Match Thread Hamilton v Rangers - 12:15 Sunday - BT Sports

Would have liked another couple, but that’s being really picky.

Overall very good, Kamara looks a player, and I’ll admit has pleasantly surprised me thus far. Kent was excellent, and five different scorers when we’ve been saying we need goals from other areas.

All in a good day.

Went for their throat from the off and it paid off big style. Could have and probably should have been a lot more but let’s not get too greedy.

The only negative for me was that Craigan he does my box in. Aye Craigan you cum bucket "after seeing it again" Alan Power should have seen red for his tackle on Jack despite you swearing blind not only at that game but after it that the ref got it right. Worral was high but at least he won the ball.

That tackle of course, taking place not long after we had a pretty clear handball just outside their area -- not given.

And did Defoe actually see a foul go against him in their area when he went for the ball -- at just above shin height -- and their defender endangered himself by sticking his head down there ?

Is this a good way to defend?
Just stick your head down into an attacker's feet and claim a foul from them ??

A more intense 2nd half would have produced more of a statement of intent but 5-0 away wins never to be sneezed at, well played Rangers

Good result, professional performance, way it should be at teams like this, Kamara and Kent excellent, another 5-0 Wednesday please Rangers :)

A much improved performance all over the park compared to last Saturday.

The first half we really played some great stuff with crisp one touch passes particularly around the box. The second half was always going to be professional but without the same cutting edge.

Craigan doesnt play for us mate. No negatives today

Great result. Was the ref today actually on our side. No Rangers sent off and we got a penalty and none against us...…. amazing.

Only downside for me is the morons singing about Clarke. The banner was great but again we feed to media with singing.

Lets have another five next game.

Yes , because they don’t know what was sung . It was greetin , not 19th Century Terrorist .

No it wasn't and let's not cling to that. It clearly sounded like 19th Century Terrorist on the TV and had it confirmed from people at the ground that they tried it twice but didn't catch on like they wanted.

Let's not pretend it's something it wasn't, the people that sang it are arseholes and we need to weed them out.

How the Fck would you know what word was sung ? “ let’s not cling onto that “??

Piss off . Who confirmed to you it was “ 19th Century Terrorist “? Do you work for Pacific Quay ?

Jog on .

From numerous people at the game.

Let's just for a second here say you are right and the people that started this song sang greetin, are they really that deluded to think that the people joining in will sing the same or will sing the words they knew?

superb football in that first half , absolutely spot on way to play against them

we're a joy to watch when we play like that

Pathetic .

I’m against sectarianism I think it’s neddy , tacky and has no place in society .

What’s going on now isn’t sectarianism , it’s pathetic point scoring in an attempt to crucify ONE club , our club .

I’m saying no more I’ll let the madness continue . We are going beyond the realms of normality now banning a song in case someone says an offensive word .

Another magnificent 5:0 victory today well done lads and well done the support today with the humorous banner .

I fully agree with you there it is all designed against one club, doesn't stop me being angry at our own fans being utter idiots and giving them an excuse to carry on this faux outrage.

Just in from work.Man U v Liverpool?Chelsea v Man City?Na fu*k that Teddy Bears on with a couple of beers.Been looking forward to it all afternoon.Well done The Rangers.

Thank God that was silence and not applause.

Poor wee guy, tragic stuff.

The silence was in tribute to my Son Ben mate.
Regarding the minute’s silent reflection before today’s match between Hamilton Accies and Rangers for my late Son Ben, I would like to clarify a few things. First of all I didn’t ask for it to take place, I was asked my thoughts on the matter by a third party who had been approached by another third party just after my Son’s funeral and after some thought I gave it my blessing (the proposed minute’s silence) at the time. Unfortunately though it was conveyed to me at the beginning of last week that Hamilton Accies and others had changed their mind and there were attempts to try to in effect bully me into accepting a minute’s applause instead. This had actually gone as far as to state that a minute’s applause would take place in today’s matchday programme. I stuck to my guns and told them it was a silence or nothing as I felt it was in bad taste to ask me to stand and applaud the passing of my 10 year Son. In my opinion it’s not about ‘celebrating someone’s life’, it is about appeasing people who can’t act in a decent and dignified manner for a minute of their lives. That’s been my view on this subject for years. Anyway, they eventually caved on that matter yesterday for reasons that will become clear below and the silence was immaculately observed today which I was very grateful for. I also told them I was unhappy that the matchday programme stated Ben loved ‘Hamilton and Glasgow Rangers’. Ben was a Rangers supporter and a supporter of the Scotland national team. Literally the only connection he had with Hamilton Accies is that he stayed in the local area. It might seem a trivial point to some but the true facts of my Son’s life are important to me. Despite me having documented evidence that I told them before today to either change the article (including the reference to the applause) or withdraw the distribution of the programme they went ahead and sold it unaltered anyway! A hospitality ticket that I had been offered weeks ago was withdrawn yesterday morning but offered immediately back to me again ‘so long as I drop my objections to the programme being distributed unaltered’. I told the people who made that blatant attempt to blackmail me to shove their hospitality ticket where the sun doesn’t shine, took the ticket for the away stand I purchased weeks ago back and attended the match with my mates from my Blantyre Supporter’s Bus instead. I am distraught about being treated in such a callous way by the individuals involved over this. They have caused a tremendous amount of personal distress to me over the matter. I will be taking it further as I consider this a libellous matter now. I need the stress of dealing with this like I need a hole in the head right now. All I want is peace to grieve for my Son but I’m not going to let this go.

Brian Rice has an attacking philosophy. The Accies set-up is 4-3-3, with two of the midfielders looking to get forward. It's brave. I hope I'm wrong, but I fear Accies will be be over-exposed today. If Rangers can get a goal in the first half hour, it could be a rout.
It gives me no pleasure to have called this before kick off.

Brian Rice's attacking philosophy may serve Accies better against fellow relegation battlers, but it's a recipe for disaster against the top sides. If Martin Canning had done that, the Accies fans would have crucified him. And the game-to-game changes would have been decried as "selection bingo". Accies survival will depend on being able to defend, and two of the first three goals were down to defending mistakes.

If the team that played the second half had started, they might have competed enough to grind out a nil-nil, unglamorous, but what Accies need. Much more like today, and Rice's honeymoon won't last.

First of all condolences on your loss mate.I cannot imagine what you and your family are going through just now.
I must admit I was a bit surprised to read your post as the commentator said the tribute was for a young Accies supporter.
I’d try not to get too upset as the most important thing is the tribute to your son was impeccably observed by both sets of fans.
Ben would have been proud...keep your chin up mate.Your family need you more than ever.
