It didn't for Gareth Southgate last year, and Ramsay being brought on when he was and ending up in the first five takers would have heaped pressure no end. Hard to fault Van Bronkhorst though, tactically we handled the game well for much of it.Has bringing on a substitute for a penalty ever worked for a team?
Didn't seem like the right decision for me. Not then and not now.I feel sorry for all the players, myself and all the supporters.
What happened to Sakala was football and it felt like the right decision at the time. I'm sure he will get over it.
Sakala takes penalties? He has every right to be raging. He takes pens, so it made no sense to take him off and leave Kent on who could hardly walk.
Every sub apart from Davis were wrong, the Sands sub was shocking and a signal we were not even trying to win the game in the 90 mins.
Didn't seem like the right decision for me. Not then and not now.
Penalty taker for Zambia I believeSakala takes penalties?
Was thinking that myself. Massive risk. Thought John or Ryan would have taken one.Has bringing on a substitute for a penalty ever worked for a team?
Roofe?Has bringing on a substitute for a penalty ever worked for a team?
At least sakala tried to play the ball forward instead on back to mcgregorPenalty taker or not, we've all watched Sakala this season. His finishing is erratic and that's being kind.
The idea that him being a nailed on scorer in the shoot out is ludicrous.

Oh great another crapOPBrought on to try and win the game and brought off for an unfit JUVENTUS player how must he be feeling feel so sorry for him
Yes, took and scored a good few for his previous club and for Zambia.Sakala takes penalties?
No he wasn't. He did okay and pushed us forward. Just give it a rest.Sakala was terrible when he came on TBH, really really bad.
WitNo he wasn't. He did okay and pushed us forward
Agree witm much of that, but bringing on Sands, at that stage, made sense. If Sakala had missed a pen, majority would have said "why was the seasoned international Welshman not involved"
Roffe and Ramsay ought to have been on 30 mins earlier.
Sands sub was odd.
He was useless when he was on the field anyway.Brought on to try and win the game and brought off for an unfit JUVENTUS player how must he be feeling feel so sorry for him
John could barely walk. Was thinking that myself. Massive risk. Thought John or Ryan would have taken one.
I agree, the idea was to relieve Tav of his defensive duties and push him up the park.Agree witm much of that, but bringing on Sands, at that stage, made sense.
Good point.I agree, the idea was to relieve Tav of his defensive duties and push him up the park.
Funny I don't remember you saying that when he banged in the equaliser at parkheadHe was useless when he was on the field anyway.
One of the first players I want shown the door, if he is what we have to rely on from wide or up front we are in real trouble. All the pace in the world, no brain power to use it well, his work rate is actually pretty poor as well.
Sands came on in extra time ….He has every right to be raging. He takes pens, so it made no sense to take him off and leave Kent on who could hardly walk.
Every sub apart from Davis were wrong, the Sands sub was shocking and a signal we were not even trying to win the game in the 90 mins.
He couldn’t even make a 5 yard pass never mind slot home a penaltyPenalty taker or not, we've all watched Sakala this season. His finishing is erratic and that's being kind.
The idea that him being a nailed on scorer in the shoot out is ludicrous.
Would rather have had Fashion hit that No 4 pen than Ramsey. Ramsey walked up and just didnt look confident, I turned round at the Cartuja beamback, boys moaning at me to turn around but I knew he was missing it. Fashions steps up you just know he's smashing it.
I’m all ears ……Gio got it all wrong last night.
I’ve said it all season long. 1 goal doesn’t erase a season of mediocrity.Funny I don't remember you saying that when he banged in the equaliser at parkhead
Wow. Are you serious??I’m all ears ……
He seemingly takes Zambia's. He might get over getting the hook but I bet he won't forget. Don't know if Gio is a good man manager. He might need to be.Sakala takes penalties?

My stance has been and is, he’s not a footballer. He’d be a great sprinter, but he doesn’t have a footballing brain, McCoist will tell you the exact same thing
What was wrong with the tactics ?Wow. Are you serious??
Dreadful performance.
Tactics were all wrong.
Subs were a shambles and leaving it so late to bring Roofe and Ramsey in was ridiculous.
Such a letdown.
No he wasn't. He did okay and pushed us forward. Just give it a rest.
