Lennon is clearly a shell of a man, suffered from the abuse at the hands of his own clubs fans, notwithstanding being an odious individual.

This is a moment where we should have nothing to say otherwise we look comparable with the kind of people who go to the back of an empty stadium to celebrate the death of an old man during a minutes silence.

We can be better than this. We must be better than this.

A couple of points here though about what separates Gazza from Lennon. The first difference being, there wouldn't be a yahoo anywhere making excuses for him. It would be full on hatred.

Then you have to ask why? The bigotry card? As for behaving towards the yahoos in a sectarian manner? A nano second of invisible flute playing, that's our lot. It shouldn't even rate in the same sentence alongside two decades of Lennon.

Ach, I'll throw in a third point. Why do you thiink you lot at Tynecastle were on his 'to do' list as well? Remember your lot got no little grief because of the histrionics of this little rodent over the years.

The fact is Gazza was an international footballing celebrity, his demons have been well documented and his fall from 'grace' ,if you could call it that, was always going to happen in the publc eye. Doesn't make it right but such are the times we live in.

Going off on a slight tangent. There are morons out there whose first thought will be to video a car crash instead of trying to help the people in the car. That's our world right there, so a video of a drunk kinda pales into insignificance for me.

Getting back to the argument at hand. Lennon is simply a bigoted little scrote feted only in West Belfast, the Calton, the gallowgate and the majority of yahoos here in the cheap, green place.

I must have missed this grudging respect from our fans towards O' Neill. He was every bit this bigot that Lennon is but was more astute as to how he put it across

My original point is the guy making the video is a wank and I stand by that, that is all.

The lad who took the video also shouted the comments and he got a kick in the shin from the big guy who was coming towards him.
Lennon had been shouting, swearing and abusing the bar staff for ages before he started filming that video, after they refused to serve him and the two blokes who were with him any more drink.
It went on for quite a while after he stopped filming, with Lennon and his two pals eventually being escorted out of the hotel

Ok to put it another way O’Neil never spoke of his life being a living misery cause he was from northern Ireland and a catholic unlike Lennon who likened it racism. Sure if we are bad as he makes out O’Neill would have got the same stick.

That does sound very much like Lennon as anybody who has ever seen him out can confirm.

As ever, when he behaves badly - whether it’s terrorising women, abusing people trying to do their job, picking fights with all and sundry before playing the victim or generally behaving like a Ned - the alleged mental health issues get rolled out.

I don’t know either way of course but I have to say I doubt the mental health issues are real. I think he’s a spoiled and overgrown child who needs constant attention and who has had too many people lining up to excuse his consistently disgraceful conduct all his adult life. That happens all your life and you genuinely begin to feel norms just don’t apply to you.

Does this mean its ok now to have a drive down to a hotel in Carlisle, get drunk, stay the night and then come back the next day?
i have another week off work and looking for something to do next week.

It’s a drunk guy and that’s it. It may well over time turn out that he is an alcoholic and that’s when it would be wrong to mock an illness he has. At the moment it’s a fud being steaming and if it was an ex Rangers player it would’ve been the same from them. What they’re doing by introducing issues into the mix is using their manky manager to try to make us look bad on the back of his actions and at the same time cover up for the fact it’s they who would’ve driven him to the drink, if he has been driven to drink.

Absolute fucking nonsense. To compare Rangers fans having a go at Lennon to their reaction to the death of Prince Phillip is actually incomparable. Where Lennon is concerned he has shown a contempt, hatred and bitterness to all things Rangers, Protestant, British and Unionist over many years, he's set back any improvement in bringing the Protestant and RC communities in Scotland by many years. He is a hate driven bigot.

Prince Phillip was an honourable man who was a war hero, a man who set up an award scheme for the furtherance of young peoples life. A man who helped people, who cared for people. The scum that lambasted a minutes silence for the Duke of Edinburgh are cut from the same cloth as Lennon. Whether Lennon is a shell of a man, as you put it, is his own doing, not mine, yours or any other Rangers fan.

It's not incomparable there is some really shallow biased thinking here.

If you compare Lennon to Philip yes you are 100% correct.

However mocking and wallowing in an alcoholic's humiliation is comparable to celebrating the death of an old man because the venom and spite is related..the judgement goes on when it's time to stop and be quiet..if you want to get into shades of that I'd rather not. We should be bigger than mocking an illness.....mocking Lennon for being odious and having a history of spite and venom against us is spot on.

And if you ever really seen the damage alcohol can do you wouldn't be mocking it. Knock yourself out but don't make really shallow inaccurate references to Bears who are suggesting we should mind our standards.

Absolutely no end goal I'm giving an opinion -you are spot on people have their views and will do as they wish.
However if you bring up the standards debate you will see the same default arguments -you are sticking up for Lennon which is incorrect, you are showing him sympathy which is incorrect or you get a history of how much of a cuunt he is which I'm in total agreement with.

I actually don't even mind people putting the boot in because I get football isn't Mary Poppins but I can't be arsed with the hypocrisy moaning about them behaviour because there's not really massive differences if you don't know when it's time to say nothing.

Whether Lennon stays sober or sane for the rest of his life is of no interest to me. Sober, drunk or any other state of mind will not excuse his obnoxious, bigoted, hateful attitude to many peoples outlook on their politics or religion. I have high standards in my outlook on life, however i also know when to criticise a person due to their reaction to others. In every sense Lennon meets that critieria, too bad if you don't agree on that. In life there's an old saying, ' You Reap What You Sow'. Never so meaningful where Lennon is concerned.
