Celtic face threat of multimillion pound compensation claim(The Times)

Scotland is one dirty little country, this needs exposed overseas as no one in the media is brave enough to do it in the uk. One would suspect dark forces at work to keep this under wraps.

It is on one had it is remarkable that a no mark was appointed to carry out this review and the on the other hand this it was entirely deliberate to have someone is is wholly inappropriate and inexperienced to carry out such an important enquiry.

Henry was hand picked to protect the SFA. The SFA ignored child sex abuse claims as badly as Celtic FC. The SFA are asking clubs to apologise, and they should but when exactly are the SFA going to issue a public apology ?

Nothing short of an Independent Inquiry is required

I realize you cannot judge somebody from their looks, but one look at that thing and the word deviant comes to mind. Creepy looking bastard.

The OP should copy that text onto a letter and send it to all of the SMSM outlets.
Do we have no investigative journalists left in Scotland, or any that want to bring justice to the victims of child abuse? Makes me ashamed of my homeland.

It's Catholic corruption we are facing pure and simple and they will always safeguard their own as we know from experience.
 
The simple answer to the OP's question is: he was a safe pair of hands and would deliver the conclusion those who appointed him wanted.
 
His acquaintances and involvement in this review are just another coincidence in the cesspit that is Scotland and Scottish football.
 
There are lots of qualified folk out there who investigate certain things, especially child abuse. There are enough qualified individuals, both male and female who would have been better placed to conduct this report, so your asking the question and it’s a very good one. Why Martin Henry, and what’s his credentials and why was he qualified enough to conduct this report, given the fact he is an associate of a prolific paedophile himself. So why was he chosen?

We all know why he was chosen and who chose him, of course. Who audits these things? Who gives these reports the ok? Are there any outside observers who can oversee and overlook Mr Henry’s work, and if there is, why aren’t they doing so?

There should have been no one involved in anyway, shape or form Scottish Football, or even have any links at all. This guy seems to have had previous links as well as associates with links to the SFA/Celtic cover up.

It looks suspect when there’s 2 well known and well publicised paedophiles who have been convicted and one currently in prison, as well as one looking at a conviction getting hardly any mention in this report, but Neely gets a good 7 victims accounts and a lengthy statement about his wrongdoings in the report, while these guys get some of the shortest opinions within it.

I had the feel of a whitewash, as well as a shot to the brow at Rangers also, looking to fire the blame at us to take the heat off them.

The report was 70% nonsense and 30% of what it was actually supposed to be. All designed to take the heat off the author and protector of it.

A shambles. OP is right to ask questions, so should we all.

The angle I’ve never seen examined is exactly how Jim Torbett was allowed to set up Celtic Boys Club.

In 1966 he was only 18 or 19 - below the age of majority as it stood then. He couldn’t sign legal documents. He’d have had next to no coaching experience. He was little more than a boy himself.

The relevant decision must have been taken by the board. It was when Robert Kelly was Chairman and before Kevin Kelly or Jack McGinn were directors.

Is that an SFA tie he's wearing as well ?
 
No sensible person nor government would accept this Review process and report . Alongside it the convictions and cases have been confirming a portion of the scandal which I would say reveals further justification of an Independent Enquiry being needed . Tbf it should never ever have even begun in this fashion not in a million years was it plausible that Sports and even more so certain Religious organisations be exempt from the Scottish CSA Enquiry .

Every single red flag has been tripped in this fiasco .

Looks like a cover up to me, we should be demanding a full and independent investigation.

Jack McGinn’s role in the cover-up of the Celtic Boys Club US tour abuse by Frank Cairney in 1991 in the year prior to him becoming SFA President should have been examined by the SFA when he was exposed. Did this happen or was it ignored by the SFA board of the time?

Excellent post. It should also be mentioned that James Rennie set up and ran a Celtic youth side where children were sexually abused.
 
It's like I've always said, Celtic wasn't the only club affected by this in the past but when you take the time to actually read the facts you can't get away from the fact that back in the 70s Celtic was a well organised sophisticated paedophile ring with various members holding positions of influence able to cover it up and make sure no allegations ever bore fruit, that is until many years later until what were now grown men came forward with their information.

We should have been asking questions about his appointment from the beginning along with those childrens' charities. Many predicted from the outset how this would go.
