Another poor performance which was unable to break down a packed defence. I was struck by how congested the Aberdeen penalty box was. There was little space when we got into the penalty box. In one of The Times newspapers last week there was an article about the tactics Aston Villa used to defeat Leicester. One of their players stated that the management and players agreed to get into the faces of the Leicester players and foul them when necessary in order to break up the flow of the game. Is this the same kind of tactics used against us? The Aberdeen foul count yesterday was quite high. The referee was also very inconsistent and let some players off despite the constant fouling.
