Toasting #55 – What Are You Having?

Bottle of champagne chilling in the fridge. Pop. Once that’s done a selection of IPAs for the rest of the night. Red white and blue balloons everywhere in the house and the tunes on.

A bottle of single malt to their widowed friend who they socialise with.
Mrs SS has a bottle of 2010 Dom Perignon and a bottle of her favourite gin.

All are under strict instructions not to open until 55 is confirmed.

As an ex-problem drinker, I’ll take vicarious pleasure from their enjoyment.

I’ll have my usual ridiculous intake of Coke-Zero. l might pour it into a glass with ice and lemon as it’s such a momentous occasion.

To finish, a bottle of Oban 14 year old malt. My favourite malt and will be a nice half to watch our celebrations with.

Being an old bugger now it's Champagne for me :))

Hopefully it's fired into on Sunday,but whenever we win the title whether it be Sharkheed or Sunday i'll join you young ones for a proper celebration up at the square B-D
 
The drink is purchased and 4 or my neeburs (there's a Clackmannanshire word) are coming to my house to watch the game against the moon howlers. If the covid police turn up, they will be told to **** off.
 
I bought a bottle of porter in anticipation of 55 before lockdown, so now thanks to wee nippy it is Lockdown Porter 55 year old. B-)
 
I'm going to buy a suitably expensive brandy to drink out of my "55" engraved brandy glass while smoking my 30 quid Cuban cigar - better get my skates on buying the brandy the mentally challengeds might throw it so I have to drink it on Sunday

Bought a bottle of Rangers vodka. Also got a bottle of William of Orange blood orange gin which was given to me as a gift.

Said bottle of vodka is now half empty... going treat myself to a nice malt to toast 55.

This would have been perfect but I'm struggling to track a bottle down
 
Just ordered two bottles of South African Vergelegen Cabernet at £20 a bottle. Being delivered Friday.

One for Saturday. One for Sunday. And I'll belt a bottle of Tattinger champagne I got for my 60th on whichever day we win.

C'mon the Rangers.

We'll all still be drunk from Saturday, we win at Ibrox that will be us 21points in front and they'll only have 21 points to play for and need to turn at minimum a plus 24 goal difference over, come 5pm Saturday the league flag will be home.

My Mum died on Mother's day last year, but I remember her telling me years ago that when she was pregnant with me she used to crave britvic orange.

As somebody who got sober just a few days before Helicopter Sunday and Gerrard's Istanbul I really started to believe in miracles and I've never touched a drop of booze since, one day at a time.

So I think I will be celebrating with a nice few bottles of Britvic 55, in fact I might just buy a case of 24, but I won't tan them all in one night! ;)

Heading to the liquor store for a good champagne. May then get tore into the 14 yr old Oban that's in the cupboard too.

Watched a documentary on Amazon about Jim McEwan and Bruichladdich Distillery the other night. Was looking for a bottle of the Black Art but couldn't find one. $350 right enuff o_O . To be honest tho, I won't care how much I spend celebrating this.
 
If we win it sunday then i’ll have to drink council juice (Carlsberg) as im at work and have to drive 7am

if we win it at the piggery

i’ll sink 10 San Miguels and a Bottle of Fine Red Wine as off the monday
