After watching numerous clips and the Amazon documentary should we as fans be pushing / demanding a befitting statue to the great man.
Definitely yes but Mr Struth first. After watching numerous clips and the Amazon documentary should we as fans be pushing / demanding a befitting statue to the great man.
I disagree with this.... We are too slow to properly honour our legends who genuinely change our club.. Walter a big example of that. We should decorate them more so we and the next generation never forget people who genuinely make our club what it is today.I personally think the statue we have is all we need.
Wouldn't we allI would like a bust
I think he’s the Greatest Ever Ranger but I wouldn’t have a statue.
You couldn’t have a statue of him but not have one of Bill Struth for example.
The museum will be the best place to educate future generations on those who served our club.I disagree with this.... We are too slow to properly honour our legends who genuinely change our club.. Walter a big example of that. We should decorate them more so we and the next generation never forget people who genuinely make our club what it is today.
All legends of course but Waddell was a legendary player, a legendary manager who delivered our only European trophy and he was the driving force of the stadium redesign which gave us the best arena in Britain for a period. The combination is unique.I'm personally not into statues but I think that there would be a far better case for statues for Bill Struth, Scot Symon and Walter Smith.
This, and the fact he dragged us out of a dark period. The modern day Ibrox Stadium we all know and love is Waddell’s legacy.
I would like a bust
I fully agree and wish to remind the young team that he built an all seater stadium to keep us all safe. Our stadium is the statue to William Waddell.
It’s a permanent reminder of what the man did for the club, off and on the pitch.
It’s testament to his vision and drive, his class.
But it is also the home of our family who should be more prominent when tourists visit.Ibrox is not Cardin Grotto.
Other than the current memorial, we as a support do not indulge in such ostentatious expressions as you are advocating.Might not be popular but I think we should have statues round all Ibrox We should be taking over the grounds of Ibrox as when the museum opens there will be more tourists fan visits group visits and round aibrox compared to other big clubs in the world is a bit bland.
No not for meThe thing with statues is where does it stop? If Waddell gets one we arguably should have statues for Struth, all 4 of our founders, Smith, Wallace, Symon…
Have to admit that iv been very ignorant to his Contribution to our club apart from winning the cup winners CupI’d absolutely agree that Mr Waddell is one of many incredible figures from our clubs illustrious past who needs greater recognition.
A statue is one, but not the only, means of doing this.
We so badly need the planned Rangers Museum. It is decades overdue and will be brilliant if done properly.
Have to admit that iv been very ignorant to his Contribution to our club apart from winning the cup winners Cup
IMO statues are for that lot. They fit in with their whole existence and the ritual and very being of them! No!After watching numerous clips and the Amazon documentary should we as fans be pushing / demanding a befitting statue to the great man.
Ibrox is not Cardin Grotto.
I’d agree here but, maybe not for the same reasons.I'm personally not into statues but I think that there would be a far better case for statues for Bill Struth, Scot Symon and Walter Smith.
I agree with that statementSurely the current Ibrox Stadium is monument enough?
Fair point mate - I assume you want John Greggs taken downWe’re not Catholics. We don’t do icons.
Besides, the stadium is Waddell’s monument
