SunSport's Kenny MacDonald runs the rule over the home side.
ALLAN McGREGOR: Great first-half stop with his foot to deny Krejci during Sparta’s best spell of game, then a comfortable take from Hancko’s second-half effort. But terrific double save late on kept clean sheet. 7
JAMES TAVERNIER: Wrote in the match programme of how unacceptable Sunday’s loss to Hibs had been, same could’ve been said of his wasted cross from a good position. Has been a lot better but plugged away. 6
CONNOR GOLDSON: Sunday’s criticism of the team and performance seemed to be a catalyst for a much more committed display. Solid and vocal throughout, steady when the heat was on, no real issues. 6
CALVIN BASSEY: Never looks completely convincing in the heart of defence but no-one can quibble about his enthusiastic approach. His pace was an asset in a few hairy first-half moments. 6
BORNA BARISIC: One great first-half defensive clearance but found opportunities to get forward restricted. Defensively sound and toughed it out during Sparta’s spells on top. Booked. 6
GLEN KAMARA: Looked a man on a mission after his Prague red card and his shameful September treatment there. Always willing to take the ball in a congested midfield and is a real asset on nights like these. 7
STEVEN DAVIS: Use of the ball was erratic and looked weary on occasion, but kept at it against a sometimes-lively Sparta midfield. Has had better days. Eventually subbed. 6
JOE ARIBO: Rattled crossbar after six minutes but seemed spooked after he carelessly missed a sitter from Hagi’s cross halfway through the first-half. Lofted another decent second-half chance over. Subbed. 6
IANIS HAGI: His tenacity set up Morelos' opener then provided a great cross for Aribo’s sitter miss. Booked for a foul on Krejci just before the break and eventually withdrawn. Looked bright though. 6
RYAN KENT: One great cut-back for an Aribo drive early on, fired decent chance wide early in second-half then blasted another against keeper’s legs. Showed in fits and starts before being subbed. 6
ALFREDO MORELOS: Cool finish for first group stage goal of season settled Rangers then he gobbled up Panak’s gift to head key second. Denied a hat-trick by keeper’s legs and generally looked much more like the player he once was. 8
Subs: NATHAN PATTERSON (Hagi 65, 5) Wide on the right of midfield, provided plenty of energy; FASHION SAKALA (Kent 80, 3) Tried to join up with Morelos, one good run; SCOTT ARFIELD (Aribo 80, 3) On for 50th European appearance, got stuck in as usual; JOHN LUNDSTRAM (Davis 88, 2) Late change to waste time.
I don't even know why I pay any attention to any the excrement written by anyone from these rags but although not out best performance tonight there were plenty of positive and a lots to get excited about with hoe we played and got the job done, unlike some!! But surely we deserve more the 3 players over 6 out of 10? Not like I give a %^*& about anything they say or do puy much faith or have any respect.for anything they day or do!! Nut we were for better the 6 out of ten tonight!! And achieved out primary goal amd objectives!! Another shoer of.rancid bastards!! Fcuk them all!!
