Somehow I think they’re on a hiding to nothing trying to enforce this next week
Not sure, probably get picked up when you board by the scanners they have - not like boarding a Train over here afterall.

This is true. But it’s only against the rules to drink. Can they stop you just carrying it?Not sure, probably get picked up when you board by the scanners they have - not like boarding a Train over here afterall.
More and more Nations going this way - Poland have stopped it now as well. Sweden can only drink what you buy on board. That’s a new one as you are normally ok to drink on the trains in Spain.
lol, be amazed if they let folk on with it if clearly Booze to be honest. This is true. But it’s only against the rules to drink. Can they stop you just carrying it?
Otherwise it won’t look suspicious at all with me traveling with multiple bottles of cola
Had a look but then remembered to check when the posts were made.Loads of comments on Trip Advisor saying the opposite

My plan too, but I was going to buy booze in Malaga on Tuesday to avoid the inevitable chaos in Seville on Wed.My train departs at 0643 from Malaga, think I might leave the booze until mid-day at the earliest, then full steam ahead!
Aye fair point, never paid that much notice...Had a look but then remembered to check when the posts were made.
I thought it was ok to drink on the train in Spain, that's a blow.
A blow. I’m sure you’ll survive mate
That’s mainly on the plain sadlyI thought it was ok to drink on the train in Spain, that's a blow.
They sell alcohol on board. This has been implemented for the football. I have purchased alcohol in the standard section and got a wine list in first class. Also it’s incredibly rare to see a staff member other than behind the bar in the snack and bar cabin….Not sure, probably get picked up when you board by the scanners they have - not like boarding a Train over here afterall.

Somehow I wouldn't try it.No matter the numbers

Trains will surely have cops on them, no chance would I be risking a burst skull for the sake of an hours waitSomehow I wouldn't try it.No matter the numbers
I don’t. It’ll be strict as %^*& and the police presence pre boarding will ensure no nonsense

Aye last time I went I could buy it on board and took some on, couple of years ago. Not really sure what difference it makes if they usually sell it or not in this situation to be honest. They sell alcohol on board. This has been implemented for the football. I think it's just drinking on the train that's banned. I'm definitely packing an emergency cargo for Seville, just in case the rest of you greedy bassas clear the shelves

They literally sell it beyond security at Atocha. You regularly see old ladies sitting with a cerveza and a bocadillo.Aye last time I went I could buy it on board and took some on, couple of years ago. Still be very surprised if they let you board with Alcohol, can remember going from Paris to Nice in Euro 2016 and everyone getting on who looked like a Football lad was searched. Far stricter in Spain afterall, I couldn't be arsed with the risk of jumping Hurdle 1 (getting booze on board) and then Hurdle 2 (drinking it on board) but each to their own.
I know mate but this is pretty useless for next week? Unless I am missing something. All just educated guesses as to what will happen on this front next week end of the day. They literally sell it beyond security at Atocha. You regularly see old ladies sitting with a cerveza and a bocadillo.
