Where were they all at the weekend when Chris Boyd was abused by the Celtic fans ?

Kilmarnock boss hit out strongly after last night's Scottish Cup clash at Ibrox and said the West of Scotland is like living in the dark ages.

Rangers have condemned the supporters who subjected Kilmarnock boss Steve Clarke to sectarian abuse in Wednesday's Scottish Cup clash.
And manager Steven Gerrard has echoed the club's statement after Ibrox chiefs warned they would do "everything possible" to eradicate bigotry.
Clarke was furious after being labelled a “19th Century Terrorist b*******” from the stands as his side crashed out of the cup.
He mocked Rangers for claiming sectarianism was a thing of the past in talks after they offered him the chance to be named successor to Pedro Caixinha last season.
And he said the West of Scotland was like living in the dark ages.

Rangers issued a statement late last night condemning the abuse.

And, responding to issue at this morning's press conference, Rangers boss Gerrard said: "I wasn't aware of how Steve was feeling after the match when we met up for a beer.

"The club has issued a statement and we don't support any kind of unacceptable behaviour from the terraces.
"We want to try and stamp it out of the game in general so we’re always talking about the football”.

A Rangers spokesman said: “Rangers Football Club wishes to make it clear unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated at Ibrox.
“Everything possible will continue to be done to eradicate this kind of behaviour.”
Clarke's blast was backed by anti-sectarianism group Nil By Mouth this morning.
And pundit Michael Stewart also offered his support to the Killie boss saying it was time to bring in strict liability - where clubs can be punished for the behaviour of their fans.
He said: "This is a great country we have here. But we have a cancer and we have to stamp it out."

Record Sport columnist Chris Sutton added: “I love Scottish football but Steve Clarke is spot on to call out sectarian abuse.
“It is still a huge issue and we shouldn’t bury our heads in the sand.
“The people dishing out the abuse should be called out for what they are and dealt with...it is disgusting.”

Then they all crawl “out “from under their stones, there’s been lots of similar incidents over the last few days, but nothing until the big bad RANGERS,progress in the cup!give us consistency and a level playing field.

Meanwhile, on the roof at Pacific Quay ......

"Quick !! Call NbM, Spiers, English, Stewart, Sutton, Hartson etc ....."

Rangers and Gerrard have commented and that's fair enough.

Did the paedos just sweep it under the carpet as usual at weekend?

This selective offence at one type of bigotry whilst laughing off or ignoring another is ludicrous. Hypocritical and reeks of bigotry initself.

Is Sutton talking across the board or is he firing salvos at Supporters, take it it's the latter,no mention of the abuse Boydie was recieving. Rangers have made their position clear,I'm glad they did because it does tarnish our club and like to think the majority of supporters keep the head.

When will we lie down and accept that a certain religious sector in Scotland are allowed to walk all over us.

It's not paranoia, there have been similar incidents from both sides of the spectrum and only one side is continually discussed and condemned.

Kris Boyd incident was only discussed by Boyd in his own article, otherwise it would have been swept as usual. Clarke was really tolerant of the Celtic support given they abused one of his players, broke seats in Rugby Park and invaded the pitch to try and intimidate Jones etc but is really upset and angry about the big bad Rangers saying words that hurts his feelings.

To my knowledge, they commented on the vandalism of broken seats. Not on the chants aimed at Boyd, that's just banter apparently

These no marks ignore Boyd sectarian abuse so their lack of condemnation against the scum fans on Sunday needs highlighted

If they had condemned the scum then fair enough but they ignored it

F.uck them

This is where the “crux “of our problems lie in scottish football, having ex sub standard players, with no top level experience, and no training, and an obvious bias, commenting on our game.

This isn’t about sectarianism. All these feckers who are moaning , have sung plenty of songs in the past. It’s about strict liability and points being deducted. It’s just another front in the cheating war.

Doesn’t excuse the fact we shouldn’t be doing it. Yeah it’s true the Kris Boyd incident shouldn’t have just been laughed off but why do our support think it’s ok to sing crap like that anyway. It’s absolutely moronic and draws attention away from all the good our club does.

I will never understand it. It’s absolute stupidity and I have no time for people who continually sing that sort of stuff.

In the end the abuse Clarke got is totally unacceptable. All the he said, she said, but look what they did last week etc. Is just background noise.

It's 2019 can we not just knock this sectarian rubbish on the head?

Exactly. I don’t understand the mindset of people getting angry that ours has been reported. It’s obviously going to happen. There is zero place for it in modern society.

Clarke knew what he was doing post match. Mourinho and Ferguson were the masters of deflecting attention away from their teams when needed.

"Brave" 1-0 last minute defeat to Sellik - Lets talk about the football
Scudded 5-0 by the big bad Rangers - Oh look, bad songs being sung

It's worked a treat. When reporting on the game last night, Clyde news this morning led with Clarkes comments then as a follow up ".. Rangers won 5-0 with Morelos scoring 4"

Clyde SSB, BBC Sportsound and the rest of the regional news tonight will have last nights game being described in that order

Our pious Catholic media have invented a word - ‘whataboutery’ It means that they decide what’s worthy of discussion and condemnation and any other point of view is just deflecting from said chosen topic. We need some sympathetic journalists or ex players to put our angle across but it’s slim pickings I’m afraid.

You're right, we shouldn't be doing it but when one side gets to do as they please it's hard to just accept it and move on.

We get incidents that are fabricated such as abusing St Mirren fans and ripping up seats at Pittodrie which was mentioned several weeks after we played them and coincidentally a day or two after Celtic supports ran riot at Rugby Park, so even when we appear to be doing well they will still print negative stories whether we give them a reason to or not.

Sectarian chants are Sectarian chants, however you cannot be selective that only a certain type of Sectarian chant can be reported as Sectarian.
That is what is happening, it will never be eradicated unless both are treated the same.
So a lot of that is down to Government, MSM and these groups which are publicly funded.

I don't know Clark but what if he really is a FB would the truth matter?

Another game Rangers have cheated to win, as every win we have is, according to the media.

Realistically what could they have said last night if the singing never happened? Killie were denied a pen and had a man down, once people seen both incidents then the scoreline speaks for itself but as usual we bring scrutiny on ourselves by giving steve clarke recognition and deflecting away from the good on the park

The media could save millions by sacking all their sport's journalists ha ha, and pundits by just picking a random tim in the street after every Rangers game, asking him his opinion on the game, you will get the same answer every time, refs and the linesmen for Rangers, fan's bigoted that's it after every game

Aye, it’s childish and unnecessary.

This is a one way street.

When are we going to take action to turn the direction ?!

Sick of it !!! What a horrible, bitter wee backwater Scotland is.
It is totally political now. Scottish and Irish Republicans doing everything they can to demonise and hurt the quintessential British Loyalist club in the land. Break us and they are helping their cause big time by Breaking up the United Kingdom. If the Church Of Scotland could only step in and speak up now and then to protect it's remaining flock and own future. There are far too many bigots in our media hiding under the cloak of 'journalism'.

I know this will never happen however the club should come out and say they regret that Clarke was offended today but not Sunday and that our supporters villifucatiin by Celtic minded biased two faced hypocricsl agenda driven journalists and news organisations has to stop

We want a level playing field however this countries media are an absolute disgrace who are running the news agenda to the benighted or their chosen club which is cektic

Here is s list of stories where Celtic have been remove d

List them

Here is s list of stories where rangers are added but add nothing to the stirey

Here is a list of tweets by agenda driven journalists
