"After signing a short-term deal at the Stadium of Light in January, the 32-year-old striker went on to score two goals in 11 appearances for the Lads.

Yes, he signed a 6 month deal with a Norwegian club after us. He then signed a 6 month deal with Sunderland in January 2020.

As someone said, harsh to judge Lafferty on his Sunderland spell. He was signed to the end of the season, then there was a pandemic. They’re marooned in League 1 and the fact their ownership is a mess, 3 seasons in the 3rd tier, and the financial fallout from the pandemic, they’re hardly likely to be offering the likes of Lafferty a new contract.
Finances depending, I could imagine him at Linfield or Larne next season. Unless the new NI manager tells him there’s more caps for him if he plays at a decent level.
