Lafferty charged by SFA, possible 10 game ban

If that’s the standard the SFA want to adhere to why not put a statement out regarding the abuse Lafferty and various others get from the fhilth,How many Rangers managers and ex players have had to suffer sectarian abuse while playing the fhilth,
Selectarianism again.

Remember Thumbhead was recorded chanting racist abuse about a fellow footballer in Scotland.?

It was far worse than what Lafferty done yet he got a slap on the wrist.

You aren’t meant to set off flares, sing certain songs, piss in the street, and so on.

Thousands still do it on a weekly basis inside and outside football grounds across the world.

If they are putting sectarian stuff on banners it needs reported to police, stewards, complained about and highlighted. But this involves too much work so people prefer to go online and post “ this isny a level playing field “.

The reason there are double standards is because they have been motivated enough to get people in media, positions of influence, people in all walks of life to manipulate rules in their favour and from their point of view. That hasn’t happened by accident.

The answer isn’t just to give up and say” there’s nothing we can do”. Stand idly by while people in work call you a Hun , orange bastard etc. smile as if it doesn’t bother you. We all know the script.

That's the thread i put up after the united match and I was asked, " what do you expect the club to do "? Erm... make a statement on the offensive behaviour and sectarianism by United fans! When we have our own club not that bothered that United fans on that Saturday behaved in a grossly offensive behaviour and chanted sectarian FTQ chants then, why have the announcements about expected behaviour inside our stadium? Are they just for us then?

This would then mean our own club is displaying the same one sided view to offensive behaviour behaviour and sectarian chanting inside our stadium that we as a support face in Scottish society!

The one-sidedness of all these decisions made by the so-called Compliance Officer comes from the top, in my view.

He or she is only there to act as a rubber-stamp.
might explain his resignation and the increase in interference from the SFA.

Kilmarnock Football Club has concluded its investigation into an alleged comment made by Kyle Lafferty which was circulated across social media via a video recording on Thursday, 22 September.

The club can confirm that Kyle regrets his actions and acknowledges that he has let down himself, his family, the club and the supporters.

Kilmarnock Football Club has subsequently taken internal action, including the serving of a substantial fine. The club has also engaged Scotland’s leading anti-sectarian charity, Nil By Mouth, which will work closely with Kyle on a one-to-one basis, in addition to delivering training to our first team squad and academy squad members, to provide education which the charity believes is key to tackling Sectarianism in society.

Kyle has also committed to supporting the club’s community projects which will see him participating in Nil by Mouth’s educational initiatives, in addition to serving Kilmarnock’s ‘Football for All’ programmes on a weekly basis for the foreseeable future.

A Notice of Complaint has now been served and received by the club from the Compliance Officer at the Scottish FA with regards to the player, Kyle Lafferty. This hearing will be heard on Thursday, 20 October 2022. The club will now focus on fully cooperating with the Scottish FA’s investigation.

Kilmarnock Football Club would like to thank Nil By Mouth for their ongoing support in this matter.
They are spineless as a club and McInnes is a pathetic creature as a manage. Kyle Lafferty has been a non stop target for Celtic fans with sectarian abuse being sun inside Killie's own stadium at him and that happened just the other month when killie played Celtic and Of course Killie said nothing..Pathetic.

If it turns out to be a ban by the SFA he better take it to court.
Yes it’s sectarian (allegedly)
But was it not outside of Scotland to start with, on international and not club duty and absolutely %^*& all to do with on the pitch?
If all the above is yes, then they’re opening an extremely huge can of worms.

will this then mean bans for things like driving charges, domestic disturbances etc

Until every single one of us learns that this is only going one way unless we stand up for ourselves it will never change and yes that does include our football club.

Having said that the club itself cannot be used as a lightning rod for every individual act of anti Protestant sectarianism or hate crime. We all as individuals have a responsibility to remove our heads from our backsides and get our side across.

Unfortunately it seems it will take longer than many of us have left on this planet to see anything changing as despite what we have seen happen to our club and Like minded people since 2012 being kicked from pillar to post we still don’t seem to grasp the nettle and are generally still far too passive and uninterested in achieving parity or anything close to it when it comes down to brass tacks.

The truth is there are far less of them but they are better organised, more motivated, more savvy and more up for the fight than we are. That is a generalisation of course but it’s not something we can ignore. As I said earlier you don’t get to where they are politically, PR wise off the pitch and even to the point they basically have a grip on the Scottish top flight by accident. It’s by design, and we just don’t play hard enough (yet) to get it back. Maybe one day it’ll sink in. Ten years on from 2012 we are back and in a decent place. It could and should be so much better though, and we can’t continually blame everyone else.

It's an SPFL rule.

This is bigoted persecution by the SFA. We're still waiting on Griffiths facing a ban for kicking a lit flare into a crowd of football fans.

Article 10 in the clubs own stadium conduct rules states they do report all acts of offensive behaviour, just not in the case of united fans being offensive and chanted sectarian chants about the Queen.

Club regulations
10. The use of disorderly, violent and/or threatening behaviour and/or the use of foul and/or abusive language, racial, sectarian, homophobic or discriminatory abuse, singing and/or chanting of any kind and damage to property is all strictly forbidden, is UNACCEPTABLE CONDUCT and each and all of same and if constituting a criminal act and/or acts may result in arrest and/or prosecution and/or in conduct which does not constitute a criminal act and/or in the case of a criminal act, a ‘ban’ from the Ground, regulated football Matches, the confiscation of any Ticket purchased or held and/or any other sanction as may be determined by the Club/Event Organiser and/or in the case of a failure to comply with and/or a breach of Football Rules by the relevant Football Body.

Yep but if he said dirty orange bastard then nobody does a thing.
I generally dont like to get involved in the 'he said she said' shit..

He could have took a breath & just turned away, plenty have been faced with the same thing before.

Much as I disagree with you on a few things.. I'd tend to agree with you this one though.

Has got another amateur/spineless SFA decision written all over it.

I hear you and I’m with you brother.

We could get started on the club and our lack of PR or gumption or any real fight but it really does need to start from us individually first and foremost.

You cannot walk about your workplace turning a blind eye to all kinds of garbage slung about us, and then take some kind of morale high ground about the Rangers board not doing anything.

There will be some people who read this thread will know exactly what I’m talking about. Go into work, hear hun this , orange bastard that, feel angry and frustrated at themselves for not reporting it, But ultimately going for the hassle free option of “ ach I’m not getting involved, I’m bigger than that”. Ultimately that’s your choice but please imagine for a moment you go into work and did the same to them. Your feet wouldn’t touch the ground before you were up in front of your boss and HR.

I hope he tells Nil by Mouth the truth.

Fking ridiculous. Only in Scotland would you get a ten game ban for speaking the truth. Yon Slavia player got less punishment for real racism

You can't go around saying stuff like that anymore.
Why not? We have allowed them to redefine a word. The word in question means a supporter of Irish terrorism against the crown. Look it up. If we stand idly by and allow people to attribute false meaning to words it’s a slippy slope to totalitarianism.

The games abogey. The same ban as what somebody gets for racially abusing someone on the pitch? Whilst your out and about going about your own business and getting bammed up by some wee dicks?

Meanwhile on the other side.. you can be caught spewing the greatest hits of terrorist anthems and any kind of sectarian bile that your heart desires, that gets you a new program on the BBC. .

I'd have thought the main issue from a football governance point of view was that Lafferty's outburst took place when he was in a restaurant with the Northern Ireland squad in Belfast.

If any action were to be taken, surely it would be by the IFA.

This looks like a calculated breach of protocol by the SFA.

Lafferty has supposedly already been fined by Kilmarnock yet still faces punishment by the SFA for a minor incident that took place in another country which had nothing to do with football per se.

like black rappers using the word n****r
it's not though, it is?

The N word was used as slander. The victims appropriated it.

In the case of the F word, they used to call themselves it as a term of endearment. It has no religious connotations whatsoever, but the sleekit victim-mentality psychos manufactured a grievance as a means of having people on the other side charged.

He should tell them to ram it up their hoop and go and play out his days in China, Saudi, Qatar or some other place where the won’t be interested in the SFA’s fuuckin rules.
They'll be on the phone to his new league, guaranteed.

We all know that's true mate and we all know what the word really means, but we're 16 years too late on that one. Not enough was done about it at the time and now there's laws, legal precedent/definition and all sorts.

Exactly what I asked. What if this had happened when he was on holiday in Spain for example, would the SFA think they could still bring him up on a charge? If I was Kyle Lafferty Id get a Lawyer and fight this.
