I come from a mixed family so half of them are Tims, about a third of my friends are that lot too. We don’t talk about Scottish football to keep things amicable.

Probably 50/50 for me. Grew up in a street full of them and still mates with some of them. But obviously I went to the non-sectarian school so my mates from there are mostly Bears which balanced it out.

Having lived all over the place I have a good mix in my group. One of my closest friends is a tim though. Not a bitter sevcoist though.

A bit of a debate, always remember King saying that " we could miss a generation of fans"
theirs no way of seeing who has the larger fan base, we can argue all day with them but i'd like to know if you know more Rangers fans or them?

Unfortunately adding family and friends up its more them than us in my circle, was wondering what yours is?
Get a new circle.

Used to hang around with a mixture of Bears and scum when I was younger. Nowadays I don’t mix with any of that other mob. And one of the advantages of now living in Edinburgh is that you see very few green and grey about.

I think I can understand what the OP is driving at here. During our 9 in a row, their fans were certainly less visible, and personally I seemed to know far less of them than I do today (mostly via work).

I think due to their recent ‘success’ they are far more visible certainly (combined with shirt sale fiasco’s on our side!).

I have a few friends who support Rangers and one uncle. When it comes to going to matches i've only one friend who can go with me. For the scum I have a couple of uncles and cousins and one friend (who was already my wife's best friend before we met).

There are a few in my work but I wouldn't call any of them friends thankfully.Dont know any in my personal life either and none in the family

probably 50/50 but in my team in work I was the only Rangers fan apart from a neutral for a few years. It was shit especially when they were winning everything

I know more tims than bears. Friends and family are all blue but I work for GCC and went to lourdes school so do know more of them

Definitely only our fans. Have one pet Celtic mate who I keep around to make me feel good about myself and have never dated a tim thankfully!

Not saying this to be staunch but I have one mate who is a Celtic fan. He isn’t really into football all that much. Family all Rangers. And I work in a department of 45 and there’s 1 Celtic fan, 1 Liverpool/Celtic fan, 1 Man Utd/Rangers fan and the rest are Rangers of varying degrees. That’s Glasgow.

I don’t have any friends that are Celtic supporters. Former school mates that used to follow them but never been to a game in their lives. Moray is pretty split but there’s not that many actual match goers from either side due to the travel involved. Two supporters clubs each I think.

More than welcome.
I thought Renfrew was starting to become a bit more infiltrated. Knew it was traditionally staunch but wasn’t sure if it changed slightly, I was meant to be at fundraiser for a Renfrew bus in March. Looked like a cracking night.

Without my RSC and part time work place., the number of tims I know would put number the bears

The school I went to was 99.99% bluenoses. I only remember there being one guy in my entire year who favoured the filth, weird guy as well.

During my university days I started kicking about the town more and working in and around the nightlife industry. During that time I met way more mentally challengeds than bears, fucking loads of cunts who used to knock about town went to St Aloysius and had this weird townie clique - real cabal of mentally challenged cunts running the clubs back then. I remain in touch with 4 from those days, but of those 4 only one retains an active interest in the scum - we have an unwritten agreement not to discuss football as his mind is warped to fuck. The others have chucked it and only watch English football now.

Moved to England and have had absolutely honking luck. The first flat share I moved into was polluted by two mentally challengeds who were English but had supported the muck all their lives, which was strange. Another two close colleagues in my first job in London were also mentally challengeds by association (both had Irish parents), I remain in touch with one but he doesn't really care about Scottish football and doesn't watch their matches but if put on the spot, he would say he favoured them. Another colleague was a born and bred scum fan hailing from the deepest darkest corner of the Republic who, funnily enough, previously worked at HMRC a few years prior to me meeting him. He also said HMRC was riddled with them. I dont talk to that cunt anymore.

As far as Rangers fans go, in all my years down here in England I've met one. It's galling.

I love and work in Nottingham, a couple of plastic paddy’s at work but most fans have a soft spot for Rangers. The tims at work are genuinely clueless about it. Id say grinds and family back in Scotland is 60/40 us.

Give up the lottery, your not going to win it.

I've had the similar issue doon south. Not really been to London though much as i expected plenty of our lot there

know and socialise with a lot more rangers fans however two of my better mates are Celtic fans. We generally have good banter throughout a season and have an unwritten rule that we don't bother texting after an old firm game.

What I tend to find is that the most bitter Tims don't actually go to games. The ones I know that do go to games are generally nice enough

You're mixing in wrong circles then.

Other than through work and i don't discuss football with them.

Have no intention of becoming friends with mentally diseased people.

Know a few cellik fans, the ones who don't go to any matches. I like to tell them I've been to Porkheid more than they have. :p

Worked with one cellik ST holder who every now and again would let his mask slip and you'd see the hatred in his soul.

I have none in my social circle and family are all blue.

I actively avoid having any of them in my social group, I dont have a massive circle of friends through choice due to a very busy life through work, family and other activities.

The limited time I have available I am very selective of who I share that with.

Not looking for any type of UBER / Staunch points for my choice, its just how I work.

I genuinely don’t have any poet friends- I know a few poet acquaintances through my working life but thankfully now I’m retired the meeting of poets is restricted

None. My brother in law went to an RC school and doesn't bother about football (or religion). His brother is a Mhank, but his partner is staunch and she sorts him out. My nephew attends Ibrox, so no influence by the dark side.

Theres more than there used to be, but still our town.

The catholic school still buses people on from paisley and govan, as it's always had to do.

Growing up in NI I can honestly say I have no friendships at all with any of them. The only ones i talk to are through official capacity only and it’s kept to official business only.

I have no desire to ever be friends or socialise with any of them
This is the correct answer, wherever you grow up.

I work with probably the same amount of us and that shower of shite. While I know them I don’t drink with them or socialise with them and any nights out I tend to avoid as it’s mainly the rheptiles that are in attendance. My whatsapp group is mostly Bears and the ugly mob usually fu*k off sharpish when the scum abuse begins.

Think it’s probably split half and half in cumbernauld mate, I’m in greenfaulds but know a lot of both sets of fans all over cumbernauld, the village is a big Rangers area and that’s where I am mostly, the Burroughs pub next to the chippy in carbrain is a Rangers boozer aswel, condorrat is infested with they bastards but
Green brigade stickers absolutely everywhere in westerwood , carrickstone etc . On bins, lamp posts , even school signs . I still think they are in a minority but they are more in your face, same with the kit wearing , it’s like a uniform for them and their kids, so it seems like there are more of them even if there aren’t .

I'm from Cumbernauld this town feels like it's full of them tho someone told me this isn't the case,I've lived in Carbrain and Greenfaulds all my life so maybe I've just been unlucky !

Basically everyone I know who cares about football is a Rangers fan in Cumbernauld

There’s a few poets indeed (especially in places like condorrat) and I’m pals with a couple but it’s not even close imo. They go about putting graffiti and stickers up, that’s about it.

I have two. One of them who's a really close mate. i watch the games with him although saying that he doesn't really give a shit

Things like the MyGers uptake, demand for Hampden tickets and constant selling out of away grounds shows who has the bigger and more passionate support.

They could never dream of launching a membership scheme and see it hitting the numbers we did, especially in such an uncertain economical climate.

From what I understand as well, any ST holder at the Piggery that wants a ticket for Hampden games generally gets one whereas we have thousands disappointed each time we play there.

The recent figures on social media interaction shows a far healthier interest in Rangers although those freaks no doubt contribute heavily towards that.

I've had the similar issue doon south. Not really been to London though much as i expected plenty of our lot there
I've been surprised at how many of them I've met, be it dedicated rabids or those with a passive interest. There's a boozer just round the corner from me as well which is where a scum supporter club meets for matches so the gaff is always draped in their flags on match day. Never been in but certainly looks busy when you pass it and they're playing.

Also surprised at how few down here have a decent understanding or grasp of what went on in 2012 onwards. General apathy towards Scottish football is a constant though, the vast majority of folk I have met over the years wouldn't watch any Scottish games even if they were paid for it. The disinterest is glaring.

I’ve generally just stopped talking with Celtic fans about football - it’s not worth it. You can go through niceties but sooner or later it turns to Sevco, EBTs, where’s the money coming from....

They are too fucked in the head by NIAR, Walter Smith’s 3 titles on the bounce and a drawing realisation that their Heretic 10 is heading for the rocks.
