There is fan zones for 3k additional fans being allowed outside hampden as well.

At least this takes away the 'Rangers did nothing/encouraged supporters to congregate' angle. Or it would if it was covered in the press with the same enthusiasm as they slagged us.
 
So everyone was accepting that fans would meet and Rangers tried to take the initiative to ease any issues. Yes, telling what we already know. Hell, i can even get the SNP refusal given rules etc.
However why did the SNP and the now politicised Police Scotland not then reach out to Rangers and the fans group and work to ensure the march and gather at the square went smoothly?
To be very firm so that an agreed message was sent that if we were gathering there would be a strict alcohol ban.
Searched before entry into the square like any other major event.
Plod and the SNP knew what was going to happen and let's face it most of us knew the bams would ruin it if alcohol involved..

The fact the SNP & Plod were happy with that should worry us all.

They should have least compromised to have about 4 or 5k at least..
We all know if a certain favourite team of theirs requested it, we all know what the outcome would have been.
 
They put in writing they ‘can’t jeopardise this with mass gatherings in breach of COVID regulations and public health advice’.

However, they encouraged people to gather in the Southside and praised citizens for breaking the law.

They then sanctioned the PLO anti Jewish hatred mass demonstration in a place that was ‘destroyed’ the night before.

They are a bunch of bigoted zealots.

I hope that one day the UK government wake up to this bigotry and hatred and if they hate the union that much, we decent Scots can take sides and fight the vile bigots in a real war.
 
Imagine our 'Fan Zone' proposal had also been accepted and we could have had a regulated number there too.

This has the grubby paw marks of the SNatziP all over it.

The Scottish Executive (people need to start calling them by their real name) are not going to allow any meaningful crowds into football or any other sport anytime soon.

2 days after moving to McTier 2, they're already threatening to move areas back to McTier 4. We are trapped in a vicious circle unles Boris holds his nerve against SAGE to keep to the roadmap.

If Boris blinks first, then we are gonna have more of this crap despite the vaccines doing their job - reducing death and hospitalization.
 
I asume our buffoon justice minister had no knowledge of this request? After his rant about Rangers not doing enough? He must of either missed the request or more likely chose not to acknowledge it. F.ucking prick.

Released on a day that football grounds across England are welcoming fans back. Currently 10,000 Manchester United fans in Old Trafford.

The Scot Gov had zero solutions, other than the doomed stay at home orders and stonewalled every viable Rangers led initiative.

A total fucking stitch up.
 
They could have reached a compromise, no reason why that figure could not have been cut down to say 5k.
Rangers viewpoint was spot on, only x amount allowed in so do not come to the stadium.
Also a fan zone zone could have been implemented somewhere and been a ticket affair etc to control the crowds but that would not have suited their agenda.
 
People often say with respect to Scottish politics (and not without reason) that you're an idiot if you allow the football team you support to influence your politics.

What message does it send when the people in government seemingly allow the football team they support to influence their politics?
 
Sturgeon always said she would be lead by data not dates. Everything I hear from her and her governemt only every indicates dates for x y and z.

If the data allowed fans into the stadiums on the 17th I'm not sure how different the data would have been for the 15th.

The numbers could have been reduced. It could have been spread out over a fortnight. I'm sure the players and fans would have been happy with this. Could have had a morning and an evening slot.

Turns out they weren't open to sensible solutions. They wanted to play the blame game.

They got what they wanted. Pity the media won't acknowledge the lengths Rangers went to in order to mitigate anything untoward happening.

this is just one instance but take GS at the weekend . estimated 10 k there and why were the benches left in place ,particuarly after the last time and why no proper provision for litter disposal.
simple ,they wanted seats broke again and wanted the place left strewn with litter ,just as they really wanted 10 k in town so that they could jump all over us when the inevitable few bams had a barney after too much drink .this is a dirty war ,get used to it for it won't stop any time soon.

Club should be making sure that’s published and then they can tell the detractors to ram it. They clearly tried their best and instead it’s been an all out attack when the inevitable happened.
 
A request like that but unlikely to be granted BUT it shows everyone, not that they will care mind you that Rangers were in discussion and trying to find an alternative because fans were going to gather regardless of what anyone said.
 
But gathering in groups to support a politicised issue tainted by mob rule and a protest about something to its got nothing to do with us in the city square is ok, right?
