What do we think is Morelos’ realistic value, and should we sell him come June?

 If the imposters in the media continue to slaughter him as they have been, they will only be happy to see bids of between 5m - 7.5m or possibly no bids at all. We know he is worth a lot more but he's not firing on all cylinders at the moment for whatever reason. Their character assassination of the boy is a disgrace. C'mon Alfie make them eat their words.

Whist hes great and well loved he has become a target for racist haters, dodgy refs and has become a sideshow and distraction.

I don't really want him to go but probably best he is sold and plays in a country not full of sheer hatred.

25m minimum with sell on and only if suitable signings come in to bolster the squad

Yep, there are lots of examples though, Dembele went for 20 million and he scored regularly against us, in finals, home and away in the Champions League and for the world champions at under 21 level.

Alfie isn’t at that level yet.

How long did Dembele have left on his contract?

If I remember correctly he basically forced his way out of Celtic as well did he not? I'm sure Rodgers had to get him escorted away from Lennoxtown due to him affecting training because of his attitude/behaviour...

Ok mate I'll ban myself the now. What's your valuation and how is 10-15 millions nuts and not realistic at this moment in time?

Because a player having 5/6 poor games (in which he still scored a few perfectly good goals btw) doesn't all of a sudden mean his value halves.

They fact that not even clubs desperate to avoid relegation, or in need of a goal scorer even chanced their luck with an attempt in January tells me there’s some major doubts/concerns about him

Wether it’s discipline or how many simple chances he misses I don’t know but anyone expecting there to suddenly be a £30-40m offer for him are kidding themselves
No one made a bid for Eduardo either or one I never heard of.

I don't think his value has halfed in the slightest I just don't think he's quite worth the 20-30 million being quoted, I think he could definitely be worth that much but I can't see who would pay that at this moklmebt in time I'm not trying to devalue him but if a bid was to come in the now I reckon our support would be rather dissapointed.

I think based on his current form, we'll get nowhere near our valuation. He's shown in recent weeks he has a long way to go before being a top striker.

Dont know, but thanks for advice on former mick players.

WRONG, we all know what hes capable of scoring wise.

Its his discipline which he, helped by the gaffer had successfully got on top of it, but in December it flared up again and are counting the cost of it.

There's a real danger of us undervaluing him now looking at the comments.

Because we're so reactionary, people are now acting like he's not as good as we thought he was on here.

Sure he's going through a rough patch, but that won't last forever. The biggest reason we still have a game to look forward to tommorow is Alfredo Morelos. We valued him around £20 million when he was single handedly hauling us through the group stages...the idea that he's worth half that now because he's going through a tough spell is absurd.

Teams from other leagues will never pay 20 million for Morelos just because he has had a run of games for a number of months whereby he was scoring goals. They look at our league as a diddy league that any striker should score in and quite rightly so..

I reckon if we got 10 million for him we would be doing well..

He,s reducing his own reputation and value with his discipline ,he cuts it out plays against Braga and scores more limelight all is forgotten, but unfortunately his petulance is costing the club.

Hang on a minute ... his discipline was acknowledged as being better in the lead up to beating the mentally challengeds, the word 'petulance' had to a large degree, vanished. Morelos was scoring tons in Europe and yet, he was still getting slated.

Then the OF happened and all of a sudden we had a massive witch hunt against the lad and 'petulance' is suddenly a word again.

If he'd have not got suspended for the Braga game and scored, lets for the sake of argument say twice, do you honestly think 'all would be forgotten' by the mentally challenged press in this country?

I don't, not for a minute. He's a marked man in my eyes and he won't get a break until they drive him out.

If guys getting moves down south like Wesley who got signed for £22m and even worse Joelinton for £36m then I think we should still fancy our chances at getting £20m+ for Morelos!

He is in a bit of bad form at the moment, but let’s hope we finishes off strongly. Unfortunately we have seen similar downward trajectory in form the past two seasons at this stage so let’s see what happens.

He has to go and for a few reasons. He is good enough that we can build a team around him but when he does not play or when he is off form, we have no way of replacing him. We would be far better finding a formation and tactic that suits our other 9 outfield starters and using the significant money we would get for him to strengthen properly in a couple of areas that still need work.

I love the wee guy but the sideshow that has developed around him has also pretty obviously been a significant distraction.

I think we need to cash in on him while his stock is high.

He will be away in Summer, that’s for sure. Has anyone else heard about the rift between him and Gerrard?

Morelos has undoubtedly been an incredible singing. Fair play to the scouts who went to Finland and picked him out.
He has been with us now for almost 3 seasons, and has been worth his weight in gold for the most part.
However, given the importance of next season, and the improvements we need to make to certain positions, would selling Morelos help us improve the squad as a whole ( cutting of the arm to save the body effectively) and if so, what would we all realistically expect to get for him?
On present form 3m as he is way way off the pace . Before Xmas we could write the blank cheque for him . End of the day it’s up Alfredo . If he wants out and to make it abroad or England he needs to get his head sorted and get back scoring , preferably against the scum ( as more high profile ) . Sadly I don’t think he’ll be playing in Europe this season again but then .. you never know

He has been great for us most of the time but would we be better off selling him and replacing with 3 or 4 players bought for around £4m each?

We are too reliant on him and shouldn't be in the position where we are hopeless if he is suspended or on a bad run of form.

Nobody on here has a clue. All we can say for certain is that he's been here for nearly 3 seasons now and outwith a bid from China, nobody has bitten yet. He's been watched by most teams in Europe at some point so there is clearly an issue. I doubt after all this time with teams not bidding, 25-30m bids are going to land on our desk for him.

It's crazy that nobody came in for him in January as he was sensational for most of the first half of the season and banged in plenty in Europe which is what mosts teams will be interested in. They don't care for him getting doubles and hat tricks against Hamilton and the like.

It's a weird situation all round imo.

Every player goes through a bad patch!
to say he’s now worth £5-£10m is none sense. He’s score 30 goals 14 being Europe I’m sure and one for his country the rest Scotland half his goals scored at a top level. I think we’ll still get £20m mid table Spanish,Italian,German and English teams will take 15-20 goals a season striker no bother and have the money to burn. If you know the game of football then you know Morelos has got it that’s why he’s now in the Columbia squad playing with stars.

There will be very few outwith the club that will know what's happening behind the scenes - it was very well documented that we wouldn't be doing any business in January for Morelos, and that extended to Barisic, Kamara etc

It might be a case of come back to us in the summer, which might be risky ie. we might get less than what we would have gotten in January.

I do think we are at the stage where it's best for both parties that he should move on if a suitable bid comes in the summer.

Teams knew he wasn't for sale though.

Same as Edouard across the city. Cracking player, zero bids.

Proclaimed by some over the course of a four, five month period to be the greatest Rangers player this millennium, and yet not one club came in for him at Christmas.

Hmm.

Interesting to see people start to backtrack now - anyone suggesting 30, 40 million now? - as I think he's either not going to go to another club or will leave for a significantly lower fee than many are predicting.

I suspect that no one else out there thinks he's as good as the fans of the teams that he plays for, which is a fair enough bias, I suppose.

£23m if he goes to the Prem - £18m to Spain or Italy. I reckon that’s what clubs will price him at - I’m. It suggesting that’s what should be accepted but I think that’s in the ballpark - I think the key for sale will need to be negotiated add-ons and sell-on fee.

It really pains me to say it but he looks overweight and disinterested. Perhaps he needs tomorrow night off to reset and come back with a bang against hearts.

He seems like a confidence player to me, someone who needs to be scoring and doing well. He needs a wee run of goals and I'm confident he'll be back to his best.

can't see an easy replacement if we have to get rid of as many players, as everyone on here wants rid of tonight.

I think the time for a daft money return has come and gone for Morelos.

He's clearly a handful to manage and it's not hard to string together a case that he's a liability and will let you down in big moments (I'm not saying that tells the whole story, just that enough evidence exists to portray it that way).

Teams will know he wants away after today. We'll get 10-15 mil, which is criminal.

I think we're back at the "lucky if we get £10m for him" stage now.

If he really does want away, teams will bid accordingly.
