Lost 3-2 against Dunfermline that day. Possibly a Christmas Day fixture?
I read it was the first day of the 64/65 seasonLost 3-2 against Dunfermline that day. Possibly a Christmas Day fixture?
Would be great to have a team photo similar to this great photo, before the first game at Ibrox next season, hopefully in front a full Ibrox!
My mistake @Brian Laudrup. However we did lose 3-2 to Dunfermline on Christmas Day in 1965-66 so I mixed up the two events.I read it was the first day of the 64/65 season

That is exactly the case.I don't know why but with a lot of the pictures, I'm not getting because it says "tinypic, this picture is no longer available" in most of them
Totally off topic, but possibly because of that amazing night, I thought back in the 70s Bayern wore white shirts. Did they change their colours to red sometime after this or were they playing in a change strip that night?
Absolutely.The Ultimate Rangers strip.....Ever.
Pretty sure that was Xmas day 1965, Meik.Lost 3-2 against Dunfermline that day. Possibly a Christmas Day fixture?
anyone got the tv schedule from the newspapers that day, I thought I'd seen it beforeWhen our game ended they crossed over to the piggery and showed the last 30 mins (they kicked off later) then extra time and the penalties, so they showed a good bit of their match too. Even then they knew who was the bigger draw though!
Does anyone have a list of the players names in this photo?
Start of season 1969/70 I'm thinking.
Lawrie Smith?Start of season 1969/70 I'm thinking.
I should know this, but who is the man in the suit standing behind Davie White?
The other side of the picture has Willie Thornton, Davie Kinnear and Joe Craven. But can't think who the last if the coaching / management team was.

We lost to Bayern in the Fairs Cities Cup the previous season and Bayern, I think, were playing in a red and white striped shirt that night. Drew 1-1 at Ibrox but ran them closeTotally off topic, but possibly because of that amazing night, I thought back in the 70s Bayern wore white shirts. Did they change their colours to red sometime after this or were they playing in a change strip that night?
Their home strip was actually red and white stripes round this time. They changed to red aroundTotally off topic, but possibly because of that amazing night, I thought back in the 70s Bayern wore white shirts. Auld Craigy, brilliant picture. He was getting called Picasso or Rembrandt, depending on your era.
And all trying to get in gate J the busiest part.
There were thousands of Rangers fans in the sellik end of the north enclosure and indeed the sellik end itself that night.
