Fcuk Barry Ferguson. A rangers legend is double faceted, how you act as a person over a substantial period of time and obviously your contribution the club.
Ferguson has only achieved half of what’s required.
He's tarred with the same stick as his brother unfortunately. Despite spending a long time here , knowing Rangers as well as anyone. That we are a club built on standards and tradition, a million miles removed from the other mob.Ferguson was always someone that divided the support during both his spells playing for us. He got a ridiculous amount of stick (mostly deserved) during both his spells.
He seems to be the poster boy for a lot of our younger fans as to what captain should be though, even though he was criticised relentlessly when he was in the position.
A lot of people give Tav an unbelievable amount of stick and point to Ferguson as an example of a “proper” Rangers captain but I can promise you right now that Tav would never say some of the stuff that Ferguson has said in the media since his retirement.
Ferguson was an outstanding player for Rangers, possibly the best I’ve ever seen play for us. But his media comments/opinions are a disgrace at times.
I'd have Gazza and Ian Ferguson ahead of the wee prick for a start.Wouldn’t make my bench. In the era you refer to I’d have Gazza, Ian Ferguson and Gio ahead of him all day long before you get on to Tugay, Albertz, Reyna.
Or maybe like when he was feeding his pal Mark Guidi stories from inside the Ibrox dressing room?Respect Barry? Like when you were chumming up with your mate Lennon?

I don’t have two terms I just have one, Legend. Obviously each to their own as we are a broad church. An absolute legend on the park without question.
Off the park? An absolute banger.
has an ex captain ever been boo'd at a legends game before?Barry will happily trot along to the Legends game at Ibrox next month yet any opportunity he has, he's right up their ar$e and slating us for everything.
It's beyond me why he still gets invited to these things. Being a former Rangers captain doesn't mean you get invited regardless of how you treat the club, players & it's fans.
Yes an mcoist is a perfect example of thatBarry Ferguson seems to live in this bizarre world in which he thinks if he stays impartial, that everyone will forget he's an ex Rangers captain. An ex Rangers captain that was renowned for not showing them an iota of respect on the pitch. Why he thinks he's in any position to dig out Sakala is bewildering to me.
It's a common thing among ex Rangers pundits though. They seem to spend exorbitant amount of their pundit careers trying to appease both sides of the divide. It's just weird to me. They tend to be overly harsh about us and overly sycophantic towards them. Choosing to critique the most benign comments in the most over the top asinine ways.
Ferguson the player - excellent
Ferguson the pundit - gobshite that’ll suck Timmy cock for a few quid
Me twoget myself barred if I comment on our ex captain.,,
