haha is it seriously a wig? I thought it was dyed but a syrup is hilarious. Surely he was at the bam up? Regardless, he looks like a character out of Dark Souls.

Check my edit. I've bumped the thread with his admission.

He may not be a compete disaster for them but we've got an ambitious young manager striving to be the best so I'm pretty confident we'll still be ahead of them. Even if it's just by a few points at the end of the season thats enough. Got a funny feeling it'll be a lot more though and I'll take a record score (in brackets) against them as a greedy bonus.
We shouldn’t and I’m pretty certain we don’t (unlike them) set our strategy to stay ahead of our rivals. Doing that only inhibits the possibilities. I’ve seen nothing in 3 years that indicates that. Take Europe for example- it would have been easy and even logical for the gaffer to concentrate on stopping them winning 10. We were aiming waaaay beyond that and whaddaya you know it happened as part of the greater journey.

Where we’re going Marty, we don’t need roads. Ignore them unless we fancy a good laugh. They’re an irrelevant side show that will always been looking up to us. Even when we were down 3 leagues they were checking their mirrors cos they knew we were coming back fast.

As someone else said. What a time to be alive.

I'm uneasy about the tidal wave of opinion on here that Ange is a dud. I certainly hope he is but how can people be so sure he will be a disaster?
Look at his record.

He has a win record of under 50percent at every job he has had.

Unless he changes his philosophy then I cannot see how he succeeds.

Successful teams build from the back, not the front.

They are all right but do let the mask slip from time to time. Paul John is reasonable most of the time despite the haircuts, wee Kevin from fife is probably the most normal but a bit dewy eyed and tbh Tony Haggerty is generally fair in his assessment of the challenge from Rangers.

The 2 lassies are fair enough but Russell is gormless and the old dude a bit of a grumpy old moonhowler.

They keep going on about the number of viewers they are getting but it’s mainly because we are all WFH and watching hoping for another appearance from Tommy Sheridan, moonhowler in chief.
Lawrence is the bitter one of that podcast.

You can tell he is a right bitter cvnt.

Only way this no mark stops 56/57/58 is by an absolute fluke.

Gerrard stopping 10 wasnt a fluke. That was careful planning and patience.

This lady's front bottom has no chance
Always said at the beginning of his tenure that Gerrard would need 3 seasons to get it right. Anyone thinking that this appointment at the scum will be in any way successful right away is deluded. The manager is not even there yet, the spine of their team has been severed, they are struggling financially and any new players would need time to settle.
It absolutely amazes me that they are appointing an untried manager into this situation they now find themselves in. If it was Rangers doing this I would not be looking forward to the new season. The incompetence of not landing Howe after courting him for months with all the world watching was hilarious to say the least. This will not last forever but the future looks bleak for them in every way. From the CSA cases against them to a crumbling stadium and a poor team makes great reading for us and will take years to overcome without major investment which at the moment doesn't look like happening.

Happy Days!

100% look at what Gerrard done for his rebuild the first money he spent in the transfer window was getting the Defence up to scratch from what we've heard this guy won't even be concerned with the state of the defence he seems very Warburton-esque with a naive footballing philosophy

i see in today's papers he's linked with signings one of the yokohama players with gerry creaney telling us it could be the next larsson.

They have no money to spend :D

Also linked with Mat Ryan of Brighton according to Sky.

Because of course his first signing will be an Aussie.

To anyone that watches these tim podcasts.

Have they actually commented on the very obvious City Group mini stealth club observations being made on here ?

Think he's been linked with Arsenal. Doubt timmy could afford him. I hope he sticks with Barkas. Would love to see him playing sweeper keeper.

:eek::eek::eek: they are pooing themselves

Asked about the quality of football-
(paraphrasing) > At any given time a minnow can beat a top team, that’s how competitive the league is. Eg Honda FC who are amateurs beat Yokohama.

Sounds like EFL league two rather than one of the worlds top 10 leagues.

Now I have no doubt this guy has qualities.
He has achieved success in previous jobs.
He’s “a bulldog and not a yes man”. All very good.
His philosophy sounds like Warburton’s, which I for one bought into, before and throughout the season Barrie McKay scored that goal against the tims.

Like Warburton did latterly ie after a season in the championship, he’s facing a huge test. And the difference is it’s immediate. It’s a huge jump from what he’s done before. On and off the pitch. Just like Warburton but further removed from his starting point eg no Davie Weir. It just shows how organised our board were getting Stevie G. They’ve failed (with Eddie Howe) and have picked up scraps and gone with a gamble.

He’s nothing to lose so will stick to his footballing philosophical guns and as another poster has said Lawwell will have Clarke as his plan B. It doesn’t work - he goes. Scottish football is backward and does suit my game wallet bulging pay off.

Let the fun begin

Of course we should try and be objective and not jump to conclusions.

But at the end of the day we all have opinions about sport. We shouldn’t give valid opinions about the daunting task facing Celtic’s new manager in case we are wrong? If we approached everything in life like that we’d never give an opinion on anything.

The guys who didnt enjoy last season until about May, they didn’t have a better time than I and plenty others did on here rubbing Scottish footballs nose in it from Nov.

The manager has no experience of European football, never mind Scottish.
He has never coached at a high level (Aussie national team is not a high level).
The club he is joining are in their worst state in decades.
They have no DoF
They have a new CEO with experience in rugby only
They have no decent keeper
No right back
No competent left back
Only one (youth) CB from last year’s squad is expected to be there next season
Their best Cb is leaving and they will get less money than it takes to replace him
Ditto their star striker, top scorer and talisman
They have 4 or 5 loanees who returned to their parent clubs
Only one of last seasons forwards is likely to be around (Ajeti)
One of their few other top European quality players, Elynoussi, has left
The captain has left
The clubs finances are a mess because of COVID
Last years accounts showed a 25 mil loss, but for a 25mil player sale
They have no assets worth that this year and COVID plus reduced on field success means that hole is likely to be 30mil plus before player transfers this time
The manager doesn’t have the profile to attract high profile talent above and beyond their means (as Gerrard for example can)

We’re not exactly being unreasonable or wearing blue tinted specs by looking at that and saying “my objective analysis is that the greatest manager in football history would struggle under those circumstances”
Reading this has just taken the edge of my Sunday morning hangover.:D

The start of the new season can’t come quick enough.:)):))

Imagine chasing a nobody coach from as far away from Glasgow as you can possibly get and offer him a 12 month rolling contract.. which he accepts.

Apparently wanting a keeper from Newcastle to be the new number 1, (was told his name but can’t remember it,) but he’s Gareth Southgates godson allegedly.

If they were bringing him in under normal circumstances when their entire club wasn’t imploding then I’d be holding back with the laughter as I think he could do a solid job for them.

However, they are imploding and they guy does not have a clue what he’s letting himself in for. Gut feeling is that he’ll bring in a few soft technical players and they’ll struggle big time in Scotland. He’ll be lucky to last a season.
Absolutely if they were competing solely with a McIness Aberdeen with no Hibs, Hearts let alone Rangers in the league he'd be fine

Celtic are in a odd position with goalkeepers. They have three, one being £5M, yet the fans want a new keeper.

If they've limited cash would you buy a new keeper or stick with what they have?
They also need a back to basics GK who actually makes saves, by the sounds of things they want an Ederson sweeper keeper.

There’s so much in there that’s hilarious. One thing I found extraordinarily Brentish though was the journalist mentioning a few times Postecoglou makes players call him ‘boss’ so there’s no doubt who’s in charge, with the inference that he’s quite strict about it.

There’s been many managers referred to as gaffer or boss, I’m sure Gerrard is referred to as The Gaffer by players. But never have I seen this being a requirement and enforced by the coach, it’s always a sign of respect from the players.
The more I read and hear the more this guy seems like a Warburton-Caixinha live child , with the personality of David Brent.

The Record on-line have now published a puff piece with the headline

‘Celtic appear primed in the transfer market despite the long wait’
According to the slavering Tim who wrote it, there is no need to worry. Dom McKay has been busy in the background sorting out recruitment.
The first great thing is that he has the backing of Forest, McGregor, Turnbull, and Walsh who are all fully committed and champing at the bit for Ange to arrive.
Then we come to the crunch. Ange’s signing targets.

Ado Onaiwu - admires his boss and ‘could’ be tempted to follow him.

Kaoru Mitoma and Ao Tanaka - who play for Kawasaki Frontale (champions elect) whose agent said ‘ "Both players have said they want to go abroad and we will try and do that after the Olympics."
Hardly in talks with Dom then....

Finally Matt Ryan - really? The man himself is quoted in the piece.

‘Hopefully, Arsenal becomes one of those options as well that we can look at and see what can happen there, but at the minute it’s still quite early. The season’s just finished.’
Hardly a sign that he’s gagging to wear the green!

And that’s it......three Japanese and a goalie who wants to sign for Arsenal.

Dom doesn’t seem busy enough tbh..I hope for their sake pig eye Pete’s boy is poking around the dingy corners of the City Group
