Nnamdi Ofoborh

Still working with specialists, as far am I’m aware.

We won’t see him this season I imagine, will be prolonged testing.

It wasn’t at all baffling. We picked up a young player out of contract down south who had demonstrated potential. Signing young players on pre-contract agreements from England is a core pillar of our transfer strategy so how on earth is it baffling?
Ofoborh who couldn’t force his way into a shit Bournemouth team, seriously?

Could be wrong but I think I heard/seen he was aiming for a full pre season in the summer. Could totally have made that up but near certain it was on here.

How was never picked up in his medical before signing.
These things happen. It may not have been a congenital condition & something that developed shortly after signing for us. I'd assume Inter & the Danish national team have pretty much state of the art medical facilities & his heart defect hadn't shown itself prior to his cardiac arrest.

See a medical examination would in not include those organs that are kinda important, with the heart being one of them.

The doctor must have been on the lash doing the medical or believed the boy was a time lord.

….Goldson couldn’t get in to an average Brighton team. He turned out pretty well. I’d keep an open mind.
Totally different circumstances.

Goldson had turned out MOtM performances at Brighton and you could gauge from their fanbase that they weren’t happy at his departure.

And we needed a centre back at that point. That wasn’t a project signing. He was coming into play at £3m.

What's the latest on this fellow, the club must know what the problem is by now.
Knowing what the problem is and fixing the problem are two completely different things.

It’s not just an injury that has a timeframe. Cardiac issues are massive in an athlete. The boy might not even ever be able to play

30 first team appearances and could get a game for wycombe

who thought that was a good idea even before the medical
Patterson couldn’t get a game for us yet he is our record sale… Not being able to force one’s way into a team is hardly a measure of their suitability for us.

And time and time again on FF the “couldn’t get a game for Wycombe” accusation is levelled at this player - he was injured. He is as a key player for them when available.

I don’t intend to get embroiled into an argument about the player’s ability or whatever. I just made the point that this signing was not at all baffling and fits the mould in terms of our acquisitions from England. We’ll continue to make these type of signings and it’s a sensible strategy since the cross-border compensation rules work in our favour.

The lesson learned from the saga is obviously that our medical team will scrutinise heart issues a little more closely now during medical examinations which can only be a good thing for the club and players.

Canny see how that fits our transfer strategy
Maybe have a read of Ross Wilson’s words after clinching the player on a pre-contract and you’d get an idea why the club thought he fits the transfer strategy:

“We look forward to welcoming Nnamdi to our group in the summer. We are extremely impressed by his qualities and he is a player that has real progression in him.”

Quite simply the recruitment team identified a player from down south who they felt would be a good prospect to add to the squad and because of a very unfortunate and serious medical issue we haven’t had a chance to see him.

It’s pretty obvious to any Rangers supporter with a sensible outlook why we signed this player. Astonishes me that people are debating this.

By all means question the medical examinations if you are suitably qualified but the footballing justification for the signing is blatantly clear.

You're fighting a losing battle there mate.

It was only a few weeks back we had posters saying we shouldn't sign Aaron Ramsey because he'd hardly played!

Just yesterday it's being suggested that we'll never see him play a full 90 minutes.

The heart issue was found the pre-season he signed and it was said at the time he would be out for the foreseeable future
He signed on a pre contract in January 2021, he was diagnosed in summer 2021
File under Simpson, Polster, Barker et al.

Our ongoing want to spunk wages on sub average players.
Hasn’t even played yet, how can you criticise the club for signing a supposed “sub-average” player when we’ve not even seen what he can do?
