21 year old he was clearly a signing to develop for the future and looked a powerful center midfielder. He wasn’t really a weird signing on a free and full of potential.
Indeed. Free, not high wages, young.

So who did you see him displacing in the team? he was signed from Bournemouth same as Simpson i still think it was a weird signing.
Yeah you’re right mate it’s approx 15 months. He missed a chunk of the previous season at Wycombe. He only signed last summer so whats with 2 years?
Medicals aren't as stringent as a lot of people seem to think they areI haven’t heard this but hopefully this is the case. I think we got lucky Goldson’s undetected heart issue wasn’t as serious as Ofoborh’s but is there something lacking in our pre contract medical screening or have we just been unlucky?
Makes it all worthwhile. He wrote on Instagram back in January.
“This year has easily been the toughest year of my life.
“All the depression, anger, sadness and loneliness I’ve experienced but extremely grateful for the support from family, friends and teammates.
“It has been a tough year mentally and physically and as you can see a lot has gone on behind the scenes.
“Many doctors said I’m lucky to be here but I don’t believe in luck but the blessings from God. I owe it all to God for aiding me on this comeback trail. I will be back.
“2022 will have better days for us all. God bless you all and Happy New Year.”
There are hundreds of separate heart conditions. This lad obviously has a more complex one than Goldson. I'd imagine the silence from the club is as they have no good news to tell and don't want to make the lads life harder by telling the world hes finished.Just look at our vice captain for proof.
Well. We need to.I hope he makes a full recovery and stakes his claim. If he can’t play again at our level, they’ll look to terminate his contract. It’s a nice sentiment that we’re standing by him, but the reality is we can’t pay 3/4 years worth of wages for nothing in return.
I cant see a recovery unless major surgery took place is applicable. Was wondering if anyone had heard any latest or update regarding the condition of Nnamdi Ofoborh.Glad to see the club sticking by him while he makes his recovery but is that simply to honour his contract or do the club see the boy making a recovery and playing for us? Club have been fairly silent about this one obviously for good reason but I’m curious as to if anyones heard anything or seen any interviews regarding that situation recently.
Imagine the negative press we’d get for moving on a player with a heart condition who may not play again. I think he will see out his contract, with the best medical care we can provide and as it will be covered by insurance anyway and allow him to collect the money and give him a decent respectful sign off.We have a new management team I think he will be moved on or paid off. I wish him all the best.
it’s nothing to do with sentiment, we have a duty of care.If signed on a longish contract then it's yet another mistake from RFC.I doubt that he'll ever play for us therefore we need to get rid of him.No room for sentiment.
Hows it a mistake? We hardly signed him knowing he has serious heart problems. If signed on a longish contract then it's yet another mistake from RFC.I doubt that he'll ever play for us therefore we need to get rid of him.No room for sentiment.
Thought you had no words?I have no words! Thank %^*& we never signed John Candy...
Obviously it goes without saying we all wish him a full recovery and hope he gets his career back on track.Well. We need to.
Hell receive his weekly wage until the end of his contract or be paid off in full.
Either way. We'll pay the money.
And I expect it would be down to the player if he wants to stay on the books and be aided by our medical team. Or take the pay off of full wage, return home and take care of his own medical..
I wonder what world some people live on with comments like that.
1. Insurance isn't paying anything.Obviously it goes without saying we all wish him a full recovery and hope he gets his career back on track.
However, If he’s physically unable to do his job for health reasons, then there are mechanisms to terminate contracts.
It’s the same if you worked on a building site/worked in a call centre and reached a point where it was clear you couldn’t fulfil your duties. Then there would be a conversation with the HR dept. Sometimes that means alternative duties, and sometimes it means termination of contract.
I wonder what world some people live in thinking we’d just carry someone for another 3 years if they’re confirmed as unfit to complete their duties. There’s no business in the world who would do that.
Youve said either way we’ll pay the money. As many others have commented on here, it’ll be paid by insurance for now. They won’t pay it forever.
He will be getting the best medical advice available. Maybe, if he is unable to play again, he can prepare for his future by doing coaching, or further education.I think he is lucky to have signed for Rangers when he did and the condition was picked up. Think it is safe to say the vast majority of the support is fully behind him even though we haven’t seen him play yet. Always be a few hotheads that go against the grain for attention.

absolutely hate insurance threads on here, so many words typed yet you're miles of the mark.Obviously it goes without saying we all wish him a full recovery and hope he gets his career back on track.

Aye %^*& compassion and common decency.Obviously it goes without saying we all wish him a full recovery and hope he gets his career back on track.

I’m no insurance expert mate, that’s why I said that others have said it. The post wasn’t about insurance, it’s about what could happen.absolutely hate insurance threads on here, so many words typed yet you're miles of the mark.

FFS. How do we "get rid" of a guy who's under contract? And why would we want to just bin a guy at his lowest ebb? From a human point of view it would be terrible, and disastrous from a PR side!If signed on a longish contract then it's yet another mistake from RFC.I doubt that he'll ever play for us therefore we need to get rid of him.No room for sentiment.
You would think he would have noticed if Goldson had missed 10 months of football as a Rangers playerFrom where? There’s literally pictures of him lying in a hospital bed recovering from the articles when we signed him.
Football contracts aren’t remotely comparable to any normal job. When do you sign a 4 year contract on a building site? If we let him go we would still have to pay the remainder of his contract, that’s how they work.Obviously it goes without saying we all wish him a full recovery and hope he gets his career back on track.

Did you actually read your comments before you posted them?If signed on a longish contract then it's yet another mistake from RFC.I doubt that he'll ever play for us therefore we need to get rid of him.No room for sentiment.

More serious than a heart attack that kills you!Goldson only missed 10 months of football.
Eriksen had a heart attack, was actually dead for a few minutes and has recovered and was playing again within 6 months.
The fact this boy has been out for 2 years suggests it’s more serious than that.
The good thing it was caught so doctors and specialist can find the answer. We have seen recently players like Erickson the boy at Spurs collapse on the field. Can’t recall the reasons why Hibs player went down at Ibrox and Durie at Kilmarnock. But remember the quietness.
Agreed and Gio’s latest update looks less that promising.Eriksen nearly died and he was back much quicker than ofobroh has been out, whatever he has must be extremely serious that he can't even train, doubt we will ever see him imo, hopefully we do.
He is entitled to his contract or the equivalent financial package if we end it early.I hope he makes a full recovery and stakes his claim. If he can’t play again at our level, they’ll look to terminate his contract. It’s a nice sentiment that we’re standing by him, but the reality is we can’t pay 3/4 years worth of wages for nothing in return.
Every heart issues is different and maybe this lad has a totally different more serious issue than Goldson.maybe they have discovered he has a condition such as Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy for example.Goldson is the exception not the rule. Not everyone will manage to do what he did.
Darnley not so Loyal.I hope he makes a full recovery and stakes his claim. If he can’t play again at our level, they’ll look to terminate his contract. It’s a nice sentiment that we’re standing by him, but the reality is we can’t pay 3/4 years worth of wages for nothing in return.
I dont think Rangers have any choice given he is under said long contract. The only exit would be to pay his wages in full now and that would paint the club in a rather poor light. If signed on a longish contract then it's yet another mistake from RFC.I doubt that he'll ever play for us therefore we need to get rid of him. No room for sentiment.
Disgrace. Reported.I have no words! Thank %^*& we never signed John Candy...
Do you not think that the player has earned a fair whack from us already ? It may come across fairly harsh however if the player is not going to play for us we then have to look at a way of letting him go in a business sense. Some disgusting, immature posts, lacking any kind of human decency on here.
He's hardly chosen to have such a serious condition, this whole just get him off the wage bill rubbish from some is shocking.

Other players have had there contracts terminated on mutual grounds, this could/should be done also.
Like i said previously there's no room for sentiment in this game.
Admin should just be pinning one and locking it tbhChrist almighty. Thank %^*& you're not in charge of contracts.
Nnamdi Ofoborh threads never end well.
The key word there is “mutual” this happens so the other player is free to move to another club for nothing if things haven’t been working out.Do you not think that the player has earned a fair whack from us already ?
