The irony is they play Racing in their last game and no River fan will want them to win as it would more than likely give Boca the title.

End of an era at River. He has been a fantastic manager. He has won playing beautiful and ugly football after having to rebuild the team every season due to finances in Argentina. I really hope he gets a good club in Europe who will give him the time and resources to show how good he is.

Names been mentioned so far to replace him are Crespo, Aimar and Demichelis.

Last day of the Argentinian league going right down to the wire. Racing just missed a last minute penalty that would have won it for them, Boca being held at home to Independiente.

Boca qualify for the Libertadores Final, defeating Palmeiras on penalties:

Cavani opened the scoring before Rojo was sent-off and the Brazilians equalised late on.

That's Round 16, Quarter-Finals and now the Semi-Finals that Boca have won on a penalty shoot-out - all six games were draws.

[For good luck they also won their recent Copa Argentina Round 16 tie on penalties]

The Final is against Fluminense on November 4th.

Fluminense has been getting some really positive reportage on their manager and how his team is set up. They'll have the incentive to win it for the first time in their history.
