Another day where I'm embarrassed to be a Rangers supporter. Idiot should be thrown out and banned from football. There's absolutely no excuse for that type of behaviour in a professional setting.

The club are spending £000's on the womens game and something needs done to evaluate the spending.

Idiot coaches, poor standard of player, and a decline in performance.

There's no reason why goalkeepers should be so poor at this level. They are full time and should be working hard on their standards. If they can't respond to good coaching, then move them on.

If the coaching is the problem, get rid of the coach.

We're making excuses and tiptoeing round the subject. Our womens team are a hard watch for a full-time setup, and obviously they aren't coached to a very high standard.
Most players who are goalkeepers in men's professional football will have had specialised goalkeeper training since they were around 10 years old, possibly even earlier.

Opportunities like that simply wasn't a thing in the girls game, especially here, until the recent past. It will get better but it's not going to be an overnight thing. The next generation of keepers will be better because they had better opportunities in formative years.

This is my theory of what has happened. This Celtic manager is a well know little rat and I think all through the game he would be loudly moaning and whinging and using language that could be heard by the Rangers bench and at the end when they scored I do think he said something sectarian and this has been heard by the Rangers bench and he has been fuming and reacted.

Personally, I think he should have got him in the tunnel away from TV cameras and tackled him then for what has annoyed him so much. This is going to be blown out of all proportion now.
Did see him shouting at Rangers bench when we had a couple of players down. Dont think he was happy when ref stopped play when they were attacking and we had 2 down.

If the boot was on the other shoe we would all be going tonto in here. No point pretending otherwise. Guys a shite coach anyway so just let him go.
How have you come to that conclusion out of interest? I have to say I had no idea who he was until last night, had never heard his name mentioned, never mind have any idea of his abilities. Are you confusing McPherson with Malky Thomson?

He hardly touched him, and their manager didnt even seem that bothered. Not saying it's ok, but not exaclty cause for a national inquest! The handshake and finger pointing between Ally and the Lurgan biggot had more to it FFS.
Society just gets softer and softer.

Police probe after Rangers coach reportedly headbutts Celtic boss

  • From BBC SCotland online today

A Rangers coach is being investigated by police over an alleged headbutt on Celtic Women manager Fran Alonso.

Craig McPherson approached Alonso at the end of a dramatic Scottish Women's Premier League clash, which was televised on Sky Sports.

The incident happened at the full-time whistle after Celtic equalised in the 99th minute.

Police Scotland confirmed it had received a report about the match at Broadwood Stadium on Monday.

A force spokesperson said: "Inquiries to establish any criminality are at an early stage."

The Scottish Football Association's compliance officer will also look at the incident after reading the match delegate's report.

Speaking after the game, Alonso told Sky Sports: "Someone pushed me from behind. I never talked to him the whole game.

"I was called a little rat, but I don't know why."

When asked about the incident, Rangers manager Malky Thomson said: "Without me seeing it I wouldn't comment.

"If that is the case there will be an investigation and we will look at it."

Away side Celtic earned a point in the match thanks to a late equaliser by Caitlin Hayes.

After a video of the apparent headbutt circulated on social media, a spokesperson for the club said: "Clearly this is a hugely concerning incident, falling well below any acceptable standard.

"We understand the matter is now being investigated and it will be up to all relevant authorities to take any appropriate action."

Rangers and the SWPL have been approached for comment.

You not heard of Gross Misconduct?
You still have to go through a procedure.
Most likely he'll be suspended while the investigation takes place pending an outcome.

If a police investigation is ongoing and we sack him and the police investigation sees no wrong doing then Rangers could be sued for damages.

Therfore, It's common place to wait until after the investigation to take action.

You not heard of Gross Misconduct?
Is that the one where you convene a hearing to determine “guilt or innocence” and find out if there were mitigating circumstances?
Where before even convening the hearing you’ve interviewed any and all witnesses?
Then you give the accused party at least 24 hours to make his own arrangements regarding representation?
Never heard of it.

Never heard of the foreign celtic manager but maybe he was in decent form as his side equalised and doesn't really give a fk about a tap to the head after exchanging verbals all game? In other words he's not a shitebag.

Rangers played some good stuff in the first half and were clearly the better team. Second half the Manager tried to consolidate a one goal advantage and paid the price in extended injury time.

The Assistant Manager will probably be dismissed and may well be charged by Police.

Seems to be a total over-reaction to a nothing incident to me.

A rats a rat

It is a total OTT reaction and If this coach is charged it will be a disgrace as Police Scotland took no further action for this in a junior game

Please tell me you know thr difference between two players during a game and someone chasing aomeone over a pitch when the game is finished?

If Admin give me access, I’m happy to separate the posts about the women and team of Rangers FC from the fascinating pro v anti head-butting debate. I could put the “aye they’re all a load of shite” posts in the appropriate place while I’m at it.

Well done Kathryn Hill and Emma Watson on their first senior call ups. Very well deserved.
Delighted for Kathryn.

She took quite a few rejections from Scotland as a youth, so hopefully she gets a cap in these games.
Think this is technically her second call up.

She was in the squad v Wales in 2014 at Palmerston Park but didn't come on.

But yes, well deserved indeed. Should have been in permanently a while ago.

Blind as well as thick. I take it your a ned? Only a ned would think a team full of players who start a fight when things don't go their way would be a good thing.
Its called passion you diddy, away pick dandelions and talk to the fairies at the bottom of your garden.
If yees want to pump DM each other.
Otherwise, let the rest of us talk about the women's game and gee it a break.
