Probably need to get McLaughlin and Arfield to sign extended contracts - as well as the obvious one of Goldson.

Fair number running out in 2023 as well, but they can probably wait until the turn of the year.

Didn't realise Hastie was out of contract this Summer either. (EDIT: he isn't, OP is incorrect). I wonder where he, Stewart and Murphy will end up?

Hastie isn't out of contract. Signed a four year deal in 2019

Murphy's signed a permanent deal with Hibs starting this summer.

8 players out of contract in 2022.

Five first team regulars, including McGregor and Davis.
McGregor and Davies are at that stage of their careers where, unless they plan on retiring, they will happily sign annual 1 year extensions. I have no concerns over those two. Balogun and Arfield we should be talking to once this Summer's transfer window closes I hope.

This is going to be a tricky window, as I think in order to progress and go to the next level, we are going to have to lose one or two popular players from the first team squad. Guys who have been regulars and great servants for us.

I think we might see some significant ins and out in midfield and defence.

Were we were also linked to Danilho Doekhi, Dutch centre back from Vitesse.

I wouldn’t be offering extended deals to players out of contract next summer unless they are guaranteed starters and rarely injured.

Basically thank Arfield for his service and allow him to leave on a free summer 2022, we need better in the midfield area now.

McLaughlin worth a new deal but by 2022 you'd like to think we've moved on from Arfield. Been a great signing for us.

I'm not writing off Arfield yet. In terms of age he's a comparative youngster next to Davies. We may yet see him reinvent himself in a deeper role if he's struggling for game-time in a more attacking role.

I've no doubt the management team and scouting network know who they want to get to sign extensions, who won't be signing extensions and who need to be moved on with 2 years or less left on their contracts.

We can let anyone leave on a bosman that we don't want to.

We need to sign a couple of Scottish players for the UEFA squad and I'd suggest maybe Nisbett at HIVs could take Greg Stewarts squad position and it might be the right time to cash in on Borna and replace him with Doig at HIVs also.
I should add that if we don't sell Borna then Doig could replace Barker if we can get any takers.
Might be a better option.

we defo need more goal threat form midfield, so any midfilder who can do that and provide killer passes is essential for us to move to the next level, especially in europe, though those kind of players are hard to come by and will cost a pretty penny

Garner going into the last year of his contract. Expect man u will want him to sign an extension but he might be tempted by guaranteed first team football.

Who was your idol growing up? (Corey)

“I get asked this a lot of times. Because of where I grew up, all my family are Liverpool supporters, which is ironic considering I’m at Manchester United, so my idol was probably Steven Gerrard. I used to watch all the games with my Dad and he was the main player who I used to watch and I wanted to be like him. I used to wear the Predators, just like him, and I still do today."

That's from an Interview he done with Watford if the gaffer can work his magic and visit him personally I think we could get a deal done for this lad would be a great rotation alternative to Davis in the deeper midfield role controlling the tempo of the game

Wonder if Kelly coming back from a successful loan at Ross County may be added to the squad as an additional midfield option.

First I've heard of that. The gaffer must have half a chance of persuading him. A lot of united fans calling for him to replace fred or matic next season though

I reckon if they can sell Fred and Matic they will probably spend a bit on a midfielder it's worth asking the question without doubt if the player is a big admirer of Gerrard he may even force the move even on an initial loan deal

Surely yous 2 already know magregor signed an extension about 5 weeks ago. Or am I reading your posts wrong?

Edit: I was reading your posts wrong:)) didn't see the 2022 bit. In my defence. What's the relevance in that to this thread? :))

I think the primary investment in the summer needs to be a midfielder who would walk into the starting 11. Then another on loan (Garner, for example).

In terms of Campbell/McCann/Ferguson, I'd have no issue with any of those being added to the squad in the near future - I judge them less on how they are now but what our excellent coaching team can make them.
