they been prepared to act in support of Rangers call for an Independent review into the administration of football in Scotland.

That said, they have genuine cause to raise their concerns since their final position in the League table has substantial financial implications, not just in terms of the payout for places. A top 6 finish gives additional finance through the games against both halves of the Old Firm plus a likely sell-out of a local Derby so ticket sales, hospitality, stadium advertising, broadcasting and catering income are all bound to be significantly greater than would arise if they are playing Ross County, St Johnstone, Livi, etc.

“Sporting integrity” - a forlorn hope.

Eric Drysdale - Dundee FC, heading for buffoon of the season, foot in the mouth award.
Rangers game cancelled due to “climate change”
We are fast reaching a pinnacle of idiocy, that even in my cynicism I would have struggled to believe possible.
Of all the dissembling bullshit ever foisted on football supporters, this is right up there with ‘separate entity’
The sheer mendacity from Dundee FC is jaw dropping. Firstly they say the pitch has lacked investment because they were moving to a new ground. Now Drysdale claims they’re “absolutely committed” to have investment in place for work on the pitch in the close season.
Make up your mind, which is it?
Presumably this promise of sorting the pitch in the close season is to deflect any SPFL disciplinary measures. (How very SNP)
Why wasn’t it done last close season?
If Dundee FC had any sense, they would punt Drysdale back to the SNP forthwith.
He can carry on his intelligence insulting with them.

Mon the Tayside Fire Brigade whose game goes ahead tonight just down the road. They must have a climate change exemption.

If there is an advantage to Cetic in all this with an upside to Dundee , i wouldn't put it past Lawwell having his dirty little fingers in this farce .

Was Nelms not a regular attendee at Parkhead when his father was stationed at Holy Loch or Faslane?

They are right, but the spineless governing body will do nothing about it so they are yelling into a void of incompetence.
As long as (Rangers hating) Shifty McGifty and his protégé Donkeycaster are in charge, they will only make decisions for the good of one club and that isn't Rangers.

Until Scottish football gets rid of Pistol Pete and all his acolytes, Scottish football will continue to be the amateur shit show that it is.

So the next time that Rangers lead on facing up to the SPFL cabal, we can rely on the Spoonburners being on board to end the never ending incompetence. Right?

Stop laughing at the back. As you were.

We will never be allowed to win this League.

That is now blatantly clear
They are certainly doing their utmost to stop us by putting every possible inconvenience (and don’t forget cheating officials in previous OF games) in our way.
Which will make it even sweeter when we DO win it!!!

It might even work against them because big Phil is smart. He will be using this to give a wee bit extra motivation to the players

HIBS have raised strong concerns with the SPFL after the latest Dundee vs Rangers postponement, according to a report.

It isn't just the Ibrox men who are massively inconvenienced by the Dens Park side's consistent inability to host matches at the ScotFoam Stadium.

Now the Edinburgh Evening News claims that the Easter Road side - who face fellow top six chasers Motherwell this Saturday - feel that the Dens Park men have gained a sporting advantage into the bargain.

Dundee are in the box seat in the battle for the final top six spot.

And with their twice-postponed clash with Rangers now set to take place on Wednesday April 17, they will now know precisely what they need to finish in the top half of the league.

All other Premiership sides will have played their final post-split matches this weekend

The SPFL said in a statement that a disciplinary process was ongoing over Dundee's inability to get matches played.

But the impression their closest rivals have is that they haven't suffered any consequences whatsoever - and are in fact benefitting from it.

They claim that they have made their feelings clear in 'robust' discussions with league bosses.

Their unhappiness came after Rangers issued a strongly worded statement hammering the 'negligence and unprofessionalism' of the home club and believe the saga has been MISHANDLED.

It said: "Rangers has written to the SPFL outlining its position following today’s further postponement of the Dundee Scottish Premiership fixture.

The negligence and unprofessionalism demonstrated by Dundee Football Club, where they have repeatedly breached SPFL rules, continues to have a damaging effect on the top professional league in the country.

"In a week where record TV viewing figures were recorded for a match in the same competition, and this evening’s game due to be televised again by Sky Sports, this episode is deeply embarrassing and has also been eminently avoidable."
If it doesn't affect the big tims the S{FL won't care.

%^*& Hibs, but they’re right in this instance.

The offender hasn’t been punished. They’ve been given an advantage
Surely Hibs and most other Scottish clubs must realize now they (and our game) would be in a much healthier state now if they had jumped into bed with big bad Rangers a few years ago - rather than simply rolling over and going back to sleep under Liewell ?? They might not want to admit but they MUST know.

Edinburgh spoon burning Earls cry foul about “Sporting Integrity”? You couldn’t make this sh1te up. Join the rest in dancing to Uncle peter’s tune ya shower of AIDS ridden vermin

Mathematically Hibs could still sneak into Europe, extremely unlikely but the chance is there and they should be rightly jumping onto this as that kind of money can change their entire summer recruitment outlook.

Our letter would have been filed straight into the waste paper bin with that wee Rangers hating toerag Shifty McGifty at the helm laughing and cursing us simultaneously.

There's an obvious solution to all of this.

Get the split to %^*&
I used to be of the same view, but in a title race as tight as this, you’d hate to have a situation where that mob are playing a few teams with nothing to play for, meaning there’s less incentive or urgency.

At least with the split, you’re playing the best in the country, all of whom want to gain a place for financial gain (as much of a pittance as it is) or European places.

I agree, but, this particular split is a farce.
No one knowing how many home and away games they'll end up playing, except us and them, is ludicrous!

Are the round of 33 fixtures all usually played on the same day and time?

If not they don't really have a valid argument

Say if teams have previously been the only game on the Sunday.

I applaud Hibs for speaking up but really this debacle also assists Hearts as it disrupts our Scottish Cup preparations, although in that situation both the teams who should complain would be quite happy for us to be KO.

Broadly speaking though in situations like this its not just the team directly affected but the entire League as it could easily be anyone else and all Clubs should be on the same page in terms of bringing Dundee and the League to task.

That however requires some stewardship and a sense of collective benefit, which no Clubs in Scotland have.

Rangers as a club have worked all year to create a dynamic pursuance of the title in the final phase of the season.

As it happens , the momentum and sporting pressure which we have afforded ourselves to place on celtic , has been removed from us as league leaders , and gifted to them .

We are going into Sundays game with unjust “ burdens of pressure”, we worked bloody hard to place on our opponent, at this pivotal stage in the season.

There is an obvious breach of sporting integrity , that without doubt favours celtic. and Dundee. The SPFL have no place to deny this.

The distribution of rain covers, and historical alleged communications from Dundee , leaves the impression that maximum effort was deliberately not used by the home team , to protect their horrid pitch initially , resulting in the fact our game against them last week , gave them a boost as league leaders. The game up here is corrupt to the core .

Who offered to pay for an independent enquiry into these incompetent fannys? And who rejected that chance? No chance I’m feeling sorry for any of them now. The fact none of them protested against the handing out of league titles and relegating teams when no leagues had been completed says it all.

What happens if we have a player sent off are they suspended for hearts game or is it only in league? Even if only In League could lose them to game against that mhob. Absolute disgrace and a joke from spfl

I think what sticks in the craw is that we all know things would be totally different if this was Celtic.

Calls for Dundee to be punished and forfeit all 3 points would be deafening.

As for "Sporting Integrity"

As Rangers supporters we all know there ain't no such thing.

The Hippocrates of the SPFL is overwhelming, as it’s written in stone they cannot extend the Season! Cast your memory back to when they forced us to play all our remaining games in ten days. Now they’ve set a precedence and illegally given Dundee a sporting advantage, another way to see Liewells Rule over Scottish Football!

They are bang on and Dundee are being given immense amounts of favours by the SPFL. They should have been booted stupid by now and their financial position shouldn't come into it. The SPFL have handled this so poorly it's unreal and that is not a surprise in any fashion, in fact, totally expected.

Dundee have got away with too much already and are a stain on Scottish football under their current leadership. F**king other clubs over to appease a single club is something the SPFL and SFA are quite keen on, this just isn't their usual favourite. However, one owed favours for handing a league to the favourite.

Indeed. Most other leagues in season 2019/20 found a way to finish their seasons with the rightful league champions being crowned.
However, the SPFL couldn’t arrange a vote any quicker to award the title to the Scum
