We were maybe lucky but didn’t experience any bother with Frankfurt fans.
To avoid the massive queue at the station taxi rank we decided to walk back back to our hotel. Walked for ages and met hundreds of quiet law-abiding Frankfurt fans No bother.
Turns out Apple Maps wasn’t particularly helpful, and we had walked totally in the wrong direction. Finally after chatting to a helpful local lad who had been under the Rangers crest pre match, my son organised an Uber taxi and we got back to our hotel about 2:30 am!
Again the Germans we encountered like in Leipzig. we’re extremely friendly. Only surprise was they were not vocal in their celebrations. Can’t imagine we would have been so quiet and well mannered if we had won.
Still a wonderful experience to get to a European Final at almost 70 and all thanks to my son’s kindness and determination to secure a match ticket for me after I narrowly missed out by a few MyGers points. I shall always treasure this despite the result last night. What a journey we have been on.
