Hibs have asked for Celtic to be tested before tonights match

Is there a Source for this?

EDIT: just seen a source on Twitter saying so. Is that legal? Remember our pre season game v m’well was postponed a few hours as players had to get tests.

If any Hibs players end up testing positive after this they would surely have very good grounds to sue the SPFL into dust. The Players Association should surely be getting involved here as well. This is scandalous. Not even being hyperbolic, this is genuinely negligence of an extreme and seemingly deliberate nature.

I never bought the conspiracy before, but as this goes on I'm becoming more convinced they are trying to goad the government into stopping the league.

Ahh ye , maybe it’s that If they field a player who then tests positive once the results return then it is clear they played while infected .
Maybe allows them to then take action of some sort .

Surely, from a footballing point of view, it's in Hibs best interest to play this tonight. Only team that benefits Hibs not playing is Celtic, who would get the ideal scenario that they couldn't possibly have fashioned on their own 4 hours ago

With Helander there was no question of it being among the wider squad. That isn't the case here.

Think about it the other way. If Rangers were due to play a team that had been off on a jolly abroad, seen breaking guidelines, clearly trying to obscure the extent of the problem etc. would we be comfortable with our players going out there?

Hibs have a duty of care to their staff. It might suit us to have them play Celtic, but at the end of the day there is more to life than 3 points in a football game.

There is only 1 team at it here and it isn't Hibs.

Now it looks like the scum might have a full team or so out it changes in an instant, 180 on a 10p piece, to

'HIVS SHUT UP AND PLAY!!!!!!'


Hibs are absolutely, 100%, right to be demanding that their players are safe to play football. If they cannot be assured in a timely and genuine manner, then that lies with the scum, not hibs, and any default should also lie with them.

By no manner of means telling them to “shut up and play” but the lickspittles deserve the contempt they have been treated with by CeItic and their governing bodies.
 
Most rapid tests aren't accurate. A PCR test result would be probably the next morning unless they have rapid access to the lab which may be able to turn it around in a few hours.
Seems fishy that the supposed list of players isolating are those who wouldn't be starting anyway.
The whole thing stinks. Hibs should also know the turnaround on their own tests.
 
The Mrs works in the hospital she has been given a box of lateral flow tests , it’s similar to the how the results of a home pregnancy test shows up. Can be done in 2 minutes.
Obviously you need to swab up the nostrils etc
 
If Hibs think septic are at it it's a simple email to spfl and SFA and Celtic .

We are happy to play the match tonight based on all septic players having a negitive covid test today/ this afternoon.

If you do not think it's required to play tonight we seek written assurance that no player from Celtic posses a risk to our players and you are willing to accept liability should any player that plays tonight tests positive in the next day or so !

Should any of our squad test positive after contact and any financial loss Hibs incur if there is transmission is fully met by yourselves!

They would call the game off before agreeing to that
 
If the game gets forfeited and awarded to them then it’s time to chuck it, the corruption is off the scale at that point.
