Pena ready to resume his Rangers career

Really ? I don't know anyone who had written Morelos off
What about DylanGer who wrote big stories and insinuated within them that Morelos is like a 1.5 million player even after the China bids were rejected

What about DylanGer and SDF teaming up saying that Morelos wage means he should not miss chances etc.

Plus the forum was clamouring to sign Solanke.

He will need to face a training and monitoring regime that will get him 'Gerrard' fit.

If he embraces that there might be the faintest of chances he could make some sort of contribution.

The likliehood is he won't be able to handle it or won't even want to try to handle it which means we can negotiate a pay-off way short of paying off his contract (it is going to pan out like that, isn't it?)

If he comes back and knuckles down amd bangs in a few inportant goals he will have the backing of the support no question about that

However carry on the way he has before he can gtf
Couldn't screw the nut in his homeland. He'll do eff all positive here. Only hope is he isn't difficult to deal with when negotiating a payoff

Daniel Prodan was signed for £2.2m in 1998 & left in 2001 without having played a game.

Pena signed for the same fee 19 years later & played 12 games in 6 months scoring 4 goals.

Difference is Peña was already known to be a fat alchy waster when we decided to splurge approximately a third of our transfer budget on him.

There were huge flashing neon signs above him in the shop window screaming Danger! Danger!

We still went for it.

Some pretty poor comments in this thread. It’s totally down to him from this point until January to prove himself, but the guys had his issues and in my opinion it would be totally wrong to deny him a second chance. As said though, the ball is totally in his court, he needs to come in and put in 100%.

It will take him to the end of his contract to get fit. Get rid of him. What a waster. He will upset the apple cart.

He clearly has talent, he may not have shown it for a few years but that down to his lifestyle and problems. If he is over that, comes back, gets his head down and works his socks off until he is available again then he, of course, deserves his 2nd change at the club. I am not so sure that he will do all that, though.

I would say he has had that second chance when he was loaned out but by the looks of things he wasted that chance!

Like him or loathe him, he knows where the net is. I'd imagine he'll need an intense fitness program but who knows. The guy had an addiction problem but according to reports, has overcame that.
I'd personally give him one last throw of the dice as it would be a costly pay off. If anyone can motivate him, it's our manager.

I never knew FF was such a rich source of information and deep-seated, empathetic understanding of addiction, behavioural science and being able to predict the future.

Not going to bother listening to scientists, specialist and experts from now on: I'll just log on here for armchair experts and random punters substituting guesswork for trivia like evidence and data.

Welcome to a football forum. :)

Soon find out what he is made of when Gerrard hits him with the new fitness regime at the club!

I'm all for giving people 2nd chances but one thing that bothers me is disrupting the Team harmony and bond right now.

The only options that will be explored are who else wants him and what pay off he might get.

No chance he will play for Rangers again, nor should there be.

How does it compare to Halliday in the slightest apart from players going on loan?

Maybe you missed it, but the post I quoted said Pena’s second chance was his loan. Halliday had an unsuccessful loan. Halliday’s now contributing in our first team.

Pena is a waste of space that should be right oot the door at the first chance.
He’s a guy that has never looked as if he’s ever been interested in playing for rangers imo
Addiction or not get him to f**k

Pena wasn’t just an unsuccessful loan. As I said, the loans are where the similarity ends.

Carlos Pena insists he is ready to return to Rangersafter a trouble-hit 10-month spell in Mexico.

The Mexican misfit posted a video on social media this morning confirming he is on his way back to Ibrox where he will "explore his options".

Pena has spent 2018 back in his homeland on loan at Cruz Azul and latterly Club Necaxa.

But the 28-year-old, signed by former Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha in the summer of 2017 for £2.2m, has endured a trouble-hit year and is heading back to Scotland after Necaxa decided to end his loan spell two months early.

Pena posted a video on Twitter earlier which was translated by journalist Francisco Montes.

Montes said: "Gullit" Peña G27Gullit, thanks ClubNecaxa and clarifies that his departure from the Ags team was in the best terms.

"For now he is ready for his return to RangersFC, with whom he has a contract of one-and-a-half years or explore options."

Caixinha returned to Ibrox to sign Pena on loan in January, taking him to Cruz Azul on a season-long loan.

But the player was sacked by the Mexico City club, following a series of embarrassing off-field, alcohol-related incidents.

Pena voluntarily checked himself into the Baja el Sol rehabilitation clinic, owned by boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez, in the Mexican state of Sinaloa in a bid to recover from his alcohol addiction.

Pena checked out two weeks early after insisting he was clean, then Necaxa then took over his loan from Crux Azul and Pena was supposed to be there until January.

He was warned this is his last chance in football by Necaxa president Erneston Tinajero.

But having not even featured in the last two match squads and having made only five appearances since he joined his new club, Necaxa have decided to cut their losses.

Caixinha last week backed the player to take his second chance at Ibrox.

Rangers misfit Carlos Pena can still become Ibrox hero insists Pedro Caixinha
He said: “I hope that when Carlos goes back to Scotland, he can recover his career.

“He is still not yet 30 and has plenty of time to still have a great career.

“Carlos has tremendous football potential and he’s a great person. He deserves better and if he asks me for any advice about going back to Rangers I will happily give him some."

Would have been happy too give him another chance had he not wiped his beak on our shorts. Can go and take a flying f*ck to himself.

You don't regain fitness/sharpness at 28, especially not if you've been abusing your body with alcohol and other substances.

There is, unfortunately, zero chance of Pena featuring for us again.

This is it.
Cannot believe some actually think he will suddenly become the player he was years ago - I Would be shocked if got a game now

He,s a fcking dick that's disrespected our club, should never wear the jersey again ffs

That's not the point though, the guy said "He's pound for pound our worst ever signing"

How anyone can try & support that comment is beyond me...but that's Follow Follow for you.

I'm waiting to see what our manager's reaction is first.
If SG can get through to him,and he knuckles down,it could get very interesting.
We should all know, that the guy is pretty decent footballer.:)

There's nothing more I hate than logging on here to see our players being mis-called, but with Pena I'm sorry I'll make an exception. If we want to win trophies and stop the vermin getting to 9 or 10 we need the best possible players in every position. We already don't have the best possible players in each position and we need to buy better ones in January (creative No 10 priority), we simply do not have space nor time for hangers-on. Pena might come back and prove me wrong but I highly doubt it. He blew his chances when he blew his beak in the shorts of Rangers FC. If we give him a final opportunity in January (I hope we don't BTW) he needs to be gone if he doesn't give 100%, we simply don't need the aggro.
