Ahhh…what a day that was.
Ahhh…what a day that was.
So Ronald Koeman was a cleaner at Ibrox? Every day’s a school day.
When first joining the club known as Orange PearsonWas staying in a b&b in Troon late eighties when I arrived back after work a couple were registering in.
The following morning I asked the owner if the couple who came in last night were called Personn which she confirmed.
When I came back that night she said she told the Personn's I recognised him.
His wife apparently said I told you they would remember you.
Eric Caldow had returned the team not long before, but Jim Baxter was captain that day when we beat Celtic 2-1 with two goals by Jim Forrest.Caldow was the captain, but this pic is of Baxter, is it not?
No what i found strange was we had 105k at the Morton Final Then the next season final against Celtic and it had 91kEric Caldow had returned the team not long before, but Jim Baxter was captain that day when we beat Celtic 2-1 with two goals by Jim Forrest.
There is a photo of Caldow and Baxter running back on to the field with the cup, after the presentation.Eric Caldow had returned the team not long before, but Jim Baxter was captain that day when we beat Celtic 2-1 with two goals by Jim Forrest.
That’s it,cheers.
Which Scottish Cup final was this?
1961-1962 v St. MirrenWhich Scottish Cup final was this?
That was some competition for Jim Forrest. He scored 16 goals in 10 games in 63/64, 18 in 10 in 64/65, 10 in 10 in 65/66 and 6 in 7 in 66/67. Only one of these 50 goals was a pen. After the Morton league cup final.
Forrest scored four and Wiilloughby the other.
What an afternoon that was….
Unbelievable stats and we got rid of him. That was some competition for Jim Forrest. He scored 16 goals in 10 games in 63/64, 18 in 10 in 64/65, 10 in 10 in 65/66 and 6 in 7 in 66/67. Only one of these 50 goals was a pen.
Maybe it is because the 1961-62 Cup Final win was the first that registered in the mind of the young TMC (who was left at home while his Dad was away to Hampden on the day) but the photos of the lap of honour and previous photos of the goals scored that day and the team group with a somewhat pensive Harold Davis at the end of the line, are quite special to me.
KP too, my mate and I got left behind, but that's a story for another time.10 of us from Bellshill went on the KP buses.
I remember that.KP too, my mate and I got left behind, but that's a story for another time.
What might have been.
Hounded out of Scotland by pure jealousy
Biggest mistake any board of Directors made in our long history, knee jerk reaction to Berwick, history tells us,handed the initiative to the other mob, which IMHO,we still suffer to this day.Unbelievable stats and we got rid of him.
As I’ve said before,it changed the clubs history,Forrest leaving.
You post up some fantastic pics. Gets my colour creative juices flowing LOL!

Was there no commemorative writing round the badge that year?1981-82 LCF.
Nearly 30yrs on it really is a case of, “what could have been”.
Don't think so. He was off the pitch for an extended period before returning as you see him.Was there no commemorative writing round the badge that year?
