We were missing the substitutes around 55-60 minutes.
Davis was poor, he clearly can't do three games in a week and it's utterly ridiculous at this point that we're telling him to, Simpson has not played a lot of football this season and was starting to get over-run, Wright was clearly starting to slow around the hour mark for a similar reason, Aribo has fatigued a fair amount in recent games due to playing nearly every game.
Nothing changed. we really fatigued, we stopped the incisive runs and went back to the useless deep crosses, we started giving away fouls through tiredness, we stopped winning the 50/50's, we started making loads of mistakes in possession, dropped deeper and looked in trouble.
Nothing changed. We conceded. Still, nothing changed.
Then with 15 minutes to go we made three subs.
Horrid decision making. Horrid management. Absolutely threw the game away due to fatigue amongst the players and mistakes made through tiredness.
I get that we should have scored more than one goal in the first half but substitutions are the major difference between this year and last year.
Last season we'd have made 2 subs before their goal was scored and the chance probably gets snuffed out before it becomes a problem, this year we're holding on to subs until the difference they make on the game is negligable.
