Convicted Celtic view photographer John Cullen finally identified

Obviously I’m not involved in the police investigation side of things which must be one of the most difficult jobs on planet earth, however if none of the children pictured were ever identified, does that mean Cullen took the photographs himself or they were “traded” among his circle?

Each one of those photographs potentially of different children represent one victim, 250 photographs = 250 victims. :(

The scandal is never mentioned in the papers , the radio , the tv stations , the police , the Scottish football assoc. , The Scottish premier league , the bheasts own agm , the Scottish Government , the Westminster Government , and these dirty bastards still claim to be treated differently...they're right there , they're never brought to task , and never have been .Let's hope some day the enablers and culprits are dealt with the way they should be.

I thought it was due to the ongoing criminal investigation?

I've stated this before, but who would store such material at his place of work unless he was completely sure it was secure. Did he regularly add to said collection? did he share the material with others inside the stadium? All of these questions were asked at the trial. Surely????????????????

Certainly a lot of unknowns pushed into there dark corners and then covered up here imo at the very least it is a group not one photographer also someone has posted that he still stays with his wife and family and that too could be seen as peculiar

This was the BBC reporting it at the time.

How much effort actually went in to try and identify any of the boys? It appears that no one knew about the photographs until the court case. Were any parents of the boys that had been signed over the past few years before the discovery ever urged to register any concerns they may have had.

Over 200 boys and none recognised?

This sound quite preposterous.

It is simply not feasible that Cullen didn't know the names of at least some the victims. That they remain unidentified means he refused to cooperate with the police yet he still received a ridiculously lenient sentence.
I think this part of the bbc story where they say the case was repeatedly stalled to try and determine the names of the victims is just so awful . No one genuinely tried that .

250 pictures of nude or semi-nude young boys, all aged between 10 and 13 years old.

Kids that Cullen claimed he'd invited round to his house in 1982 to pose for him for the photos.

Photos sitting in a bin bag in a Store Room at Celtc FC's stadium for twenty years, seemingly untouched until the cleaners found them.

And the Police (even with the assistance of Scotland Yard's special paedophile unit), were not able to identify even one kid.

Questions -- were the photos ever checked for fingerprints (to see who else may have handled them) ?

How can this guy have invited 250 boys back to his house in one calendar year (that averages at about 2 boys every three days) without it being noticed ?

Are we really to believe that not one of those boys could be identified ? A specific age range, in one year. Was Cullen pursued further as to how he met these boys ??

And of course ... a black bag of nude photos of young boys just happens to surface at the one football club in the world where you'd sadly expect it to.

How on earth did this guy only get probation ?

I agree with everything you say in this post, especially this

How on earth did this guy only get probation ?

I’m honestly losing all faith in the Scottish criminal justice system. Paedo after paedo after paedo handed sentences that seem astonishingly light.

Why do Scottish judges keep letting these horrible offenders off so lightly. It’s sickening

I was saying this to my mate the other day. The coverage the Yorkshire cricket scandal is getting on sky/ papers/ even brought up at Westminster. Then you compare it to this, its night and day. Hardly a peep!

"Despite the help of Scotland Yard's special paedophile unit, their identities were never discovered."

I just can't fathom this, I can understand the need to protect the identity of the victims and their families, but to lie about it is really feckin weird stuff going on at the top of the tree with the 'never discovered' angle.

The special Scotland Yard paedaphile unit never identified any of the poor victims because they never looked.
Let’s be honest a Glasgow private investigator would have had at least a dozen names within 2 days.

It’s my opinion that this unit was set up to protect the high up paedos far more than catching the lower end ones.
When I read about Cullen almost 20 years ago my heart sank. With obstacles like this in your way I just couldn’t see any possible way the victims could get any sort of justice/closure.

With a lot of hard work behind the scenes, and brave victims putting their heads above the parapet, it has taken them to this class action stage.
They can still kick the can down the road, with help from a complicit government and judicial system, but justice for the victims is coming.

The Paedophile Unit would have identified every child in those photos, if they haven't then they don't deserve to be in the force. Just showing the boys faces in a respectful way to the general public would have brought out many mother's to say "that boy there is definitely my son" wouldn't you think? it's not rocket science.

I made this a while ago too. Not just about sharing, but if you are confident that youncan hide something illegal in your work then you are probably confident that others there will turn a blind eye to it upon discovery.

Obviously the contract cleaner wasn't part of the inner circle.

I believe you are on the correct path here these offences were committed and prosecuted before the holyrood Parliament werent they ?

The point is the main offences have been known for over 40 years and yet comfortably covered up for most of that and even in prosecuting these crimes we see a level,of cover and minimising and excusing .

This is a UK collusion not simply the local and Holyrood one . Why ?

I would say while it may have been seen as a ‘safe house’ the child pornography was probably there because it was being shared with a group who used it had access to that area.

I knew him when I worked in a shop in pollokshaws in the early 90s.
To be honest he seemed ok at the time but his wife was a bitter cow, would always be in on a Monday morning if we got beat to rub it in.
He lived in the block of flats next to the row of shops at the time on shawbridge street, which was a few hundred yards from the little industrial estate where the trophy centre had a warehouse in it I am sure.
Jackie his Partner is still with him as far as I am aware, and so is The Boy's as well. Jackie is a right Big Headed Sod so she is. Thinks Highly of herself.

Yes he did stay there buddy, and the wee industrial estate is still there where the TTC warehouse was and still is,another buisness lock up now.

A boarded up police station is adjacent in the same street, you couldn’t make it up.

Had a wee look over there last year.
Tower Block they lived in is long gone now. 2016 it was Demolished.

I knew Cullen when he lived in Pollokshaws in the 90s, he seemed quiet and polite to be honest. His other half wasn't and was a right bitter boot.

Do feel sympathy for her and the kids now though having had that scumbag for a husband/dad
Jackie and the Boy's are still living with him as far as I am aware. Why they'd wanna live with Scum is baffling as heck?

I have just read this story for the first time. I cannot understand how someone who committed a horrible crime on over 250 children can be given such a lenient sentence.

I cannot understand how they cannot identify one of those 250 children. Through his line of work it is clear where he would meet children.

I find it bizarre that Celtic miraculously found this bag and then reported straight to the police for a change.

Did they ever identify any of these children?
Is this scumbag still alive?
John is still Alive.

The Police investigation there is completely wrong.

In the 1990s for a period of time, unknown to me, I was in a hall, weekly, at the same time as a paedophile.

The Police came and interviewed me for an hour about the guy. I knew nothing about him. But they still took an hour of my time to check I wasn't a victim based on attendance records from the organisation.

Yet, here's a bin bag, literally full of evidence, and there's no attempt to contact victims to see if Cullen was operating with others, if the photos were the only crimes, or of other crimes took place with the same victims? Nothing? 250 children?

Incredible.

It's not just that mate. Outwith politicians the judicial system is a farce. Torbet got 3 years then 6 for a second offence. Compare and contrast with the USA where the Penn state nonce got sentenced to the rest of his life. Then you've got the bennel case in England where he got 34 years for a first offence which wasn't to dissimilar to torbets offending over a lesser timescale.
It is standard in pretty much every civilised country to ensure that cases of historical sexual abuse are investigated as a matter of the utmost priority.

We live in Scotland and such trivialities are of no interest to our political masters.

Way beyond depressing and bordering on conspiracy to pervert the course of justi

You know why.

His Partner and Boy's are still living with him from what I have been hearing. Why they'd want to live with such a Beast is beyond me? Jackie is the Partner, and she is definitely one of the most Arrogant Sods there is out there. Always on about how Wonderful her Man and Boy's are.

Sure, none of the victims identified, but on the plus side the cops I saw yesterday spent a diligent hour or so charging their electric van.
