They look more like backups than rotation pieces to me.I think it’s too early to say re Simpson , way to early probably mate . He is certainly on the slim side of CDs right now but I can imagine him being beefed up and that bit more body strength can be vital in football . Some more attitude is a requirement too which I think is one of your points .
itten I feel does link up well it’s one of his skill sets but I do agree the sum of the parts isn’t what we need just yet .
will have to trust the coaches with these two and see what becomes of them imo .
I think we have at least 5 cbs better than Simpson - and possibly up to 3 more with potential to pass him in the next year. Someone has obviously scouted him and likes him for a reason but I just can't see a cb with his skill set succeeding in the SPL for Rangers.
I think Itten may develop but mostly he needs games to improve his awareness. Right now he's a blunt instrument where we ned a rapier at the point of our attack, and he's just not an answer in a wide role so he's struggling to get enough game time to make the jump. It's the old catch 22 of needing games to improve but not good enough to earn them, and he doesn't have the goodwill in the bank to get a run to play himself into form like Alfie did earlier in the season.
