Overall it will be more rangers fans than them for me although i have a couple of good mates that support them,we know our boundries for giving each other grief after results and don't ever overstep the mark.
Not all of their fans are scumbags(just 99% of them :) )

The few of that lot I know are through work, I don't talk to them about football or politics, it's not worth the hassle or headache.

No friends of the other side, again not worth the hassle and their never to be trusted, as soon as it suits they'll turn on you.

Moved to Ayrshire and have to say, love the place, I hardly ever see a green or grey top when I am at home. There is a couple of them who's kids play at the same club as my lad and it stays cordial, when their together and you catch a bit of what they are saying then my damning evaluation was complete.

I don't know any, don't want to know any and would definitely shun any that came within smelling distance.

After 2012 I severed all connections with my Celtic supporting acquaintances due to their gloating and the hatred of the Rangers that they displayed and I haven’t spoken to many (if any) of them since then.
One of the big advantages to being retired is that I no longer have to mix with them at work. On the down side though, is that I don’t get to enjoy lording over them after results like the last game at Parkhead.

In 2012 the celtic friends and family who all took the time to have a kick at us, snydily in most cases hostility in others are no longer within my circle.
I find no affinity with them and definitely no urge to have "banter" all bears for me.

In my dept at work its 4 us, 1 them, 1 hibs, 2 hearts and a rugby man. The rest of the place is more us about 70% majority us. Family mostly rugby, 5 us, 1 hearts none them.

There's not really much justification for knowing more mentally challengeds than bluenoses unless you were brought up in one of their stronghold areas like Port Glasgow or Newarthill. And even then...

Know quite a lot, my town (and surrounding) seems to be very split amongst my generation with us, them & St Mirren fans.

It’s probably even between us & them, with St Mirren fans making up about 25% of people I know with a few Aberdeen, Motherwell & Hearts fans (bizarre I know).

Over the course of it I obviously know more bears through Rangers games or such, speaking geographically though I would say it’s even. Met a bitter one last night, got all excited when I could give her some stick.

See quite a few at houses or football due to friend groups but will only go out my way to speak to the decent ones.

A bit surprised to hear that. Erskine was around 75% Rangers when I was brought up there.

Yeah and you would probably be right, like I said it seems more prevalent from my age down. People like yourself & older might think it still is 75% Rangers, majority of older folk I know are bears like you said.

Erskine is vastly more populated though now, as is bishopton with the new builds so not sure if that’s bringing new tims?. It might even be something as simple as Rangers stopped winning.

For example a close mate of mine In high school who I still speak to was a die hard St Mirren fan till he was 13 (2012) when he started liking Celtic.

By the time he was 16 he was a full blown plastic paddy who claimed to have been a born and bred rebel lover. So can’t even take him seriously & he often gets called out for this nonsense by the bears in our group & the St Mirren fans.

Even looking back at when I played for Erskine, Parkmoor or Park mains it was split also with the odd St Mirren or Morton fan.

Definitely generational I reckon.

Having to deal with the odd mentally challenged is unavoidable for me but I don't have any in my family or close associates.

I may have 'known' some in the past, whether business or personal, but. right now. I know none. Happy to keep it that way...

I live in Prestonpans which mostly rangers or hearts very few scum around here I make a point of having as little contact with Tims as a rule

Knew one or two St Mirren fans at school although their commitment was feeble at best.

Through the late 90s I could go weeks without seeing a celtic shirt in Erskine, it really was a bluenose stronghold. Some of them must have kept quiet during NIAR and only came out the woodwork later on...

Bishopton is meant to be tripling in size by the end of this decade. It's a staunch wee town but locals will have to be prepared for an influx I'd say.

It's probably generational too.

MOST (not all) bears I know have over the ears pruned them and been less tied to the "I knew him from Uni so have to put up with his shite". Most guys my age don't see the need to waste words, effort and blood pressure talking to them...also many if not all are now yessers which makes almost all conversation impossible.

I was born in 91 and grew up in Earl Street mid 90's and the seven family's i knew were all Rangers. Mine, my baby sitters up the stairs, my wee girl pal across the back, Baby sitter's pal's family and another wee guy from school and his family ect..everybody was Rangers. School class was like 16 bears to 3/4 tims in the class in my class. Celtic fans weren't on the radar.

Now it's flipped and the last three colleges i've been at have been big majority of tims and most taxi guys and lecturers seem to be bheasts. I counted my facebook one day and we were still in the lead though. There's a gender split aswell.. Rangers have more support among the boys but there's alot of lassie tims kicking about.

Used to work with one who was actually brand new, but you know the type “up the ra” on twitter etc.

Anyway, one day she’s talking about football, my mate decides to quiz her on her favourite player. To which she responds “Samaras” I was delighted at this because it meant I could I had new material to make fun of her with.

I know a good few staunch birds my age thankfully though.

My 16 yr old daughter goes to the 'Non Denominational' secondary school in her area (The 'Proddy' one in my day :)) ) and a while back I saw a photo of a group of lads from her school year and to my surprise & dismay the majority were wearing the green and grey. When I asked her about the number of scabby tops in view she said that most of the guys in her year supported them. This, plus there is a full 'RC Tim only' school a few miles down the road, it worries me that that lost generation Dave King spoke about is bang on.

More Rangers fans for me. Most my mates were growing up. Any that were scum fans i dont talk to any more and when meeting new people, if they even sway towards them i steer clear.

Petty but i couldn't give a %^*&.

I know more rangers fans all my side are from good stock and the wife’s are the same from Belfast. I grew up with a couple of Celtic fans who I went to school with but they where definitely in the minority. That said according to my daughters who are at the same high school now it’s more Celtic than rangers.

I've had a few mates over the years who were tims but they were all in the reasonable minority. I'm also saddened to say I have known a couple of bampot Gers men.

Not sure how I'd go on in Glasgow today. There seems to be a lot more bitterness these days.

Green brigade stickers absolutely everywhere in westerwood , carrickstone etc . On bins, lamp posts , even school signs . I still think they are in a minority but they are more in your face, same with the kit wearing , it’s like a uniform for them and their kids, so it seems like there are more of them even if there aren’t .
Aye the graffiti and stickers is all the wee Fanny’s mate, take it you stay up the nauld too sir?

There has been a huge difference at High School level yes, but maybe we're hitting back....my wee local primary school we're in the majority, with only a few scattered beast fans.

Growing up in NI I can honestly say I have no friendships at all with any of them. The only ones i talk to are through official capacity only and it’s kept to official business only.

I have no desire to ever be friends or socialise with any of them
Same here for myself.

Coming from Ayrshire, Rangers fans are in the ascendency. In my formative years, late teens to early twenties most of those I associated with were guys I went to the football or the Orange with. Being over sixty it is probably a generational thing, I can honestly say I don't associate with them or have any desire so to do. I find it strange people on this forum mentioning their Celtic supporting friends, probably my age.

I know loads of tarrriers but I'm no longer friends with any.
2012 put paid to that.

Stick to my own kind now.

Vast majority of my pals are Rangers men - all two of them ha ha, but seriously I do have a couple of Celtic supporting pals, decent guys and non rabid at least to my face. I am not going to drop a pal because of the team they support - their burden not mine.

Absolutely, when I first went to work there I was genuinely surprised at just how staunch Falkirk is! However what that meant was that when I spoke with the few hardcore actual Falkirk fans, they tended to absolutely hate us, bitter because most people from their town support another team.
You’re spot on, die hard Falkirk fans do hate us for the reasons you’ve stated mate. Suppose I can understand it a little bit

All down to success I suppose. Kids from good stock are going to support us regardless but those from mixed relationships or where the parents aren't bothered are more likely to pick the team that is winning.

A lot of the people who grew up during 9 in a row are having children of their own now so I would expect another surge in young bears.

A bit of a debate, always remember King saying that " we could miss a generation of fans"
theirs no way of seeing who has the larger fan base, we can argue all day with them but i'd like to know if you know more Rangers fans or them?

Unfortunately adding family and friends up its more them than us in my circle, was wondering what yours is?
Don't associate or communicate with any of them

Sadly I probably l know more of them, just due to how the demographic was in the area I lived in when I was wee.

That said, the bears I know are my nearest and dearest.
