My reply from Ruth Davidson’s office ref Michelle Gray and all the other poor victims

I had a wee 10 minute chat last night with Michelle,she is no doubt down in the dumps at the minute,she feels she is being suppressed and all is falling on deaf ears,she has taken a break on social media for now as she has had abuse after abuse.

She is off social media because no fault of her own,when folk from the offside trust ask her to retweet’s things and she can’t is disheartening for her and other survivors.

She has had a torrent of abuse on Twitter and is physically sick,personal txts on her phone too,but she still won’t let this go,she is going to take a week or so off SM and think of a new attack or another few avenues to persue.

Let’s be clear,no threat of physical violence has been made against her yet,but external forces are making it difficult to tweet and engage on SM,you should be able to join the dots yourself.

She has not for one minute given up and will still fight the fight,but maybe got to know when to pick your battles if so to speak,I relayed other options folk had mentioned on FF,she does get strength from other folks best wishes and views and efforts made by others that have emailed folk and ideas.

I’m not the greatest pc literate but do folk think we could do a you tube video or broadcast or a podcast or something about this paedo ring over there and the cover up by them,and the useless SNP party on the exclusions of sporting institutions and the silence from the top brass members is an insult to every man human being in this country they so call govern ffs.

She made a promise to her brother when he could talk in an Australian hospital,she then had to wait for days as Andrew went downhill,she then wrestled with the fact she would have to switch his life support machine off as he was not coming home and then to I have a large collection of butt-plugs in a coffin,she has been to hell and back and will have more tough times ahead,but she’s from good family and I fully believe she’ll fight to her last breath to repay to her wee bro.

That is actually heartbreaking to read that.

Please tell her we are all thinking of her, her brother and her family.

So sad to see such a deserving woman being targeted and thwarted at every turn, to protect those who should have done the right thing for her brother decades ago. It's genuinely quite sickening to think that this is going on in Scotland in the 2000's. Incredible

Thank you for your email to Stuart McMillan MSP he has asked me to provide you with the following response:



The investigation into historical sexual abuse in football clubs is still an active Police Scotland case and cannot be discussed in the Scottish Parliament. If asked, Cabinet Secretaries are unable to comment, and anything that was said could prejudice a Police investigation or Court prosecution.



Once all the live legal issues are dealt with there very likely will be an inquiry, of the extend and scale as the historical child abuse in care inquiry which is currently ongoing. It started in 2015, is ongoing and has spent more than £17.5million up to 30th September this year, and will likely run for a number of years still to come.



Police Scotland have had more than 100 reports of abuse and are working with specialist officers and a support team from the NSPCC to assess the information being reported and how to take it forward.



It is too early in the investigation to set up an inquiry into what happened.

I was not sure as football institutions and all facets of religion seem to have been excluded in the original scope into child abuse.

Truly heartbreaking story. This brave woman can only pray that one day she will be able to close the door behind her, pour herself a well deserved glass, sit back on her sofa and relax.

Fulfilled in the knowledge that she has achieved a great victory. Justice for her poor brother and all the other victims.

But it must be awful for the poor woman getting torrents of abuse from evil stalkers that want her silenced.

Even if she received £2m in damages, it wouldn't compensate for the torture her brother endured and is now affecting her own health.

As such the Review took the view, on receipt of legal advice and in full consultation with those who had come forward, to withhold public release of the Final Report pending the conclusion of any criminal proceedings.

1.10 Consequently, the Review cannot, for the purposes of this Interim Report, answer the specific questions set by the Terms of Reference "Who in Scottish Football knew of these alleged instances of sexual abuse at the time or subsequently?; what did they know? and what was done?". Our findings in relation to these questions are now reserved for the Final Report. Essentially these questions and our conclusions concern issues of direct accountability and responsibility which we still strongly believe must still be aired to ensure lessons are learned and the serious concerns of those affected and those of the wider public are addressed.

I have highlighted these extracts to underline that the SFA have completed their final report (16th April 2018). I think it would be fair to say that Peter Lawwell, with the positions of power that he holds in Scottish Football, will have read this report in full.

The Terms of Reference in 1.10 are very important.

Sitting on their hands waiting on orders or seeing how this pans out ffs,I always think why did Stuart Regan go?! Was he pushed or did he jump before the shit storm arrived or what maybe he thought what was coming.


Andy called his PA and set up a meeting about a year ago ish give or take a month,sure her name was Donna and she sent a taxi to pick him up and bring him to Hampden where they had lunch for an hour so overlooking the park in a box.


Was told Regan was Sympathetic and was sorry for what had happened to him,said he would work with Andy and other victims if they came forward.


But this is the best bit!! The SFA arranges to put councillors in place to help him,but called a week or so later to pull it as they said they had no more funding!!


Thanks and goodbye basically,But we still got the proof it all happened.


Absolutely stinks and what a way for a governing body to treat someone,scandalous!!!

3.57 The Independent Review has been impressed by the commitment and leadership shown by Celtic FC to progressing improvements in the protection of young people and the reduction of risk at the club especially over the last six years and we are aware that more recently steps have been taken to continue this process of improvement and delivery.

3.58 We are also aware that both Aberdeen FC (by 2015) and Ross County FC (in 2017) followed suit by also creating paid dedicated (part time posts) of Safeguarding Officers and see this as an exemplar for good practice at senior professional clubs (especially for those with academy structures in place).

3.60 However, this has not to date been replicated elsewhere although the Review have only very recently been made aware that Rangers FC have created a salaried dedicated post of Safeguarding Officer. Currently most senior professional clubs still allocate safeguarding responsibilities as an ‘add on’ to other posts at the club …. such as Human Resources or the Safety Officer. The Independent Review finds that this is inadequate to meet the expanding responsibilities of the role and the imperative to imbed safeguarding arrangements and practices across and throughout clubs. I'm stunned by this excerpt from the SFA's report. It completely ignores the reality of the abuse carried out by Celtic employees. Have the SFA even looked into Celtic's child safety procedures in any depth? What is the extent of influence held by their Safeguarding Officer? I'll tell you one thing, their new safeguarding procedures would not have stopped Torbett. He was well connected at board level. Ask Hugh Birt. Hugh was chairman of Celtic boys club and when he took his concerns over Torbett to the Celtic directors he himself was sacked.
The SFA ought to be aware their praise of the very worst offending club, Celtic, in Scottish football makes unsavoury reading.

Piers Morgan was aggressively angry in relation to a recent twist regarding the Rotherham abuse scandal where Rotherham council contacted a known paedophile and rapist who is currently serving time for his acts and asked him if he would be interested in applying for parental rights. The paedophile had raped the child's mother.

Piers has since tweeted about this and it may be worth us tweeting him to make him aware of the scandal and cover up in Scotland. I have already done so, but the more attention this gets in his twitter feed the more interested he will be. I asked him to follow Michelle on twitter to see the disgusting way the victims are being treated.

1.7 The Review commenced fieldwork in June 2017 and completed its Final Report on 16 April 2018.


1.9 Throughout its deliberations the Review has held the narratives of those directly and personally affected by this issue as central. Indeed, the Final Report hinges on a full consideration and appreciation of the experiences of those most personally affected. To this end the Final Report therefore contains a number of narratives concerning those who have come forward and what they have told us happened to them when they were young. Similarly, the Final Report provides contextual information concerning those who are alleged to have harmed young people in Scottish football. Even though great care was taken to anonymise this information (except in those cases where individuals gave full consent to being identified) it was clear that this still did not fully guarantee the anonymity of some or all of the individuals we referred to particularly those against whom allegations have been made. As such the Review took the view, on receipt of legal advice and in full consultation with those who had come forward, to withhold public release of the Final Report pending the conclusion of any criminal proceedings.

1.10 Consequently, the Review cannot, for the purposes of this Interim Report, answer the specific questions set by the Terms of Reference "Who in Scottish Football knew of these alleged instances of sexual abuse at the time or subsequently?; what did they know? and what was done?". Our findings in relation to these questions are now reserved for the Final Report. Essentially these questions and our conclusions concern issues of direct accountability and responsibility which we still strongly believe must still be aired to ensure lessons are learned and the serious concerns of those affected and those of the wider public are addressed.

Perhaps he should now be pressed on this matter by his constituents.

Are there any Bears on here from Ross, Skye and Lochaber that could start to exert a little pressure on this politician asking him to actually follow through with his assertion?

I would publicly and relentlessly lobby him if I was in his constituency. He has opened the door - talked the talk - there should be a surge of demands that he now walks the walk.
 
below is an extract of a email i wrote to Ross Thomson 12 days ago. So far no reply.

Michelle Gray is the sister of one of the victims of convicted serial paedophile James Torbett. She has been asking via social media for the first minister to make a comment on the ongoing malaise surrounding Celtic Football Club and its currant stance to the whole affair. So far Michelle has received no reply. It’s as if Nicola Sturgeon and the Scottish Government does not care about the victims of a serial child molester.
I know he is appealing the sentence but this is a guy who has already been convicted and put in prison for abusing children in the past whilst being at Celtic Boys Club.
There is also at least another two men up on charges of child molesting who were at the club. Now I know we cannot comment on cases that are ongoing but it’s slightly concerning how big this may get and yet not a word from Ms Sturgeon.

Ross is there any way you can bring this up at first ministers question time. For me this is not about pointing the finger at Celtic but ultimately getting justice for the victims of what could potentially be a paedophile ring within Scottish Football.

Was watching him make that speech he should be held to account. We will wait to see if the First Minster responds to the alleged peadophile ring at that rancid organisation.

Her mother has now been abused as well.

One interesting thing I note is that often the abuse is from accounts that are actively anti-Rangers.
Again, this seems to have intimations that the intimidation is from a potentially paid online group that I believe stems from Celtic themselves.
If this were to be proven it would be absolutely scandalous.

Your joking mate what's the mother done to warrant getting abuse?? I really feel for that family after everything they have been through to then be on the end of the viciousness such as they are receiving. Absolute monsters in this world.

Its an open goal now on the Blackford statement in the House today, Michelle and her family must publicly call him out on her brothers abuse from the Celtic Paedophile Ring.

How, a few weeks ago, was a Labour MSP from Glasgow ( can't remember his name off hand) able to stand up in Holyrood and ask a question about the Hibs manager recieving abuse from fans of another Edniburgh club but MSP's can't ask questions relating to issues from outside their constituency?

This sort of vile act should have no barriers of discussion or investigations.

Just takes one of the self serving c**ts to grow a back bone and say "f**k it. Right Sturgeon, this needs investigated, it needs opened up to the public and it needs dealt with now. You Sturgeon should be leading it.

Otherwise the message it sends out is The SNP do not care about child abuse and the countless victims'

What can we do to help, i'm not very socially media clever, but will will donate money to a fund to help the Gray family, can someone set up a crowdfunding page please, with a Paypal payment method and i will give the first £100. The family needs professional media savvy people to help their campaign for justice.

Thanks for kind words,but Andy was a very close friend he would have done everything and more for me if the shoe was on the other foot and for my family,he was a honrable guy and a decent human being,the lad Andrew had accident in his pool in Australia is home tomorrow for a few weeks,we’re going to all catch up.

Michelle will be there and I will relay your good will gesture and run that idea past her and see where and what she may want to do next,I just don’t know what options she has at the minute and will see what she is thinking when we all catch up.

Nice words sir and good to hear Michelle will continue to seek justice, from those who facilitated those horrible paedophiles that conducted their sickening abuse on her brother and others. The SNP MP Blackford made a statement in the House of Commons saying ''sexual violence must be called out'' Will Michelle be contacting him to ask him to call out the historic violent sexual abuse that went on for thirty years at Celtic Boys Club?
