Clyde's greatest ever player
How did he treat him? The big man could be a lazy so and so at times. Dick liked a bit of work ethic and tracking back.
Amoruso fancied his shot as well although think he scored one freekick and then we had to suffer same effort with it hitting wall everytime to 2 seasons
Can't remember the team but I can remember the guy just collapsing and I winced in sympathy. His wages wouldn't have been enough to cover that.I think it was Dunfermline where he got somebody straight in the gonads?
New Years Day game? Some brilliant strikes.
Never will forget the free kick against them.
thought he was man hitting it frim that far out.
Has there been a harder shot hit by one of our players? His first goal would still be travelling now if it wasn't for the net
Yeah we miss that excitement nowadaysThe excitement and expectation every time we got a free kick within 30 yards was immense. Apart from the obvious against the beggars, the one that sticks in my head was a midweek against Hibs where I think we won 4-0. He hit it under the wall who jumped and the ball then rose into the top corner, you'd think he used a 3 wood, it was a thing of beauty.
Aye, what a dayNew Years Day game?
His skill level was excellent, not quite at the level of laudrup or gazza admittedly, but still very high indeed. When he ran with the ball he had the ability to keep it close and kinda curl himself around it as he drove forward. His ability to hit it with such force made opposition players stand off a bit as well, which was a skill all of his own.The big man never had the same skill level or received the same adulation as Gazza or Laudrup, but he had a knack for regularly scoring (usually piledrivers) against Septic and in big European games.

Could have been. I have a vague recollection that it was a team with striped tops.I think it was Dunfermline where he got somebody straight in the gonads?
Didn't know that. How disappointing, it was always a popular venue with Bears, both players and fans. The nile was great, always headed there.
Bloody coffee shop now.

He made shooting and scoring from 30 yards seem easy/normal. Don't think we've had anyone since then be able to do similar.

As you say, not the most skillful player ever to pull on the shirt, but did it consistently in big games. Loved the guy, was gutted when he left!
He was still a much more talented and graceful footballer than he’s given credit for, because people overlook it for his shot power.
