Best goal you've seen live

Way too many to pick from.....

Coop v scum Dcf
Coop v sheep lcf
Lovenkrands v scum scf
Gazza v sheep x 2
Albertz v scum at the midden sc
Gazza v scum at Ibrox

I've been lucky enough to witness many a great Rangers goal. supers keepy uppy against Aberdeen, Wee Rod's goal against Dortmund, Coopers free kick at Hampden etc etc.
But Ray Wilkins volley in the 5-1 game. Might not be the best in some people's eyes, but to 12 year old me it was the best strike I'd ever seen. I'd never seen a ball struck like that from the edge of the area. Especially on the volley. I was absolutely in awe of that goal, and will always be my best goal seen live as it was such a sweet technically perfect strike.

There has been too many to remember but one that stands out for me is Marco Negri against Dundee United when he lobbed it over the defender twice outside the box from a Gazza pass then lobbed the keeper.
I think it was his 3rd of 5 goals that day.

The first one that sprang to mind was Gazza’s against Hibs scum. Warmed the cockles on a freezing day! Probably seen better but that was the first one I instantly thought of.

Indoor Five a sides. I was playing, standing slightly behind the halfway line on our side, our keeper kicks it out high to my mate who was standing middle of the hall, who hits it on the volley with such power and accuracy towards their goal the keeper had no chance.
If it had been captured on video it would be on pornhub the noo.

An absolute tap in but I think I enjoyed big lunnys goal vs Leipzig the most.

The outpouring of emotion from everyone in the stadium truly was incredible.

Ibrox was a special place to be that evening.

What - you were actually there?!
Yea, I was. I also saw Maradona live for the first time in the 1-0 over Uruguay in the preceding round in Puebla. I was totally mesmerised by his skill, technique and his whole aura -

I stayed on in Mexico for about 3 months after Scotland had been knocked out, including backpacking into Guatemala, Honduras and Belize. Some scary stories along the way (beaten halfway to death by a crazed US ex-Vietnam war veteran in a remote part of Guatemala, and chased down some back-streets in Belize City by a maniac wielding a machete!)

At the Argentina v England game, I was in the very back row of the Azteca Stadium, right behind (above in fact, given how steep the steppings were) the goal where Maradona was "aided" by the hand of God and then by his own brilliance for the second. One of my best ever football memories.

Rod Wallace against Dortmund, probably the best team goal I've seen live.
Mark Walters scored a beauty at Tannadice in a blizzard. Unfortunately I don't think there is any footage of it so haven't seen again.

Now I’m pretty sure this was the same game , we were all still trying to get into the game as there was a queue outside when walters scored , got in to be told we had missed a stunner and there has never been any footage

Am I right in thinking it was this game and goal must have been scored after just a couple of mins ??

There was an early goal, but it was for United, Mo Johnston equalised then Walters scored the winner, I think it was just before halftime.

Zidane's volley at Hampden. Won tickets for my old man and I in the ballot and resisted temptation to sell them for silly money. Glad we did after we saw that goal.

Watching live on TV Id say Roofe's halfway super shot or Van Persie's World Cup opener in Brazil.

Watching live recently the two that stick out are Dowell's power run and bullet finish vs Livingston, along with Danilo's last second winner vs Hearts. Perhaps not the most technical of goals but they felt electric seeing them unfold in person.

I saw Jackie McQuillen score an overhead kick for Kilnockie v Queen of the South at Palmerston in 1999. He had a few goes at it but eventually rifled one into the top corner.

Dead heat between Tam Forsyth's winner in the 73 cup final v the scum and Colin Stein's equaliser at Easter road in 75.
I know I've taken liberties with the OP's meaning but if you're my generation these goals, even if they were the combined distance of a few yards, come under the "best" in my dictionary.
Big Tam-all the way

We were singing Boruc's name as well after he fucked up for the 4th goal.
I loved Mccullochs goal at Parkheed. Obviously it was just a header from a corner but they had just went 1-0 up right before it and were still celebrating and singing can you hear the rangers sing etc, their whole stadium was bouncing and then McCulloch silenced them almost immediately and our end went absolutely nuts and it went from can you hear rangers sing to can you hear Celtic sing. To see their whole stadium rocking still celebrating a goal to complete silence 2 mins later was beautiful :D

Mark Walters, at Tannadice, maybe the last game of the 80s, or 1990.

Konterman's is perhaps the one I've most enjoyed.

For me, Bert Kontermans thunderbastard against the beggars at Hampden.

I was so delighted I jumped up, fists in the air to celebrate and punched an old guys glasses off in the process! He was sat beside me and wasn’t as quick to jump up.

To be fair once he found them again he was laughing and so happy with the winner he didn’t care! :))

Cooper free kick v Dolly League Cup Final.
Special mention to Hateleys header against Hearts at Tynecastle. McCall i think dinked a cross over into the box where Mark nonchalantly headed it over Nicky Walker. In front of us too as well!

This is probably the best Rangers goal I've seen live. We should have been about 4-0 up by the time we scored. Still can't believe we lost the tie.

Overall it's Zidane in the Champions League final. Being in the stadium could really appreciate the height it dropped from and his technique to hit it so sweet.

Special mention to Gio almost taking Jim Leighton's arm off with a 25 yard screamer in 2000. Between him and Albertz, we were a serious threat from range.
Lucky enough to be at Hampden also for the Zidane goal, almost in line with him as he waited for it to drop, what a strike.

Davie Cooper, goal against the Scum in the Dryborough Cup Final 1980.

Sandy Jardine, a close second, same game
