Some brilliant BW additions since I’ve been last on this thread. I could be pinching a few of those to colourise
Eric Sorenson and Jorn Sorenson?
In the north enclosure that day.
I was in the north enclosure that day, just about in line with Sandy Jardine's back pass that led to their opener.Rangers 2-2 Celtic, Glasgow Cup Final, 10th May 1975. The cup was shared following the draw, a match watched by 70,000 (100,000 tickets were sold but bad weather cut the attendance). There's not many spaces in the Rangers end, unlike the other!:
can confirm the mug wasn't part of your tournament win gub, every school child received a mug, a brown/khaki coloured mug with the Glasgow 800 crest on it i recall, on your point about Sandy Jardine"s passback, i dont think that shower ever got an easier goal, laid squarely on a plate for wilsonI was in the north enclosure that day, just about in line with Sandy Jardine's back pass that led to their opener.
In the morning our school team (Grange) won a five-a-sides tournament at Simshill and apart from a medal won a shiney, new 50p because it was part of 'Glasgow 800' celebrations. We got a mug as well, but can't remember if that was part of the morning's haul or we got that in school.
Yup, I remember the mug well. Not as imprinted on the mind as that passback. Probably because Sandy didn't make too many mistakes that season. The papers that morning linked us with Ray Houghton, Glasgow born but played for Ireland.Rangers 1-1 Hibernian, 28th February 1987. I was at this game but have no memory of the fire in the Main Stand (a flare?)!
My memories of this game are of Alan Rough playing out of his skin for them (as he often did against Rangers, not so against the scum) but us still going top that day as they lost 4-1 at Dens Park after being ahead at half-time. We never lost the lead the rest of the season and won the league for the first time in 9 years:
How come it looks like it's photoshopped esp the wee prime minister McMillan?
One of my favourite Rangers Wins big Tam’s celebration after his thunderous shot will live with me forever great day5th May 1973 - Rangers celebrate with the Scottish Cup back at Ibrox after beating the scum 3-2:
What a playerRangers 3-0 Motherwell, 9th December 1989. Terry Butcher gets no.2:

I think Greig scored a corker that day and Alex Miller was ordered off.Rangers 3-0 Motherwell, 22nd March 1975. Derek Johnstone scores the first of two he got that day as Rangers are on the threshold of winning the league for the first time in 11 years:
A shocking tackle by Chris Shevlane of Hibs caused Iain Macdonald’s injury from which his career never recovered.Rangers 3-0 Ayr United - 17th January 1970. Ian MacDonald, hidden by the keeper, scores on his debut. Sadly injury wrecked this young man's career after much early promise:
Wee tommy Bryceland of St Mirren wishing he was a Ranger! 1st picHere's a nice wee sequence of photos showing the aftermath of the 1962 Scottish Cup win against St Mirren.
I still have that hanky in my possession had it near 50 years

But why would he be there in 1962 and at such close range to Eric Caldow?A serious looking Ian McColl staring at a happy Eric Caldow in photograph 4
Was this the greatest ever Rangers side, for anyone who saw this team?
Excuse my ignorance, but who are the 2 players between Willie Henderson and Jim Forrest? Is it Alex Willoughby and Tottie Beck?Rangers Scottish Cup winning squad, April 1966:
Was he the Scotland manager by that time? But why would he be there in 1962 and at such close range to Eric Caldow?
I thought he had retired from Rangers after the 60 SC final, or did he stay on as a coach? That one I don't know.

I couldn't say for sure. Part of me thinks he might still have officially been a Ranger when he took over the Scotland job. Which means he still might have been at Ibrox after the 60 final but didn't play for the first team again. Was he the Scotland manager by that time?
I think Greig scored a corker that day and Alex Miller was ordered off.
Where indeed! It was Bobby McKean set off mate, and Greig's cracker was in the League Cup game the following August:
Alex Miller did score from distance in the March game though so I think you're mixing the two games into one, easily done when you think they were 47 years ago! Where has the time gone?!
George Burley?Rangers 3-0 Motherwell, 9th December 1989. Terry Butcher gets no.2:
Yep correct. I was at both games. We were leading 2-0 at Muirton Park as well….I'm sure we had a goal disallowed just before this last minute equaliser, we won the replay 3-1 with a young Ally McCoist scoring against us
Wow. I remember the old Glasgow 800 years celebration mugs!!!I was in the north enclosure that day, just about in line with Sandy Jardine's back pass that led to their opener.

I was in the Rangers end for that game. I’m sure that Joe Wark scored a similar goal for Motherwell that day. Finished 1-1 I believeWhere indeed!
