Partick Thistle win League One

Not that there should have been - but you'll notice that throughout Medialand and Politicsland there's not a single word of criticism of the Thistle fans congregating and celebrating.

I await the oncoming condemnation of people celebrating a title win and the forthcoming outburst of rage in the kiddy on parliament!!

Ian McCall is a huge fraud of a manager and they’ve made hard work of what should have been a walk in the park for them but they were relegated in equally fraudulent circumstances so turnabout is fair play.
While I hate McCall for being a mentally challenged bootlicker why should it have been a walk in the park? Falkirk will be on a similar budget to Thistle I'd imagine and you also have Airdrie who are full time and clubs like Cove, Peterhead and East Fife who also pay a bit of cash.

Well when you drop down into a lower League and retain most of your playing staff from the previous season you are automatically favourites. Keep in mind Thistle were hardly the worst team in that League (as is usually the case with relegated teams) which should made it even easier for them. Not to mention the other clubs in the division they went into are slightly North of Sunday League.

Thistle have made hard work of the whole season and not so long ago looked like theyd struggle to get promoted again. Luckily for them some of the other contenders decided to have a meltdown and they moved up. They took their chance when it came so well done but it was way harder than it ever had the right to be.

Funnily enough Ian McCall echoed your thoughts in his post match, quickly dismissing the idea Thistle shouldve found it easy because that wasnt the case. Actually it was but acknowledging that would be an admittance of his own woeful management skills and he is an expert at explaining why its never his fault when its his fault.

If you knew much about the situation at Thistle then you'd know that their biggest issue was turning the club round after the dross that Gary Caldwell had signed up whilst manager.

I'm no great fan of McCall as an individual but he is clearly a capable manager, particularly at Championship level.

Clearly capable of being sacked and fighting, unsuccessfully, relegation at Championship level. Multiple times.

Even better that they are taking that wank, Mulraney's teams place. Hopefully, Kelty can take Brechins place now and Stranraer go back up via the play offs.

Justice for the 'Harry Wraggs'
and the Jambo's also good luck to Stranraer.
Along with the Queens eleven all unfairly treated last season to keep the hierarchy and support of the great unwashed happy.

I’m interested. Maybe a summary?

Will do my best.
We had a decent team under Peter Houston in the Championship , up against Rangers, Hearts and Hibs we done more than I expected and got a few decent results.
Notably finishing runners up to Rangers ( Hibs 3rd ) , then the following season runners up to Hibs ( Dundee Utd 3rd )...adding into that we made the Scottish Cup Final in 2015 against ICT.
The decline started in the 2017-18 season.... we didnt get off to the best of starts , no wins in our first 7 or 8 games.
Bottom line is that it didnt improve much and Houston was sacked ( at the time probably the right decision, but hindsights a great thing ) and they brought in Paul Hartley.
Ended up 3rd or 4th bottom.
The following season... absolute disaster.
Hartley decides to sign a bunch of players from the English lower leagues without even seeing any of them play.... they were so far out their depth that the fans couldn't give them too much stick as it was clearly Hartley's fault not theirs.
Thankfully that cnut got the boot and they got Ray McKinnon in who steadied the ship a bit, got a few players in January transfer window.
He ended up trying to draw his way to safety instead of going for wins..... relegated to Div 1.
We also had the board make one of the craziest decisions to close down the academy.
Eventually McKinnon got the chop and in came 2 ex players as joint managers ( Lee Miller, David McCracken )... not a system I felt would work but had to give them a chance.
Things started ok , but not spectacular.... all we wanted was back into the championship asap, so for me pretty football goes out the window.
Then covid hit while we were 1 point behind Raith, and we still had to play them one more time at home.... decision made to award them the title .
This season has been up and down, but the players in most supporters eyes have just been going through the motions, when efforts needed, they go missing.
Some of them think they are to good for the league... fvkin clowns.
Raging more as I go through this ..lol
Going to end on a few things.... managers summary

Houston - good manager for us , had some great games, attacking football, had a bad spell and was sacked.

Hartley - absolute fvckin tramp who will never ever in his lifetime be welcome back at Falkirk.
He is probably lucky that no fans are allowed in stadiums this year when he visited with his team Cove Rangers as I seriously think someone would have had a pop at him.

McKinnon - Draw specialist, afraid to take risks when you need to.

Miller & McCracken - experienced players but way to early for managers role... I'm biting my tongue as I dont want to be too hard on them.

Overall we need a clear out from top to bottom.

They decided they would go down another route.
Which in turn gave the tramp a chance to bring in those absolute bomb scares.
We are still paying a price for that decision and will be for a number of years.
We have a couple of investors putting money in and there is talk of opening the academy again.
But as most know.... building up an academy takes a number of years.

One of the big problems this season has been the likes of Mo Gomis just not having the legs any more to do what they wanted from him. Defensively, they've struggled since letting Buchs go last summer. Losing Aidan Keena to injury hurt them a lot too.

The Academy is a definite. Gary Holt spoke about it to me fairly recently. Appointed a manager to take charge of the development squad and starting from there and working down the age groups afaik.

Closing the Falkirk fc and the central academy was a ridiculous decision at the time

Worst thing Falkirk ever did was leave Brockville.
They used to scud the tims their regularly.
Great ground for a sash bash.

Loved those days mate.
Whenever we played Rangers there would be a squad of us ( a mix of Falkirk and Rangers fans ) make the day of it... mostly in the old Commercial Bar.
Onto the game...result was mostly a Rangers win...maybe we got a draw once.
Those days out stopped though when we moved to that new stadium.
One wee cool story though.
We played Rangers at Ibrox in the 90's and got a 1-1 draw.... Peter Godfrey ( our cb and a huge Rangers fan ) scored for us first after maybe 5 minutes.
My usual Saturday night was spent in the Grangemouth Rangers Club, so I decided to go in right after the game.
An hour or so later Peter comes in, grabs a pint, sits down at our table.
Then proceeds to tell us that he fucked up his own coupon as he had Rangers down for a win.
Yea I know... cool story bro

I stayed in Denny, service bus thru, Victoria wine then the game.
Cargo for the service bus back.
Always seemed to be Sunny.

Good lad is Peter

Agreed.
Everytime Gomis played the tempo slowed down to his pace... no good.
Buchanan was a good cb , his loss was felt.
Keena not really got going , as you say to injury.
Had a few other injuries, but we had a good lead and have spectacularly blew it big time.

Like your humility in defeat mate, definitely unusual in Scotland and respect for your avatar which looks good as well.;)

Ps Feel free to inform us all about how shite your team is anytime though. :D

Only joking mate, I know Falkirk's a good Proddy town and agree with you, I'm also glad that Thistle and Hearts won their leagues after the way they were treated by the fucking spfl.

We really are shite mate.
Falkirk 1 v Montrose 2
2 point lead over Montrose.
Could now struggle to make the play offs.
We play Airdrie away next and Montrose are away to Partick...hopefully Thistle will not be in holiday mode.
12 years ago we were playing in the Scottish Cup Final v Rangers ( Nacho Novo scored the winner ) ...ffs, how we have fallen so far.
Sad and angry days throughout right now
