Match Thread Hibernian v Rangers - 17:30 Sunday - Viaplay Sports

Jesus Christ, listening to the radio Scotland, it’s all how good Hibs were, just a few mad moments lost it for them. 11 men and they could have won, describing the second goal they are speaking like a funeral oration. Finally one of them says we deserved the win. Dick Gordon near to tears

Excellent result at a potentially difficult venue.
Although hibs exerted some pressure our defenders were more than up to the job and the only dangerous moment was when Butland almost pressed the self-destruct button!
Lundstram was tremendous and Silva is now showing his real worth. As for hibs they just lost control, especially that weirdo Moriah-Welsh.
The Clement juggernaut powers on.

Are this lot having a fucking laugh - that wasn't a straight red card? He was completely out of control and didn't win the ball. It was a red card all day long and if had been against a team they were involved in they'd be absolutely fuming if a red card wasn't given for that.
All three saying it should only be a booking. Had he caught Lundstram, none of them would say it's only a yellow.

The guy was aggressive and totally out of control. He was making no attempt to get to the ball and only wanted the player. Was a straight red card all day long. If he had gone through Lundstram properly it should have been a longer suspension for deliberate dangerous play.

If you only give yellow cards for those challenges you are going to end up with rollerball rather than football

Great win in the circumstances, coming off Benfica away and with players dropping left right and centre.

Thought Lundstram was excellent today but a few others are looking tired, not surprisingly.

I was surprised thought to hear the three pundits on Viaplay say that the straight red card was wrong. It was a stonewaller for me.

Hibs manager moaning about a foul on Boyle leading to our penalty. Why the %^*& did the interviewer not tell him it has been watched a dozen times and unanimously agreed it was not a foul as there was no contact.

Didn't Levein sign Michael Stewart on loan from Man Utd., and Hearts had to pay a portion of his wages, which was £1/week.
Levein said he was still the worst value signing he'd ever made.
It seems his punditry skills are right up there with his footballing ability.

Exactly, doesn't matter if no contact, it was reckless and dangerous. If made contact, that was a leg breaker - straight red. That's the rules.

Viaplay panel all saying second red was only a yellow - with some stupid comments to support it. Jesus - reckless, agressive, endangering an opponent. Fling in like a missile. Definition of a red card. And it doesn't matter how strong the contact actually was you numpties ! There is no hope with these sort of comments. Will be diabolical if that gets overturned.

Similarly stupid Hibs manager thinks ref should look at the monitor for the 2nd yellow. He can't you idiot and var can't intervene either ! Player's only intent was to prevent Matondo going forward in any way he could.

Good solid win. Might not have been pretty, but we are through to the Semis which is the most important thing.

Only negative are potential injuries to Sterling and McCausland. Dujon in particular seemed to be clutching his hamstring which didnt look good.

Special mention to Lundstram tonight. He looked quite tired the longer the game went on Thursday but recovered enough to carry us to victory tonight. Here's hoping the entire squad get enough rest to recharge enough to put in a mammoth effort against Benfica in midweek

WATP!
