John Hartson and Barry Ferguson say Sakala should show respect to celtic

Fcuk Barry Ferguson. A rangers legend is double faceted, how you act as a person over a substantial period of time and obviously your contribution the club.

Ferguson has only achieved half of what’s required.

Wee fashion got right under the tims in my works skin the day, had a right laugh listening to them. One of them is a full blown sevconian, old firm denier, yer history is gone, your all zombies etc etc etc type of rattler and he had the cheek to say that what Sakala said was embarrassing and disrespectful. Talk about pot kettle....couldnt mark the cunts neck with a blow torch

Ferguson was always someone that divided the support during both his spells playing for us. He got a ridiculous amount of stick (mostly deserved) during both his spells.

He seems to be the poster boy for a lot of our younger fans as to what captain should be though, even though he was criticised relentlessly when he was in the position.

A lot of people give Tav an unbelievable amount of stick and point to Ferguson as an example of a “proper” Rangers captain but I can promise you right now that Tav would never say some of the stuff that Ferguson has said in the media since his retirement.

Ferguson was an outstanding player for Rangers, possibly the best I’ve ever seen play for us. But his media comments/opinions are a disgrace at times.

loved ferguson when he was playing with us, he seems to have a chip on his shoulder where the clubs concerned because in his head he thinks he should be part of it somehow. He can’t be that daft that he doesn’t realise that alot of the support can’t be bothered with him anymore with the stuff he says in the papers, its as if he tries his best to please them, itl get him brownie points with the in laws i suppose.

Respect for a team and their fans that play every dirty trick on and off the park to get an advantage? Nah am disappointed Sakala let them off lightly when he should have given them the contempt they deserve!

I'm going to willingly forfeit some staunch points her but...I cannot stand Barry Ferguson. Fantastic player the best Scotland have produced in my lifetime. But he comes across as an absolute bellend of a guy. His post playing career has been a series of putting down Rangers employees on coaching staff through jealousy or trying to create a position for himself to "put the cones out" or appeasing the other mob. The way he conducts himself is staggering for a former long serving Rangers captain.

An absolute legend on the park without question.

Off the park? An absolute banger.

Respect? Respect would be taking five minutes to research the origins and use of the term "mob" in countries where tribalism is still very much factor of everyday life and belonging.

The term mob is used to refer to members of other tribes. That's it. Nothing more than a term for a group of people who come from the same tribe.

It's a cultural term, and quite frankly, for ATM heid and shit-for-brains to suggest its disrespectful does nothing more than show them up for the ignorant ingrates that they are.

Then again, these two weapons couldn't point to Zambia on a map. In fact, neither probably knows what a map is.

Respect? Laugh-Out-Loud as the kids say.

Ferguson used to go out his way to shake hands , compliment Lennon .
Lennon quickly worked out that he could get away with denigrating Rangers supporters and the club as a whole during press conferences, then throw back a compliment to Ferguson.
Every time the naivety of our captain made a point of praising him pre match or post match.
Looks like they are still using him to wind up the Rangers fans . Let’s be honest he has become a 19th Century Terrorist media puppet.

He's tarred with the same stick as his brother unfortunately. Despite spending a long time here , knowing Rangers as well as anyone. That we are a club built on standards and tradition, a million miles removed from the other mob.

He also knows the life away from football where as a Rangers player/ ex player you are forced to leed a very very guarded life. That has impacted on him numerous times throughout his career. He's been attacked both on the streets, and also belittled in the media. Despite this, the first instinct is always to appease these demented animals. That's something that will never sit well with me.

Is the supposed to be captaining Rangers at an upcoming legends game? I’d honestly tell him to %^*& off. He never sticks up for us, ever.

Go Radio is a fucking joke as well. If you think Clyde is bad it’s nothing compared to that shit.

"The other mob" is an absolutely tiny dig, it barely registers as banter. Thin gruel for outrage. Maybe the colour of straws from the kiosks will be next up for tabloid rage porn.

Legendary status is not given unconditionally and indefinitely. BF lost the right to be called a Rangers legend many years ago.

Fans have given him the benefit of the doubt so many times, there is no way he comtimualy makes these type of comments without understanding the negative impact on his image with the fans.

He chooses to say nothing when we are described ‘as ‘that club‘ by everyone connected to them yet decides to criticise one player for a harmless throw away comment in the lead up to an OF final.

Shut up Barry.

I suppose some fans will be happy with it he probably still has plenty of skill and quality on the pitch, thats fair enough but captain of a legends team nah not for me. It might not be Barrys fault Celtic control these radio shows and have so much influence but hes happy to be part of it and take the money.

A captain/legend that cant even speak up for the club (on even one subject) on a crap scottish football radio show, that is ridiculous.

If we beat them you can sure he will be quick to say the most important thing is the league thats all that really matters, Davy/Paul/Rob/John.

I stopped reading what Barry Ferguson was spouting years ago. An Outstanding player for the club but has morphed into a man with chips on both shoulders fuelled by his perception that Rangers should still be employing him in some capacity.

We all are aware Hartson has no brains and Barry’s alas are only in his feet. When Fashon says ‘the other mob’ surely it’s plain by implication that we are the ‘original’ mob ( if ‘they’ are the ‘other’). Of course they’ve got to put their name to something to please their paymasters.

Wouldn’t make my bench. In the era you refer to I’d have Gazza, Ian Ferguson and Gio ahead of him all day long before you get on to Tugay, Albertz, Reyna.
I'd have Gazza and Ian Ferguson ahead of the wee prick for a start.

They want all the respect and praise in the world while also having the right to criticise and be snide about Rangers at every opportunity.

Screw that. Calling them 'the other mob' is being significantly kinder to them than they deserve.

Great post, Chester

Barry will happily trot along to the Legends game at Ibrox next month yet any opportunity he has, he's right up their ar$e and slating us for everything.

It's beyond me why he still gets invited to these things. Being a former Rangers captain doesn't mean you get invited regardless of how you treat the club, players & it's fans.
has an ex captain ever been boo'd at a legends game before?

I know Ricksen got it after trying to kill Stevie Smith in a friendly, but coming back as invited guest then getting boo'd?

Barry Ferguson seems to live in this bizarre world in which he thinks if he stays impartial, that everyone will forget he's an ex Rangers captain. An ex Rangers captain that was renowned for not showing them an iota of respect on the pitch. Why he thinks he's in any position to dig out Sakala is bewildering to me.

It's a common thing among ex Rangers pundits though. They seem to spend exorbitant amount of their pundit careers trying to appease both sides of the divide. It's just weird to me. They tend to be overly harsh about us and overly sycophantic towards them. Choosing to critique the most benign comments in the most over the top asinine ways.
Yes an mcoist is a perfect example of that

Ferguson the player - excellent

Ferguson the pundit - gobshite that’ll suck Timmy cock for a few quid

It's tragic to see how he has turned out.

Kicking about lower-league management jobs and tinpot media gigs, a slightly more sentient version of his older brother but with all the same wild takes.

Rangers hero Barry Ferguson has defended forward Fashion Sakala over his recent comments about rivals Celtic.

The Zambia international stated that the Ibrox side are a "better team" than the Parkhead club and also referred to Ange Postecoglou's men as the "other mob".
And the former Light Blues captain has claimed it has all been blown out of proportion and has joked that he would be "worried" if Sakala had said anything different.
Ferguson also pointed to the response from Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers and how that showed the comments were not a big deal.

The American explained in a recent press conference that he had ""no problem" with the remarks.
Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Ferguson said: "I would worry if he said otherwise! I think Carter-Vickers answered it perfectly. It was a good response from him.
"When I seen what Sakala said, (I thought) if I was playing and I saw a Celtic player saying that I would have no problem as well.
"I'm sure if a Celtic player got asked the same question they would answer the same as well. Certainly no problem from my side."
