Have you ever been to a game involving them not against us?

I was asked to take my nephew as nobody else could make it. Didn't want to dissapoint the young fella so agreed.

It was a miserable, cold midweek night, where the sleet was coming in sideways and we were soaked and freezing.

It was the supercallygoballistic game, and Inverness beat them 3 -1 at the bheggardome, so wasn't all that bad truth be told.
Benefits of being the better man.

Yes in late 80’s early 90’s.Our game was called off last minute and about 50-60 of us went to their pigsty to cause bother.I can’t mind who (Hamilton maybe)they were playing but we stood singing Rangers songs the whole 90mins.

Yup, Hamburg 2010ish. I knew a girl who worked in the ticket office at Parkhead and she had said to me she could get tickets for any game I fancied. Asked about the Hamburg game and she said no problem. Tell my Hamburg supporting German friend (now as big a Rangers supporter as you and me) that I'm getting the tickets organised. Him and me ends up about ten people (the others flying in from all parts of Germany) all expecting me to organise their tickets and she fails to come through with the tickets. Anyway, we get tickets some how and we went to the game. Was excellent in the Hamburg end that night but through the whole game I can't relax as I know I'm going to be responsible for getting my group of Germans back to the city centre in one piece. Turns out I needn't have worried as the police had a secure cordon from Parkhead to the city centre for the "away fans". The march back to the city centre following the 1-0 victory was fantastic.

I can honestly say I’ve been to two.

First was around the late 80s when they played Dumbarton (my local team) at Boghead in either the Scottish or league cup. My Dad worked for Allied Distillers who were one of Dumbarton’s sponsors at the time. I remember being in the hospitality room at HT with my Dad and all they ugly Celtic goons with their horrid green jackets hovering about.

The other was when we used to have a caravan at St. Andrews and my Dad used to deal with Stewarts Cream of the Barley based in Dundee. He used to get hospitality for Dundee Utd and we went along quite a lot and once it was against the filth which they won. Saw Rangers when we won 2-0, Durie after about 10seconds and a McLaren long ranged freekick. McCoist and Hateley were both injured and in the next booth from us. I got a photo with Super which my Dad still has somewhere.
No Chance

In the 70s my late father in law used to get 2 Directors Box tickets to some Morton home games and I would taxi him there and back. Saw them a couple of times.

Went a stroll down the Gallowgate with some Leicester boys a few years ago, eventually got kettled by the police and escorted to the ground. Got told we were getting lifted unless went inside, luckily the guys had a few spare tickets. Fucked off at half time and our group was getting some really weird looks from some of the filth who had left early to go to the pub, realised one of my mates was wearing a band polo shirt :))

Yes, unfortunately. My dad is one of them so he took me when I was a wee nipper.
Hats off to you mate coming to the good guys side, being nosey how does that end up happening my auld man is Rangers daft and wee just followed on never meet anyone in your situation.

Went to their Real Madrid game in 1980. They won 2-0. I was gutted but they lost the reverse leg 3-0.
Also used to be dragged along to Pittodrie in early to mid 70s. One memorable game sticks out in my memory. I think Celtic won 3-2 but yon Hungarian guy Zoltan Varga scored one of the best goals I’ve ever seen.
Nearly got the sweetie sookers in the main stand aff their seats

I went to the Jock Stein testimonial against Liverpool in August 1978.

Why?

I was still a bit of a Liverpool fan back then so I was going to see them, not the Beggars, though I did go with some pals who were Celtic supporters.

There were a few Rangers fans there, I remember one boy wearing a Rangers scarf getting involved in a fight with some of them.

My abiding memory of the evening was the Jungle giving Kenny Dalglish a particularly enthusiastic welcome back to Parkhead, with a rousing chorus of "Kenny's an Orange bastard".

But they don't write about that, do they?
Funnily enough I mentioned this thread to my dad last night and he said he was at that game also, and mentioned the abuse Dalglish took as well.

Yes, I was invited to a stag party in Glasgow, mostly from people south of the border, and it was agreed that whoever was at home that weekend would get a visit. August 1992 I believe. As it happens, Celtic were at home to Motherwell, at a largely empty Parkhead. It was poor games of few chances, however Davie Cooper was playing for the steelmen and set up the equaliser from a cross. The weekend was not wasted, one of the stag party worked for Adidas and arranged a tour at Ibrox for four of us of the just-opened Club Deck and the rest of the main stand on the Sunday morning. The one and only time I've been on the lift. That was followed by a visit to the Burrell Collection. Back in time for a late breakfast, get the late risers out of bed, and head south again. T'was not all bad.

Two, early 70's Scottish cup final v Aberdeen, which they lost, got tickets free at school and Hillsborough disaster one v Liverpool
at the Aberdeen one out tickets were for their end and we jumped the fence in into the sheep side

Seen Dunfermline beat them at the chamber of secrets at the start of our failed 10 in a row season I’m sure

I went to a midweek Scottish Cup tie at Kilmarnock in 1978 against Celtic with a couple of Killie fans from my school.
Rangers had drawn the winner, and Killie won 1-0.
That's also the only time I've seen them not playing Rangers.
I live in Kilmarnock. Derek McDicken scored for Killie.

Yes a pre season friendly celtic v spurs at the legodome , was in spurs end right enough , family members were up for game spurs fans and they had a spare ticket and spurs are my english team so i went

Three times that I can think of.

1983-84 Scottish Cup Final which Aberdeen won with a last minute McGhee goal. My girlfriend at the time was an Aberdeen supporter and she decided at the last minute that she wanted to go. Only tickets that we could get were in the Celtic End.

2004 Hibs 2 Celtic 2 which set us up for Helicopter Sunday. I bought tickets for a mate and his two lads as a payback for tickets he had got for me. He was more of an English fanboy with a liking for Dundee where he was born. Not sure how much they appreciated it.
It was the match where Juninho was hooked by O'Neill and Ian Murray had a stormer. Heading off the line and once when Hibs were caught with 2 , including Hartson , on 1 , he managed to win the ball off them and dribble past both before laying a good pass out to the wing. I thought we were getting Dave Smith Mark II. There were rumours even then that he was signing a pre-contract in January.

Hibs 0 Celtic 2 Scottish Cup 2019. Went along with the hope of seeing them knocked out the cup.

Arsenal pre-season game, 2003ish I guess. Can't even say I was in the Arsenal end but the section we sat in was so empty it might as well have been. Full of tourists (including the bunch of mates from London who fell into that bracket).

Yes, been to a couple of Killie v beggars games back in the 90s as they are my local team. I was a teenager and couldn’t always get to Ibrox, a couple of my mates were Killie diehards so we went along, back when it was the old Rugby Park with all the terracing.

I recall one game when the Killie striker Tam Brown was sent off for lamping Peter Grant! Can’t say I blamed him, Grant was a tadger.

reserve game Dumbarton v them. Must have been in the 80’s.

My brothers pal went to Dumbarton to borrow strips and got a game for Dumbarton.

I've been to 3, was at college at Hamilton and just loved going to football back then, took in loads of games at Douglas Park if we were away.

I went to a midweek game at Fir Park that finished 2 2 involving them.

Went to the phiggery twice, a cup game v QoTS that they scraped through winning 2 1, the Queens fans had a massive UJ that went down well.

Second time they lost to Motherwell 2 1 with Bobby Russell scoring a late winner :)

I always remember walking back to the train station and a horrible mhank sidling up to me and saying what a rotten game it had been, I just replied "not from where I was watching"

I saw them lose to Partick Thistle in the 1971 LC Final, and was there when they lost to Aberdeen on penalties in the SC Final. 10-9 it might have been

Personally never. Had an uncle who was a Derby County fan but married my dads sister so lived near Edinburgh. Used to go and see Hibs one week and Hearts the next. Just liked football and missed seeing Derby. This was back in the 1970’s and early 1980’s.

got invited off a friend who was a killie fan to hospitality for celtic v killie at celtic park around 2010. Was a midweek game in what was the coldest ive ever seen football played in. The pitch was basically white and its a wonder it wasnt called off. The game ended 1-1 with celtic scoring a late equaliser so was nearly the perfect night.

One abiding memory was that as we were going out to the stand, they were giving out celtic tartan blankets to keep warm. I refused thinking i was being staunch but really i was just being stupid as it was freezing

Went with some Motherwell fan mates to the Scottish Cup semi when they beat the scum back in 1991 in a replay.

There's a group of lads I knew from school who used to go to all the European games at the Piggery (away section). Not sure if they still do as I've lost touch, but from around 2005 to 2012 they never missed a game. They'd find out what pubs the away fans were going to and buy them pints etc.

Thought it was weird myself but each to their own.

Once through corporate hospitality at work. No customers were invited so it was all staff having a piss up. Them V Dundee at the piggery, back of the main stand behind the glass and Dundee went 1-0 up very early on. About 6 of us jumped up and were giving it high 5’s and aw the tramps outside in the stand we’re going mental at us and we were winding them up big style. They ended up winning 4-1 but for the briefest of times it was worth being there

Did a similar thing when I did my degree In Manchester, away ends at Old Trafford and Maine Road. None of us were United or City fans, it was usually the cheapest standing tickets, and it was usually the best fun.

I’ve a Motherwell mate who I go with maybe once a year when ha has a spare. So seen them there once. Spent a while thinking did I really want to go to that one as had no interest in seeing them win. It was a good game until they scored.

Yes, I was born in Parkhead and stayed in Budden street right across from the ground, and in the late 50s and 60s sometimes used to walk across the road and get lifted over the turnstiles. Never thought much about it , though I was a Rangers fan from a mainly staunch family. No one ever said I was doing anything wrong. By the late 60s I understood their songs and the meaning and couldn’t stomach it any longer. Grew to detest their fans, but to be honest always had a soft spot for some of their players from that era like Lennox and Gemmell.
Was a season ticket holder at Ibrox for many years before emigrating to NZ in the 1980s. Rangers TV now a great blessing !
tbh reading FF and ‘Kerryfail’ I’m a bit sorry that the divide seems to have grown more bitter over the last ten years.

Went with a celtic supporting mate on Boxing day 1992 to the piggery v Dundee United, Duncan Ferguson scored the only goal.

Forfar played them in the early 90’s in the Scottish cup and I went to it with a couple of my mates (all bears) and we went beside the segregation and as it was the same colours as forfar I wore a YCV scarf which was sky blue with white writing.they were not impressed when I held it up and even less so when they sang one of there ira ditties and we responded with “sas bang bang bang, sas bang bang bang”
Forfar scored in the first minute Craig Brewster scored for Forfar with a cracking free kick.the tims eventually won 2-1

Yeah, went to a couple of Accies v Celtic games. My mate used to get additional tickets every so often and I would go along with him. Funnily enough I don't think Celtic ever won any of the games I was at so was considered a good luck charm. :))

Seen Liverpool play at the piggery twice in friendlies and was sitting amongst them, a most uncomfortable experience, felt dirty! The sectarian abuse dished out to Robbie Fowler was something else!

Went to the 4-1 Thistle League Cup final because I was going with a lassie from Maryhill at the time and she wanted to go to the match.
Absolutely brilliant day at the game and back to Maryhill for an even better night celebrating.
Never seen so many miserable scum in my life as there were that day, it was excellent.

Been to 1 , them v Raith Rovers ,2 of my m8s played for the Rovers , won a fortune off the local scum who were giving me 4 ,5 and 6 goals a start , ended 2 - 1 to them.

No, but did have to go on the Parkhead tour when my uncle from Australia came over years ago. This was in the nineties when McCann had just took over, and to be honest the only thing I remember is their restaurant and the exit.

Never done it myself, genuinely can’t stand being in close proximity to them, a horrible, horrible support.

My mate got offered hospitality at parkhead when the filth played Barca in a friendly at Celtic Park, he was a season ticket holder at Ibrox but accepted the offer, can’t understand that mindset at all.

I was at a technical college in Ayr when I was 15 decades ago and my mate was a big Ayr fan,Ayr had a home game v fhilth coming up and he had been nagging me to go,On the Friday I gave in and on the Saturday we headed to the game,We got to the wee hump bridge on the approach to the park and the whole place was hoaching with bheasts I couldn’t do it just about turned and made a quick exit.
