Lafferty told to find a new club

It’s a shame, not many players get a 2nd chance at Rangers and he had opportunities this season thanks to Morelos’ multiple suspensions and Sadiq being useless but he failed to take advantage and looks to have ruined it for himself thanks to his own laziness and stupidity.

He’ll be kicking himself for the rest of his days once he eventually wises up and realised what he’s thrown away. But good to see us being decisive and clearing the decks for next season.

Hopefully we can get something like this done and avoid a payoff. The big plonker has already been well rewarded for doing little more than taking pics of his tadger and sending them to wee lassies.
 
We should be using a loan option as part of a deal with Motherwell for Turnbull.

Works even better as a loan, because if he finds scoring form again he can play against the tims but not us.
 
Started the season off well enough with a few league, league cup and Europa league goals and then was out the picture. It made sense, I suppose, to sign him at the time, but it hasn't worked out.

We moves on, as does he..........
 
He could have done a job but Rangers career ended soon as he started sending images of himself,disappointed in the boy tbh also quite pissed off he has cost the club financially and bringing embarrassment to the club, soon that basis the sooner hes gone the better

Makes sense. He is the third choice for his position.

If he was to stay on, it would be a 'just in case' type scenario, so no reason to have real budget going there and blocking potential route in for Rudden/Dallas.
 
Met him at the killie game sitting in the hotel at the back the main stand sitting drinking with his mates while the game was on, he's defo for the off.

Agreed.
In his first spell, Walter invested a lot in the potential of a daft young boy. Unfortunately he’s never left that tag behind.

He’s a likeable guy but his Rangers story will be looked back upon negatively because of massive underachievement.
 
The dick-pic thing is pretty astonishing, in all honesty. How someone who's been at Rangers - twice - wouldn't consider the likelyhood of them making it into the public domain shows a level of stupidity I have a hard time grasping.
 
Went from sublime - goal in Villareal - to ridiculous - the rest of the season. I'd rather see us playing youngsters instead.

Apparently upto his old tricks again.Not got a pot to piss in and his brother in law O’Dea bailed him out on numerous occasions.
 
The big man would've been a great signing when he was out of contract.
More wasted money, transfer fee, wages and payoff no doubt, coz we can never seem to sell players for a fee

We should loan him back to Hearts or even to Motherwell. It’ll cost us the same and he won’t be able to play against us.
 
Disappointed it didn't work out but wish him all the best he's a Rangers man and I'll never forget him helping us win the league during his first spell with us
 
Gerrard clearly demands a professional attitude as a bare minimum from his players, and Lafferty just doesn't have it.
 
Didn’t work out for him or for us. I’m sure when he reflects on his career in the future he will realise he had great opportunities in his own hands but failed to capitalise on them fully.
 
Ability is nothing without attitude.
Sadly, supporting the club isn't attitude enough.

He will regret blowing this chance for the rest of his life.
 
Should never have been brought back and hopefully lessons have been learned.

The lad will never grow up, far too inconsistent and injury prone.
 
His first 8 months of the season were probably no different to his previous stint with us. Only problem this time is he didn't find his form in an end of season title charge.
 
Don’t understand the clamour to get rid of him! Better player than all of those we have been linked with so far IMO! I would give him one more chance.
 
Never really fitted into a team other than with NI when the ball was punted up the park and he ran after it and just generally dribbled it as far as he could. No idea if he integrated well into team and culture off the pitch but I suspect not.
 
Think the dick pics killed it more than anything. Gerrard seems like a family man and won’t put up with that sort of shit, in my opinion.

Hahahaha you have put that h in the wrong place. Greg Stewart pishes all over Lafferty never mind Gray or Welbeck, and that is just ability wise without considering the fact Lafferty is a scrotum of a person it seems.

I don’t get all the pity it didn’t work out or all the best messages of support.

The reason it didn’t work out was due to his attitude and messing around. I’m speaking as one who wanted him back, on his day he can be a real handful but unfortunately he wasn’t here to knuckle down and help the team.

It 'never worked out for him' cos he is brainless and doesn't have the right attitude to play for Rangers.

He will have earned hundreds of thousands of pounds off us over the years and contributed not a great deal in return. To say you are gutted for him when it's entirely his own fault is a bit strange.

I'm not one for needlessly slagging players or ex players or name calling, but nor am I one to blindly worship anyone who has been employed by us. He has earned a fortune off the support and quite frankly treated the club and the manager with a total lack of respect, so %^*& him.

No matter what people will say about him, the main problem ever since MW was the 4-3-3 line-up with players not really suited to it. It may be modern and cool and whatnot, but four managers have trialed and essentially failed in adapting the team to this system. When in fact certain games sure required a 4-4-2, 3-5-2 or even 3-4-3, not least against teams that hardly caused any attacking threat.

Waghorn, Garner, Cummings, Herrera and now Lafferty were hardly suited (nor really ever played) for that ... say "Lewandowski role" of the lone striker with two guys like Ribery and Robben on each flank.

Morelos was the first who grew into it, but only when Arfield, Candeias, Kamara, Davis and Kent started to click we started to dominate games and win them.

IMHO, and no matter his antics when being benched for months, Lafferty was seriously under-used, as he was sure able to hold his own in the Premiership environment and was scoring goals from the edge of the area too. Something we have missed ever since Tav`s first season with us.

No harm to the lad, best of luck wherever he goes.
