After training, get a penalty kick comp going, to wind down. Work out stats from that, and who has best average. Will also keep the keepers up to the challenge.
First one that sprung to mind for me.In terms of importance, Andy Penman missed a few.
Morelos?I think someone else should be taking pens now after Roofe
Sakala takes them for Zambia,I always like to see a striker hitting pens
If anything it helps with confidence and has the added bonus if inflating their numbers
He missed one at the cesspit in September 78. Ballooned it over at the yahoo end.alex miller done well for a while but cannot find the stats

From memory he also missed in the 79 Scottish Cup Final replay against Hibs.He missed one at the cesspit in September 78. Ballooned it over at the yahoo end.
Newcastle at Ibrox always springs to mind. Can still remember listening to the radio that night, always hated their goalie after that.In terms of importance, Andy Penman missed a few.
Missed two in a game we were awarded 3 mate.Did Barry Ferguson not miss 3 in one game?
Do not share facts like this! FF does not like them! By all accounts tav is shiteRoofe's conversion rate for penalties is circa 69% (9/13).
Tav's conversion rate for penalties is circa 75% (33/44).
Messi is circa 78% (103/132).
CR7 is circa 84% (143/171).
It was 2-2.Missed two in a game we were awarded 3 mate.
Arteta scored the third. Was either 2-2 or 3-3 at Dens Park.
No, but Martin Palermo did.Did Barry Ferguson not miss 3 in one game?
Agree. If the keeper goes the right way they have a good chance unfortunately. He’s a good ball striker but the run up means they don’t get hit with any power.I hate his run up, it’s time for change.
John Rowbotham loyal !Missed two in a game we were awarded 3 mate.

I always thought Alex Miller was left footed, but seem to remember him always hitting penalties with his right.alex miller done well for a while but cannot find the stats
I raise you Trevor FrancisHis run up is less 'scary' that Roofe's which gives me the shivers every time.
That’s why I was sad not to see Itten given the secondI think someone else should be taking pens now after Roofe
Sakala takes them for Zambia,I always like to see a striker hitting pens

Big Lorenzo tooI raise you Trevor Francis
First things first, any penalty that goes in is a good one.His first penalty was terrible too. Keeper made a mess of it and dived over the ball.
Itten should have taken the 2nd one.
They do, but why?It was a poor penalty last night some clubs change the second penalty taker
They do, but why?
Don’t you think that a different penalty taker faces the same pressure.
The keeper is asking the same question either way.
”The last one went that way, he might change it / he might think that I think he might change it so he won’t.”
Same question applies to any second taker.
I want to see my players fighting for the ball
Tav didnt need that pen or the second. Screamed selfish to me
I do know where you’re coming from.I think they do it for a few different reasons and tbh, I think I’d change the taker if I was a manager. There are two reasons why I would do it.
First is that I think there is added pressure on the taker for the second penalty due to them possibly overthinking the mind games.
My main point though is that the goalkeeper gets an up close look at the takers technique/run up etc and could have a better chance of guessing which way the taker is going to go second time around.
Good point that there will be plenty of stats on his penalties so maybe we should have a few rotations.I guess it must be difficult. He’s taken so many penalties now, that surely GK’s in the league will have studied where he normally puts them, ‘tells’ in the run up/eyes from previous videos. I know I would have.
Just having taken that volume might be reason to switch takers for a while to mix it up.
Young Lowry was buzzing. I'd have let him buzz even more by slotting a secondI wanted Itten to hit it as well. Even though he got his goal in the end he’d missed a couple of chances before that.

You would think a striker would be best candidate to take penaltiesI think someone else should be taking pens now after Roofe

Stats are in post #47. Tav's success rate after 44 penalties is circa 75% - that's very good in comparison to most given the number he's taken..Good point that there will be plenty of stats on his penalties so maybe we should have a few rotations.
Very good record indeed, quite surprised there’s any debate over it.Stats are in post #47. Tav's success rate after 44 penalties is circa 75% - that's very good in comparison to most given the number he's taken..

There is no such thing as a bad goal scored for your team.
Secondly, why Itten?
Does he have a proven track record of success that I’m unaware of?

Can alter the sample size any way to suit your argument though, for example his record for the last 4 is 75% I think.I think the issue with Tav taking them is that his recent record isn’t that great. His record for his last 10 pens is probably about 50%.
I don’t like Roofe’s run up either.I hate his run up, it’s time for change.
Fair to say he 50% for his last two ha ha. He's missed 3 out of his last 10 - so still 70%. In fact those three are over his last 16 penalties, so that would be a success rate of over 81% in that period of 3 misses. One on Friday, one against Ross County last January and one against Aberdeen the same month. That's excluding penalty shoot-outs I think.I think the issue with Tav taking them is that his recent record isn’t that great. His record for his last 10 pens is probably about 50%.
As a rule I'd go for a striker but I'll never forget Kenny Miller's dreadful straight down the middle miss against Inverness, 2010, ended 1-1. A few months later the latter beat Celtic so the league got won. At the time I thought he'd blown it for us, but we got off with it. SDTM pens should be banned !!!Morelos?
We’re you comfortable with Kenny Miller?
It’s an individual skill, in my opinion.
I’m not sure there is a particular position on the pitch that would cover the quality for a better penalty taker than any other.
