Definitely not a legend for me.Played more legends games than he did first team games. Don’t understand the love in with him now tbh but each to their own.

As for on the pitch he should be remembered as a all time legend. What a finisher he was. Its a shame how it went after they 6 months.
A legend . Away tae fk.. .. we never heard from him untill he wanted a book sold..
He came into the pub with a lot of the players after a legends charity match and my uncle drunkenly asked him what the real reason behind his loss of form was
He was in a strop for the rest of the night, McCulloch was laughing at him
I agree, it was quite funny to witness thoughOne of those unique stories where all involved come across as knobs, tbh.
In my view, Negri is proud to have played for Rangers. What's everyone's thoughts of Negri ? He had a tremendous 6 months when he first arrived , then got eye injury and hardly kicked a ball after that . He seems to be everywhere talking about Rangers these days . I remember reading Amoruso's autobiography and he didn't seem very keen on him ?
Me too. I remember him heading a ball from about 12 yards out. I was up waaaaaaay before everyone else so sure he had scored. I even had time to think I am gonna look a right daftie if this doesn't go in.The best natural striker I've seen in a Rangers strip.

CorrectWasn't arsed with us when he was here. Now realises how massive we are and how lucky he was to play for us. To help him earn a coin or keep himself relevant?. Who knows, maybe was just moody on the pitch and different off it.
He would’ve. He was that good. He just wasn’t that arsed.I honestly don’t think he would have been able to continue his scoring streak as it was phenomenal, the quality of some of his goals were something that we simply weren’t used to.
I honestly thought we’d found a replacement for McCoist but without fully knowing what happened during that “Squash game” or the fallout within the squad after it, it’s hard to say whether his reluctance to play was a result of him being ostracised. I personally think he spat the dummy myself and just collected a wage.
I don’t think we’d even still be talking about him If Mols hadn’t got that injury.
A real enigma of a player, looked like he was going to smash goal scoring records that season and then faded away completely.
His recent return to the Rangers fold has been equally baffling. I’d imagine he must harbour a lot of regrets about how things turned out after that initial 6 month period.
Hence he wouldn’t have continued it then.He would’ve. He was that good. He just wasn’t that arsed.
He’s made a good living off the back of his half season at Rangers

He played a couple of games under Advocaat out of nowhere which was pretty weird.
Remember getting his name on my shirt and 1 game later never seen him again the basturd lol
How about you blame the guy who replaced him and not Negri himself. It wasn’t just down to Negri, of course not, but the fact we lost the title by just two points at the very death has always made me convinced that if Negri had remained focussed and in form he would have been worth more points to us than that.
By way of example, we scored a massive 51 goals up until the turn of the year with Negri contributing 30 of them, but then just 25 more in the second half of the season with the Italian enigma adding just 3 more.
It was undeniably a massive factor.
It's not really about "10" though, is it? He was here 4 years and played something like a total of 30 games; of those 30 he scored 32 goals. I think it's sensible to presume he was capable of giving more during his time as a player here.I think Negri knows now he should’ve done things differently. I used to be extremely cynical about his reappearance on the scene like a lot of other posters are, however there’s a poster comes on these threads who has had dealings with him and persuaded me to rethink.
I don’t think he’s after ‘the blue pound’. I think he just appreciates what he had here now more than he did at the time.
The failure to do 10 was down to many factors, of which Negri was one but not the biggest.
More natural than record goal scorer McCoist or even Boyd?In the words of Ian Dury:
What a waste!
