Other than a purple patch under BJK they've only been a European final once in the last 51 years the same as Dundee Utd and Aberdeen have accomplished in that time yet they still think they are some kind of superpower within the game.

Currently they've spent more than every team in Scotland combined just to simply finish above Rangers in one of the worst leagues in Europe and it's somehow lauded as some kind of fantastic achievement under flange?

Sure domestic success is important but I'd honestly be raging if any Rangers manager had spent that kind of money flange has and went an entire calendar year without even one win in European football.

Hypothetically, if hearts uncovered an absolute gem of a player who they then sold for £50m and that entire £50m was spent on the team for a net spend of 0, and they then went and won the SPFL with their new £50m squad (whilst being pumped in Europe) would we all be sucking off Robbie Neilson for being the bestest manager ever, or would normal folk understand that having that amount of money to spend on this league provides a massive advantage.

tbh I think that would be a very impressive feat even if Hearts did spend £50m. they'd be the first team in 30 odd years to pip rangers and celtic to the title, and league success absolutely requires a good football manager as money only goes so far. not the greatest example for your argument lol.
