I’ll be honest I thought Cifuentes was a given and just a matter of time, not as advanced as we perhaps thought?

Agreed. Just making the observation. We need something on the right of attack.
Hoping we have a mixture of formations and tactics that we can deploy next year.

Signings so far seem to fit towards the 4312 that we ended the season with.

We have players (apart from striker) that can play the formation Gerrard went with, the 433 with inverted wingers

Hoping for a couple of wingers with pace and trickery to beat a man to give us 1 more different style of play in certain games

They’re absolutely terrible, the sky I grew up with compared to the likes of that weirdo Kaveh are a mile behind. Usually one of the last to report.
Everything is taken off Twitter and other media outlets it's an embarrassment these days.

The two wankers that do the transfer window update are frauds pre scripted rumours and news all taken from other sources with there added nonsense added for good measure.

RFC news reporting we will pay £7m for Haji Wright this summer. Anyone think we will actually shell that out for a single player?
What the hell is RFC news ? Is this a random Facebook/Twitter page spouting shite because that's what it sounds like unreliable fannys pretending to be know shit.

Rangers plan £8m transfer splash on Lammers and Dessers but Jose Cifuentes waiting game rumbles on

LAFC are yet to rubber stamp a deal for the Ecuador international - but 2 arrivals appear imminent at Ibrox.

By Scott Burns

Rangers have opened talks with Atalanta for striker Sam Lammers and are confident they can team him up with Cremonese’s Cyriel Dessers.

The Light Blues are in talks with both Italian clubs to try to seal deals for their frontmen. Michael Beale has prioritised the two forwards to spearhead his Ibrox revolution for next season. Atlanta are ready to sell Lammers because he has struggled to nail down a regular first-team slot in the last three seasons, having been out on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, Empoli and Sampdoria in recent seasons.
Talks have been opened at around the £3million mark. Lammers was part of the Bundesliga’s squad who denied Rangers in last season’s Europa League final. The Dutchman came through the ranks at PSV Eindhoven and really shone in a loan spell to Heerenveen, where he won his move to Italy off the back of that goal-filled switch. Lammers struggled to make an impact at Sampdoria this season, who were relegated to Serie B along with Cremonese.

Record Sport broke the story on Monday Rangers had tabled a bid for Nigerian international Dessers and were in talks with Cremonese. The Italians had initially claimed they wanted more than the £6.5million they paid to get Dessers from Genk last summer.

It is believed they are now ready to drop those demands. Italian sources claim that Rangers offer is close to £5m with add ons. Italian reports have claimed the deal has been agreed but sources close to the deal say the finer details still need to be thrashed out.

Rangers are also still in dialogue with Los Angeles FC over a deal for Jose Cifuentes. They are confident a deal will be closed very soon to see the Ecuadorian move to Glasgow. The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has agreed terms on a move to Rangers.

Osayi-Samuel is an interesting one. He played right and left wing for QPR. You would think that he must have some half decent defensive/tackling ability in order for Fenerbache to convert him to right back.

Kent did a power of work for us defensively, tracking back. Samuel could provide similar defensive cover from a forward position, especially with his pace.

You would imagine that the fact that he has played in so many different positions would also be an attractive prospect to Beale, if we are indeed interested in signing him.

Small YouTube channel with apparently some "reliable" sources inside the club. In all fairness, he has called a few transfers as complete prior to romano etc. But not sure how reliable his sources are

Don’t know why but I can see us going 3 at the back next season with 2 up top. Width from wing backs
Just for a laugh based on who we’ve signed/been linked with:

Butland
Goldson Souttar Panzo
Tav Cantwell Cifuentes Raskin Yilmaz
Lammers Dessers

Subs:
McCrorie, Sterling, King, Jack, Dowell, Lundstram, Lawrence, Hagi, Roofe

Well aware some will be sold, some are missing, some will come in we haven’t heard of yet etc but it’s how a 3-5-2 might shape up.

People moaning about signing players from Serie A. Very tough league to score goals in. Defense based league

We signed Tav and Goldson who played for Shrewsbury and Aribo at Charlton. They turned out decent signings

If both come in they deserve to prove themselves on the pitch. Not by current stats
It’s really not anymore.

It's total bullshit and only survives (like many others) because people foolishly click on it.

Maybe in the channel 4 days it was defensive.

Certainly isn't now

I'm not going to suggest that we should be signing less than excellent players or those with as much skill & ability as possible -
but I remember MB saying he needs players who fit his style of play & meet the needs of his system

That suggests to me that some of his preferered potential candidates might not be top of stats tables or even have had great careers so far - but they still fit MB's overall plan

What I want to see is a solid unit of a team - who play for each other & have a great attitude & determination & that blend together really well

If that means we don't have individual stars that might not look all that wonderful at the moment - then so be it
Doesn't mean we'll be any less successful IMO

I personally can't see the point in comparing or dwelling on statistics as a guranteed indication of how things will pan out in future

It wasn’t long ago all we heard were complaints about shopping in the English Championship too often, implying we should be buying players from better quality leagues.

The same people making these complaints are now moaning about us signing two players from a top 5 league that are within our price range.

You wonder where some people derive any joy in following a football team when absolutely everything is a complaint.

The thing is, Midtjylland and Copenhagen scoop up half the Danish talents at a couple of mil and more often than not at least double their money. Those players are always going to pick those two teams because of their track record the last few years of constantly developing and selling players to the big leagues.

We need to get in on the Norwegian league before it ends up like that.

or, we could do it with scottish players?

Re: Osayi-Samuel, had a read of a few comments from the Fenerbahce fans. Most suggest his physicality and pace are his main attributes but his passing, crossing and decision-making hold him back. Sounds familiar!

Will be in well before. Next week or 2
When are the players back in for pre season? Reading between the lines it doesn't sound we are that far away from agreeing the fees so wouldn't be surprised at the next week or two either.

Pretty sure Beales aim is to bring in intelligent players who he feels will thrive under his coaching. Cantwell has been a great addition and you can see the manager trusts Raskin, albeit he hasn't settled quite as quickly. Our match day 16 will be very different next season, Im quietly optimistic we're on for 56.

Raskin has settled superbly well.

He’s been excellent.
