Midfield realistic targets?

I'd like to see John Fleck into the engine room, if we can afford him.
Lundstram is out of contract and would be good addition too.
Sheff Utd had a poor season, but these 2 were missing for a chunk of that and both were excellent when Utd were flying high in the EPL.
2 additions that would bring strength and drive to our MF.

I’d like John Fleck and Kenny McLean. Really wish we had went for McLean when he was out of contract at the sheep shaggers.

My knowledge of footballers is nothing compared to my Football Manager playing days but I am definitely on board with the John Fleck & John Lundstram shouts, if affordable. Different types of midfielder and we could do with both.

Not a huge fan of loans in the middle of the pitch but if we were considering then Billy Gilmour and Conor Gallagher.

Other than that, I’d like a cool sounding young Croatian dubbed the next Luka Modric.

We were interested iirc. Whether we ever reached out to him is another thing entirely, but at that time I doubt we'd have offered him more than what Norwich did as we probably saw him as a squad player.

We need someone to come in and make that 3rd midfield spot their own like Davis and Kamara have with theirs. Someone similar to Arfield, but with more pace.

We also need someone for the right side of the attack similar to Kent. I feel like pace is the big thing we are missing in the side as a lot of our counter attacks get ruined by our severe lack of it.

Aye let’s get a Sheffield United midfield %^*& me sideways

Niklas Dorsch is one that got mentioned a lot last year but went to Belgium. Seen his name pop up on Twitter recently.

*no idea if he is any good or a realistic now.

No idea who we will go for in midfield bit given we are quoted for defenders and forwards who are out of contract I suspect it's midfield where we will pay the big fees for. When you look at our best Midfield 3 - Jack ,Davis Kamara - 50k paid in fees. That's tremendous business but this time I feel the cash will need to be paid in this area .

That's a bit backward in terms of thinking. Kamara from Dundee, Goldson from Brighton, McLaughlin from Sunderland, Wright from Aberdeen, Aribo from Charlton. Not forgetting Kent from Liverpool reserves. These are all examples of players we have signed who have been unfancied prior to us signing them.

Fleck and lundstram both are important first team players for an Epl side. I trust our management team and if that is who they go for, they have done more than enough to earn our trust and respect that they are the right players for our team.

Lovro majers name is sure to resurface

Lovro Majer is a cracker however he's out of our reach now marsellie were paying up to £14 million for him on January deadline day but couldn't get it over the line Dorsch could very well be possible given how bad a season Gent have had they may look to cash in

I actually think we probably need two players to more or less go straight in and improve us.

Jack is seeing a specialist to get to the bottom of his issues and there must be doubts even at this stage whether he’ll be completely fit for the new season while I think it’s folly to some extent to continue expecting 36 year-old Steven Davis to continue being the fulcrum of our midfield for another whole season. Sooner rather than later age is going to catch up with him.

That being the case there’s two positions we kind of urgently need to fill for the centre of the park next season, and that’s presuming we manage to hold on to Kamara.

If I was to guess, I think we’ll look to add one early on (although it may require someone to leave to fund the quality we’re looking for) with another in our sights dependent on Champions League progress.
